My friend recommended this place for their lunch special and for the price plus what you get, very worth it, and delicious. My friend got the Lunch special bossam and I got the Lunch special bulgogi. Between the two, I should have ordered the bossam, meaty and hearty, but the bulgogi was not bad, sweet and savory at the same time with slices of onions that adds a crunch to each bite. The banchans were fantastic both in taste and, yes, the refills. The texture and tastes were on point and with the number of Korean restaurants I've visited, Moobongri Soondae knows what they're doing.Service was good, although it took a bit for the food to arrive. Inside is clean and the ambience was great. Parking can be a challenge when the plaza gets busy, but there's underground parking if the surface lot is full.

I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile and I'm glad I finally made it out! The restaurant is small, so I'm glad we arrived early for dinner.Honestly, I couldn't decide what to order because I wanted to order everything on the menu. I asked the waiter for his thoughts and he was super helpful in whittling it down to a few dishes and described how the flavor profiles differed. I ended up ordering the spicy galbitang and OMG! It blew away my expectations. The spice is medium level and really not spicy even though it looks spicy. The broth was so flavorful and the meat was perfectly tender. I recommend adding in a healthy pinch of salt and a few baby shrimp (from the condiments) to give it a little heightened punch of flavor. The banchan was all great, and I'm definitely going to come back again and again and try everything on the menu. Gamjatang is next! All of our servers were really helpful and the food was amazing. Definitely try this place if you haven't been yet!

Moobongri SGV - A Solid Spot for Korean Comfort Food! If you're craving hearty Korean soups and traditional flavors but don't feel like making the trek to K-Town, Moobongri SGV is a great alternative! Located in San Gabriel, this spot serves up authentic, no-frills Korean comfort food that's perfect for a chilly night or rainy day. I tried the Pork Belly Soup + Soondae & Pork Meat Sampler Combo ($27.99), and it was definitely the star of the meal. The soondae (Korean blood sausage) was super chewy and paired so well with their soondae salt & shrimp 젓갈 (fermented sauce). The Spicy Soondae Soup ($19.99) had a rich, bold broth that warmed me up instantly, and the Mini Korean Boiled Pork ($14.99) was tender and flavorful--a solid side dish to balance out the meal. HOWEVER, the cabbage comes with mini boiled pork was little too salty for me soo keep that in mind when eating! What I Loved: Authentic flavors without having to go to K-Town Big portions--great for sharing! Perfect comfort food, especially on a rainy day Overall Rating: 8/10 Must-Try: The Pork Belly Soup & Soondae Sampler Combo Easy Parking: Free plaza parking--huge plus!

My friend and I came here for dinner on a Monday night and it was decently busy. We didn't have to wait fortunately and we were seated quickly. We ordered the spicy pork belly soup and soondae/boiled pork combo and a small bulgogi side. Unfortunately, all the dishes were pretty underwhelming which was disappointing considering I liked Gamjatop (the restaurant they changed from). The bulgogi was a bit chewy and didn't have much flavor. The spicy pork belly soup lacked flavor outside of being spicy and adding the seasoning given to us didn't help enhance the flavor. The soondae was also a bit chewy for our liking and we thought it was a bit salty. The boiled pork was fine, but nothing spectacular. Overall, I think the food here is just OK, but maybe I just came on an off day.

[4.7 stars] Wow, this place is worth coming to! Warm, modern & cozy inside. They also have a cute lit outside patio with heaters. They served cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, pickled cucumbers, pickled onion, and seasoned mushrooms. All of the banchan were well-seasoned. My friends & I especially enjoyed the mushroom banchan, but all the other ones were refreshing and paired nicely with our meal. I had a party of 4 & we ordered the (L) Combo Soondae Hot pot, each served with a bowl of rice. There was so much to eat inside our soup including bean sprouts, chives, bell peppers, mushrooms, perilla leaves, ricecakes, soondae, pork pieces, tofu, etc! Flavors were on point and I really enjoyed the soondae here, it is one of yummiest soondae I have tried! (4.7/5) Casing had a nice snap & texture to them. The pork pieces was more bland but it paired well with the perilla powder & salt on the side. Portion was also great as well for 4 girls. We were very full by the end of it & almost finished it all! It was a nice meal to share with everyone. Although, after I got home, I did feel very thirsty so there might be lots of msg in there... haha 0.0. Anyways, service was quick & friendly too. Workers did well checking in on us and asking if we needed anything often. Overall, I would come here again because this was hearty & warming meal to the body and soul. Great service, yummy soondae soup + banchan, and a reasonable price.

Got a little of everything. Gamjatang was flavourful and portion was decently sized. Seafood pancake was tasty and kimchi fried rice was delicious. I would definitely come back for a meal again if celebrating a birthday or event. Service was good, pretty attentive with the banchan. Ambiance was chill, very traditional. I'd recommend this place.

They have a pet-friendly outdoor patio, but unfortunately, the heat lamps were out of order during our visit. Thankfully, we ordered hot soups to keep us warm. The last time I was here, it was a different Korean restaurant specializing in Gamjatang pork bone soup. This time, our friends decided to share the pork bone soup, while I opted for the #14 bulgogi beef soup with veggies and glass noodles. My husband chose a bibimbap and added an extra order of bulgogi. The banchan was a highlight, especially the mushrooms, which you don't see too often. The steamed egg that came with our friends' combo set was perfectly warm and fluffy. Although this place is known for its soondae blood sausages, no one in our group was adventurous enough to try it. Still, we were very happy with what we ordered and enjoyed a hearty meal despite the chilly LA weather. The service was friendly, and the staff made sure my hot tea was refilled often.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and was pretty disappointed. I guess we got the wrong items? I really wanted bossam and it wasn't to my liking. It just didn't taste fresh. We also ordered kimchi fried rice which was decent and an order of yuk dae jang. I was expecting some flour noodles but it came with glass noodles. I'm not sure what the traditional soup comes with but I prefer the flour type noodles more. The soup flavor was ok. Overall, I was disappointed and have to say I won't be back.

I've seen this place pop up on my recommended for awhile and decided to visit for dinner! I saw that they offer a great lunch special, so will definitely be back. Bossam: Pork belly was tender with a good amount of fat on it! I enjoyed the accompaniments, but the cabbage was a tad overly salted. For the price of $14.99, I thought this was a great deal given the amount of pork belly provided!Soondae Combo with Spicy Pork Belly Soup: I was really craving soondae and this really hit the spot for me. Both the soondae and the soup come veryyy lightly salted so that you can add salt (and other seasonings like perilla powder and chili oil) to your liking. The soup was a little too fatty for me but came with LOTS of pork belly. Bibimbap: tasty and came with lots of veggie, but my minor gripe with many Korean places is that the stone pot never gets hot enough to crisp up more of the rice. I loved the banchan, and service was attentive and refilled our banchan with more!

Came here during lunch time on a weekday & it wasn't busy. Service was pretty efficient tooBrought my friend here for her first taste of mool naengmyun (cold buckwheat noodle) & she absolutely loved it! We also ordered the kalbi & the bossam. Both were amazing! Especially the bossam, I can have that all day!
