Pretty good. Not great. The cheese pizza slice I thought the sauce was tasty and I loved the crust. Not enough cheese overall, Got the Al's roast beef sandwich. I thought the beef was good but kind of dry. An au jus to dip it in like a French dip would have vastly improved it. I'd like to return and try the pasta but it's so far away so I don't know. I'm in northwest HB and this is in extreme SE HB.

Massimo's is my family's favorite casual pizza and B'day party place. Not only is it nearby but the food and service is non pariel. They always seem to aim to please. I go for the garbage pizza's ( pepperoni, sausage onion, green pepper, garlic, olives mushrooms with lotsa anchovey's) salads and subs, especially ever since LUCCI'S closed. The salads are great, the pizza's are great even without anchovy's. Their subs are pretty good but I was spoiled with LUCCI'S subs and EYEtalian dressing. My thing is that I only order food at restaurants that o don't make at home. I never order spaghetti with polpette, lasagna and linguini with melanzana, etc. Many times we'll order take out for impromptu family gatherings. I've been happily eating here for a million years. My brothers ate here, my son ate here. I've never had a bad meal here and I always get great service. Pizza is excellent and probably the closest to New York pizza around. The vibe is old school mom and pop pizza shop which is a hit amongst those who know what a NY pizza shop is about. Service is next to none. These people love their customers. Stop in and stay awhile bring your crew you'll be glad you did.

This is truly the best pizza I've had in California. I ordered it from my car while I was driving from Huntington Beach to San Diego with my sleeping 3 month old granddaughter in the back seat. The gentleman delivered it to my car so I wouldn't have to wake her or leave her. Delicious fresh mushroom pizza with an amazing crust AND great service.
