First of all, this restaurant is in a smaller plaza that has plenty of parking. The vibes of the restaurant are family-style, Vietnamese, and a little dated. It's a very comfortable and casual ambiance, so sometimes I just show up in pajamas and it's no big deal. Service is a little bit slow as it's older ladies working and sometimes they forget, but they're trying their best.My family has been loving the chicken and rice combo here. It comes with half a chicken (fried I believe), red rice, sauce, fried egg, and pickled veggies. The sauce is so addicting, I could not tell you what is in it but it seems like it's just a sweet soy sauce that goes with all the components of the meal. I add sriracha cause I need a little spice, but it's optional. The portion is pretty big, so I am able to take about 1/3 of the plate to-go. My family also gets the pho sometimes, which is decent! They prefer cash here, so make sure you got some bills on hand. This is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant experience. Wear something comfortable, bring some cash, and enjoy a hefty meal at a cheap price!

Food so nolstalgic - loved the ga roti skin so crispy and the sauce is so delicious. Red rice moist and pickled veggies are refreshing. Same decor as 20 years ago it seems. Still cash only which sucks

My favorite cơm gà spot I used to go to the old Garden Grove location a lot, but this new location is just as yummy! The hens always have a nice crisp on the outside on the inside that taste great with the sauce.Also, I was so happy to see the same older couple still managing the place after all these years. They're always so welcoming and kind, I'm glad business still looks good for these sweet people!

Honestly the best and most affordable chicken and rice place. I got it Togo and it was still hot and crispy when I got home. The red rice is a must, it is much more flavorful than regular rice. The chicken is so juicy and tender.

This place is an authentic hidden gem. If you come here, order their famous cornish chicken. It tastes fantastic with their sauce, red rice, eggs, and pickled vegetables.

On the 25th, we stopped by because we were on our way to pick up my aunt and were starving. I never want Dominoes but we settled on that since it was open. Once we saw THIS place was open, we figured we'd eat there instead. I'm so glad we did, the food was delicious! The lady greeted us with a kind smile and gave us a menu. (On a side note, I love that the menu is printed on the back of their business cards.) I took my order to go, but from what I could see from the waiting area, there was plenty of seating and the decor hasn't been updated, but honestly it suits the vibe ‍ We ordered the 1/2 cornish game hen with the rice and egg as well as the egg noddle soup, no complaints whatsoever. Even my picky nephew liked the food. Everything had a delicious flavor. That crispy skin on the hen and that sauce were the stars of the show. They definitely gained another customer

The chicken & rice is amazing here. The quality, the taste, & the sauce for the chicken. The chicken is delicious & very crispy. I love the pickled vegetables. It balances the entire meal. It used to be $1.99, now it's $11 due to inflation. The staff were very friendly & very accommodating. The interior of this place is sort of outdated, but it's a mom & pop restaurant.Note: This place accepts cash only

Chicken has a nice crispy exterior and juicy white meat and my favorite is the drum and thigh for the dark meat. The red rice never fails and the sauce is delectable. I can't eat the meal without the sauce. The pickled veggies adds the perfect acidity and freshness to cut the fat of the fried hen. This restaurant is quick with service and I never had a problem with either phone orders nor dining in. Great for a quick meal or family time.

Tried their Ga Roti, and for ten bucks, I expected a meal, not a snack for my imaginary pet hamster. The chicken was so tiny it could've slipped through a crack in the plate and disappeared forever. The red rice tasted like it was seasoned with pure disappointment, and the sour salad? More like a science experiment left out too long. The only thing that had a shred of dignity was the dipping sauce--it wasn't completely useless. If you want a Ga Roti that won't break your heart and your wallet, take your taste buds on a trip to Hoa Binh Restaurant instead.
