Hello Fullerton Community. Let me tell you about the gem in Mexican food in Fullerton! You don't have to search far for good quality made fresh Mexican food. I went out for dinner with my mother and sister to Palapas restaurant it did not disappoint. We got a plate of Birria Nachos and two Carne asada sopes with a side of rice and beans. The owner was in last night and she gave us consomé on the house and for dessert she gave us a slice of their delicious creamy flan. We also ordered a plate of churros because you can't end the night at a Mexican restaurant without trying their best desserts. Can't wait to try the breakfast menu, see you soon Palapas.

First, there is no clear entry point. The attendant was swift to seat us. The decor was symbol of culture food to come.Breakfast for four was our choice.Menu was specific and somewhat final with little room for change. I wanted simple egg, house potatoes and water. This seemed to confuse the hostess. It was not on the menu of prices ranging from $15-$30+. Seemed only Chef Ramsey &Wolfgang Puck entrees were offered. Dishes were served one at a time with several minutes in between. Once served dishes were more artistic than flavorful. I understood price, preparation timeframe and delay in finally eating. Chef does not understand basic over medium egg. I felt embarrassed to return the running egg and cold house potatoes. The water was good. My company enjoyed their's but felt bad at waiting for others to be served before eating themselves. I probably will not return!!!

The birria here is spectacular, perhaps the best I've tried!! It has a fantastic taste, tender, juicy, and clean! I ordered the burrita pizza for a party and it was a huge hit! Excellent size and price! Would order again for another event as it is a lot of servings!Only thing that doesn't sit right with me is that when you place an order over the phone they require your card information, including the 3 digits in the back...sketchy. I wish they had an online system we can pay through.

Palapas has gone under new ownership and it's not for the better. This was my weekly go to Taco Tuesday place, but new ownership has gotten rid of the daily deals. The prices have doubled and the quality of the tacos has gone down. The guacamole is watery and tastes gross. The meat is not flavorful and the whole feel of the place is unfriendly and more of a sit down place. I miss the old palapas.Definitely wouldn't come back anymore!

The food is soooo good. I had the Carne Asada platter and my boyfriend had enchiladas both were delicious . The salsa is served warm and sooo yummy! The chips are super fresh and also served warm. They seem to have drink specials most of the week. I definitely recommend this place for quick service and great food!

Lunch today sent me straight into a food coma nap! These birria tacos were everything and more. The server convinced me to add cheese and boy am I glad I listened! My mom ordered the green salsa chilaquiles and I may have helped her out to make sure we didn't leave anything behind. The steak we added to the chilaquiles were the true star of the show. She and I enjoyed sitting in the patio for two hours, thanks for not kicking us out, Palapas! Ps. say yes to the paloma's.

THEY CHARGE $1 PER SALSA!! Truly has gone downhill. Aside from their already pretty pricey menu items, they're now charging $1 for the tiny cups of salsa. I would highly recommend hitting Navarro's, up the street. Don't waste your money or time.

If you're looking to try this place I'd reconsider and search for another spot. Came for their Que Huevos brunch on Saturday and it was quick to get a seat for two. Waiter was friendly and all, but took ages to place in orders. Orders took about 30+ minutes to come out when restaurant was moderately seated. Now comes the food. Pretty lackluster and far from anything your madre or abuela could whip up. Ordered the chilaquiles molcajete And cajeta French toast. The molcajete was dry and hot and cold in different spots. The meat ratio was also skimp for $34 price tag. The carne was so dry it was practically Machaca (dried Mexican meat). Also first time I've been to a restaurant where the mocajete was not even a real stone bowl but a plastic one. The cajeta French toast was decent but nothing worth mentioning. All in all it was disappointing but I guess there is a reason they have a 3-star rating. Like I said, pick a different place for your meal

Food was cold! Service was great but food was lacking for the cost. Ordered chilaquiles plate with steak and the meat was old, rubbery and over cooked. Chilaquiles seemed like they had been sitting for a while they were so cold. Also ordered the birria quesa taco plate. Consomé was luke warm at best and lacking seasoning. Tacos were good but again not hot enough to have the melted cheese and experience on the quesa taco. Rice and beans on both plates were also cold.Service and ambiance were nice but not enough to return.
