GRILLED CHEESE ONIGIRI Pros:- clean facility. Tables chairs clean. Restroom clean. - variety of different rice balls - price is good not expensive. - Grilled cheese is my favorite. The texture of the rice outside is crispy (like when the bottom of the pan of fried rice) and warm soft inside. Their sweet soy sauce sesame oil dip is amazing lil delicious! Cons:- do not accept cash- boring drink selection (water, Diet Coke, coke, sprite only) I recommend they get some Japanese sodas teas- when busy there can be a wait so I recommend ordering ahead

If you're looking for a Jichan's replacement, you won't find it here. Overall the taste was good, but not super flavorful. Their onigiri aren't all freshly made, but are kept warm in the display cases. Something about their onigiri gives it a heavy feeling when you eat it, and not in the best way. Someone had suggested it's cause their rice seems a little mushy, which I agree with. The karaage is heavily battered and there are some extra crunchy bits which I liked, but it's not traditional karaage shape or size. There's a free parking lot, and parking was easy to find. The place didn't seem too busy during Thursday lunchtime. They have plenty of benches to sit on while you wait for your order and separate tables to eat at.

Delicious! Went around dinner time with the husband and son. The food counters look empty but don't be fooled, they can make onigiri and will tell you if they ran out of certain ones. Get your onigiri GRILLED! Crispy rice is tasty rice. At least for me, the salmon onigiri covered in their sauce and grilled is good! Chicken was brined, crispy and delicious. The place was clean and had a minimalist aesthetic. The service was great, friendly, and informative. The only onigiri places I had experienced was in Hawaii so this is a nice change of pace for being close by. Give it a try!

I realized very quickly that going in the afternoon wasn't a good idea. Most of their stuff was gone and they prioritize mobile orders over having the food out. I'd wanted the mozzarella one but that was gone and given to mobile orders. The spam ones were food but nothing special. I don't even remember what the rest were as nothing was memorable per say. I could easily make any of this at home and cheaper. That was my biggest issue. Too pricey for this stuff. It's novelty. Oh and the shopping center it's in is super small and the place itself is insanely bare bones as, again, it's made extremely clear they mostly want pick up, not eat in. It left me with no desire to return.

Riceballs will always have a part of my heart and I was so excited when I found out that a riceball shop was opening in my hometown. This establishment is located right at the i-10 exit in a plaza shared by a laundromat and fishing shop. Parking can be a little tight and there is only one entrance/exit to this plaza.Mogu Mogu was very clean. There are a few small tables against a wall if you decide to eat in. It wasn't packed but a good amount of foot traffic came in while I was there. Because it is riceballs, food came out rather quickly with exception of some of the fried items. Grilled salmon onigiri being one.I picked the tuna mayo, grilled salmon and karaage riceballs. The grilled salmon had to be my favorite at it was grilled(fried) to be crispy on the outside. The other two was good although the seaweed was a little sad since it was prepared a while.Overall, I had a good experience. I would definitely visit Mogu Mogu and try more.

Came on a weekday at noon and it was relatively quiet. Most of the onigiris were out of stock so selection was very limited but the staff was attentive and said they would try to make more as soon as possible. Plenty of seating. The salmon onigiri (original and grilled) were hot and fresh but the salmon flavor wasn't as pronounced as I hoped it would be. The salmon was mixed into the rice. The flavor of the onigiri, however, was still good and gave comfort food vibes. Definitely a more casual setting. Price was reasonable.

When we went into Mogu Mogu, we were worried that they were sold out because the display cases were mostly empty. However, when we asked, they had a few of the flavors behind the counter. The staff member we spoke with seemed to have little knowledge about the ingredients or flavors of the onigiri. The regular onigiri combo came with two onigiri, two Karaage, and a drink for $12. The portions were generous and I thought it was a good price.Unfortunately, we were a little underwhelmed by the onigiri and the Karaage. The onigiri were fine, but just fine. Not good, not bad, just somewhere in the middle. The Karaage was very flavorful, but lukewarm and not crispy. There is a shared parking lot, but it can get very busy! There is also some seating, but the restaurant is fairly small and I would recommend taking the food to go.

THIS PLACE IS FIRE! I am such a sucker for good rice balls and these are excellent! Not too expensive too, prices ranging 3.50$-4.50$. And their protein portions are thick. I ordered the mentaiko tamago (LOVE), pork belly with shiso leaf, and the unagi. All of them were wonderful and the rice was perfectly sticky and well balanced. Some other places have the worst protein to rice ratio, but not Mogu Mogu.I went early morning Sunday and was greeted by an older friendly gentleman. I don't know if he owns the shop but he just exuded passion and care for his food, even though we only spoke briefly. I paid with credit card but there wasn't an option to tip, so bring some extra cash! I will definitely be back.

Super excited there's a new onigiris place in the SGV neighborhood ever since Jichan's closed down! It's owned by the head chef of Jichan's! Ordered the large combo which came with 3 onigiris, karaage chicken, and a soda. For the originis, I got the Chicken Karage, Mentaiko with Tamago, Grilled Salmon with Shiso Leaf, and Buta Kakuni with Spicy Miso. The food was delectable and super satisfying. Finished the entire meal within seconds and was licking off the sauces (TMI! lol) Everything tasted very delicious and definitely cost worthy. Can't wait to go back to try their other onigiris! Service was awesome, very quick and super friendly. The interior felt a bit bigger than Jichan's. There are tables to dine-in inside. They're located in a small plaza off Walnut Grove Ave. and Hellman Ave. Limited parking inside the small lot as they share it with a laundromat and other businesses.
