Ono Hawaiian BBQ

Conveniently located near Disneyland & KHS and open until 9pm on the weekdays; I'm thankful for Ono! They have multiple locations and I have no issues with the price. Yes, portions could be bigger but I know the cost of everything has yet to go down. $14.49 for the chicken & beef combo which comes with the standard mac & rice. They do not have protein a la carte but I was able to add an extra portion of chicken to the meal for $3.80 as suggested by the cashier. No gripes here on customer service, they were very helpful and the transaction was smooth.Upbeat music, med volume, no tables to eat outside though...in case you need to decompress from Disney. Lol

No Help. I received an email from the company for a deal of 2 meals for $20 if I ordered online. After selecting my choices, I couldn't get the deal. When we got to the store we showed the cashier and the Shift Manager the problem we were having to see if they could help or override it and give us the deal in the email. The manager spoke no English so the cashier had to interpret for him. They were not able to help or honor the deal, so we left. This experience has left us questioning whether we should continue to use them for a catered event that we previously scheduled with this location.

$7 for an order that comes with 2 spam musubi. Sounds great, right? It's my daughter's regular item and she orders it all the time. Imagine our shock when we opened the box and saw two very tiny spam musubis. I have to say that they didn't skimp on the slice of spam, but for the rice? Where the heck was it? The whole thing was less than an inch thick. You can NOT serve a Polynesian a smidgen of rice in a spam musubi! So disappointing!!!

They messed up our order, they were supposed to give us Hawaiian BBQ Mix, meaning a piece of Chicken katsu / chicken teriyaki/ short ribs, they gave us the short ribs combo, overall the customer service was good, the food was delicious. Pricing : Hawaiian bbq mix $16.49 Kalbi short ribs $16.99

I ordered a chicken katsu mini meal with a side of island fire chicken. The service was really good and the wait wasn't long. The island fire chicken is my personal favorite but it is spicy so if you don't do spicy, then the chicken katsu is good. The mini meal comes with a scoop of rice and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad is also great. There is seating inside and it was kept clean.

Overall, it's not terrible. It's definitely overrated but a good quick meal on the go and it was by my hotel. If you're an islander like me, it made sense to go back for any of the spam dish and fresh coconut juice. The barbecue beef and chicken were not really worth the calories unless you're in need of a quick protein intake. The staff was always friendly and quick with service at this location!

I've become a pretty big fan of the whole Hawaiian barbecue scene... there's one I go to semi frequently back home, so while in Anaheim for a conference, I DoorDashed Ono to my hotel room one evening and it was good! I can't speak to the restaurant itself, but the way the food was presented was pretty lol, so if that's any indication of the establishment itself, then I think they've got a lot going for them. All I can comment on is the food itself, so take this review with a grain of salt. The order was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and the gentleman that dropped my order off was personable, but seeing as DoorDash is third party peeps, they had no influence over my review. I'll start with the musubi. First time I've ever had it in my life and it was yummy. I've seen it on all the Hawaiian bbq places' menus and it had looked so good I had to try it. The presentation was excellent and the neat little package didn't break apart when I ate it. Didn't think spam could be so good lol, but it was. The fire chicken was... fire (hehehe). There was an excellent ratio of meat and vegetables and the meat was seasoned really well. I'm a huge fan of spice, so I was a little disappointed by the lack of heat, but the flavor was super good regardless. The rice was well cooked, and the macaroni salad was delicious. A lot of macaroni salads are really mayo heavy, but this one was not, which made it all the better. The meal was great, and hit the spot for me. I'd definitely have it again if I'm ever in the area down the road!

Poor location, opened it and half of the chicken katsu portion was just breading alone, no chicken. No quality checks done. Won't return to this location again.

Someone, please get this "Delfino" man in check. This was the first time I'd been at this location in so long. He made it very uncomfortable and just weird, lol. Like, get off your high horse. And I wish I could everything else I want to say.

Simply delicious Hawaiian BBQ, it hits every time and it never disappoints. Perfectly cooked and perfect portions. And you know we had to get that extra Mac salad too!
