Mutt Lynch's

Mutt Lynch's at 23rd street and oceanfront, overlooking the ocean and a public paid parking lot. I've been coming here for many many years because I love the vibe here and I love the schooners of beer.Mutts has redecorated their bar since the Covid crisis. It's a fresh new upbeat look compared to what it once was, and it's a very different vibe now. Think dive bar by the ocean that's actually nice inside now.The food is typical bar food, decent when you're drinking. Their pizzas have always been good. The staff is generally fast getting orders and then delivering drinks and food.If you can sit at the front window area, that is the best spot to be for ocean smells and people watching. There is public paid parking out front however after a certain hour the parking I believe becomes free.Mutts is a Newport Beach staple, if you've never been, give them a try. I've been coming for almost 20 years now.

Taco Tuesday Heaven!!!!!Quick set up: I was in the area on business for one day. Myself and two others had a meeting in the morning and flights to catch in the afternoon. One of the guys in my group had never been to California before and had never seen the Pacific Ocean. With some time to kill, it was suggested that was stop at the beach to cross the Pacific Ocean off of his bucket list.It was December 17th but the weather was gorgeous. I believe it was around 70 degrees. Sun was shining and overall just a beautiful Cali day.We took a quick walk down the pier at Newport Beach. Saw some dolphins, surfers and a number of people fishing off of the pier. Now, it was time for a drink.We had tried one place but it was closed for a private event so they recommended Mutt Lynch's. Down the way we walked.With an oceanfront facing view, Mutt Lynch's was mostly open air in the front. You can't escape the beautiful view. As we walked up to the bar, I noticed all of the eclectic decor throughout with Christmas decorations intertwined for the holidays.As having a drink was on our minds, we each had a seat at the bar and ordered a beer. Food was not on our radar until..... There were two bartenders working. A man and a woman. Both were extremely friendly and conversational. When asked if we were eating, we kind of beat around the bush not knowing if we were going to have something. Then the male bartender proclaimed, "It's Taco Tuesday and we got some bomb-ass tacos!" He had me.I ordered the steak taco. This street taco style taco was one of the best I've ever had. The key was the steak. Larger chunks of steak that were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Not dry and chewy but but rather tender and ridiculously flavorful. Not a whole lot of frills either. If I remember correctly, I think there was onion and cilantro and they were served on corn tortilla's. These tacos were in fact, bomb-ass tacos!!!As we were sitting there, enjoying our tacos and beverages during a Tuesday lunch, I couldn't help but notice the shelf of Mutt Lynch's hats on the wall. One of these hats really caught my eye. It was a simply black truckers hat with a grey front and bill with Mutt Lynch's logo embroidered in white on the front. I had figured they'd be about $40 or $50 but I thought I'd ask. $27, tax included. Done! Love that hat. It's got a great look too it and, well, you can never have too many hats.Would I go back? I would love to go back. The next time I'm out in Cali, I will definitely make the trip out to Mutt Lynch's. Given that I extensively travel around the world for business, I'm going to try and remember to take my Mutt Lynch's hat with me and get snapshots of that little gem all over the world and shoot them back to the fine people at Mutt Lynch's. Such a great place!!!

Salad was a little tired and definitely old school. Chicken tenders just average. Beer choices limited.Service was initially friendly and then absent.It's a bro surfer bar...what you'd expect for music seats and vibe.

Epic experience cuz the bar tender brought my dog a fucking plate of bacon and then later on, kicked out the drunk man child harassing us. My dog loved that bacon more than he has ever loved many parts of being alive. The hard kombucha rocks. Good place to people watch too prob

Trivia here is THE MOVE!! Wednesday nights, be there if you want to have a good time. There were tons of teams, lots of different categories, and it was just an absolute blast!! Highly highly recommend!!!

Bar/restaurant right on the beach in Newport Beach. There is some community seating. That is first come first serve. There are tables in the back. This place gets very crowded so you may have to wait. We opted for the community seating and sat down right away.I highly recommend having a cold beer and one of the giant glass goblets. We had the Mutt Lynch's blonde, and it was delicious. For an appetizer, we had the cheese curds. We also had the buffalo wings which were huge and delicious. Between the two of us, we could barely finish them. The restaurant also plays good music and played a bit of metal. The restaurant is literally on the beach, so the people watching is fun and the weather is absolutely gorgeous.

Such a blast for football games as well as the New Year's Day pj party! Food and drinks are great and the amount you get for the price is sooo worth it!

Great atmosphere to take in the local vibe. Huge portions and lots of options. Service was on top of it by consistently meeting expectations. I love the location and the people watching. Lots of character and characters.

They have the best service! Come here anytime you want to have a great time! Great atmosphere and good vibes!

Awesome bar Todd is the absolute best so attentive and caring, make my experience here great! Will definitely be coming back next weekend
