a pleasant surprise when I went in last night! i've loved the location for a glass of wine and appetizers throught the last 15 plus years. Great wines, and the company is amazingly warm and friendly. I had the dumplings and they were the most heavenly I have ever had. Next time will be getting one of their Soup main dishes. the entire menu looks insane. This is gourmet Thai food. reminds me of a place you can only find in San Francisco or New York City. Cannot wait to go back and expecting this place to be super busy soon as much as I would like it to stay new and unheard of for a quiet dinner haha. yummmy! can't wait!

[LOCATION]: Located on the famous Main Street that leads to Huntington Beach pier, Mama's didn't disappoint. This is prime location and I also found out she owns Sushi on Fire next door. [PARKING]: We were lucky to find meter parking that evening, but there are also parking structures near by. [AMBIANCE]: The decor in this restaurant was bright and inviting just like their staff. They welcomed us with smiles and checked on us frequently. They packed our leftovers and even offer to bring me a candle for my birthday cake. [FOOD]: Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Each dish was colorful and packed with so much flavor. They definitely mastered Thai culinary by combining different flavors and textures to create the perfect dish. We savored each one. Crispy Trout (8/10): Huge! Made to share and fried to perfection. Dip it into the sauce for some tangy heat or pair it with the apple slaw for some sweetness.Wagyu Panang Stack (9/10): Never heard of a Thai restaurant serving a Wagyu meat patty with curry before, but we were pleasantly surprised with this one. The patty had a nice crust around it and paired super well with the Panang curry. I think this is their rendition of a loco moco.Yellowtail Collar (7/10): This was good, but basic and our least favorite. The fish was just stir-fried with some greens in their savory garlic black pepper sauce.Short Rib Khao Soi (10/10): This was the absolute STAR of the show and worth the hefty price tag. The short rib was humongous (practically the size of a dinosaur). We didn't need a knife either because the meat was so tender and felled right off the bone!!! Eat it with the crispy noodles, creamy coconut curry, and squeeze some lime on top and wahhhlahhh you get the perfect bite. [VERDICT]: Mama's -- You guys became my favorite Thai restaurant. We're definitely coming back to try more specials. Keep up the good work.

Mama does it again! She now owns 3 fabulous restaurants on Main St. The others being Sushi On Fire and Shabu On Fire. And I was able to get a picture with her! This was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The yellow curry is unbeatable. Hands down the best Thai Curry of my life! Try it with the nice, light, and airy Roti bread as an appetizer. Next time I want to get 2 orders of the Roti Dip, I can't stop eating it!Other appetizers that were pretty good were the Egg Rolls, the Northern Thai Sausage, and the Green Delight Dumplings. The latter of which come with a spicy green curry. Good but not as amazing as the yellow curry (which is not spicy). The Pad Kee Mao, Drunken Noodles were good and spicy. My wife loved them.Next time we want to try the soups. Also what everybody seems to be ordering is the Khao Soi which is a huge bowl containing a variety of things including curry, your choice of meat, and a side stack of crispy noodles.I love the Singha Thai beer! I also tried the secret menu item Beer Lao dark lager, but I still love Singha the best. My wife was happy that they had New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine. They also provide complimentary Sake!Nicely renovated place with warm ambience and friendly staff. Even the chef comes out periodically to see how everybody is doing.

We ate here completely by chance, and I'm so glad we did! Mama's on Main Thai House did not disappoint. Service was great! Here's the details on what we ordered:- cream soda: very floral, good but I would try the Thai tea next time- chicken satay (named chicken stay on the menu): YUM, loved the peanut sauce, chicken had great flavor- tom yum soup with chicken: my favorite item!!! So full of flavor, I loved it! My only comment would be to remove the aromatics, I had a difficult time sifting through the lime leaves and lemongrass. Loved the coconut milk on the side addition. -pad Thai with chicken and tofu: my partner ordered this and liked it, I thought it was good too.- mango sticky rice: sooo yummy, I loved the toasted coconut and so much mango on the plate, we loved it. I have one note for the restaurant, please lower the music volume, we weren't sitting directly under the speaker and I still felt like I was shouting.

Mama-liscious! Think Sushi on fire (HB & LB) but Thai! Mama is the same owner and also owns Shabu on fire, Thai on fire in FV (***** star) and yes this place! High quality and tasty like her other restaurants. Ok the food...Thai-luscious! Started with pot sticker app which had a thin spicy Thai saiice. My wife got the pad-see-ew (her fav) and loved it. Me - Panang wagyu stack which was a crispy outside but fresh Pattie that was different and very good. Despite being stuffed we opted for the mango sticky rice dessert which was great too. It was served deconstructed, fresh & fun and came with spoon of condensed milk sprinkled with toasted coconut. We walked away stuffed but very satisfied. Tip: try this place before the lines are out the door and park in the free 90 minute parking structure across the street.Soft opening - Hard success!

I had an incredible lunch experience at Mamas on Main! The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.We ordered the salmon and the Wagyu stack, and both dishes were absolutely outstanding. The salmon was perfectly cooked--tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with its accompaniments. The Wagyu stack was next-level delicious--rich, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Every bite was a perfect balance of flavors and textures, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to quality ingredients and expert preparation. Best of all, the chef came out and chatted with us.Mamas on Main has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite Thai restaurants. I can't wait to come back and try more of their amazing dishes. Highly recommend!

Soft opening, limited menu but seriously amazing!! The dumplings are a must appetizer, with the secret spicy sauce. Our entrees were on point with flavors exploding in my mouth. Nice ambience, Mama wants to do some more decor, but it's very tasteful and relaxing. Service great as usual, Mama runs a tight ship. Recommend, look forward to a full opening.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mommas on Main, a Thai restaurant that exceeded our expectations with its authentic cuisine and outstanding service. The Roti Dip was a delightful start, featuring warm, flaky bread paired with a rich, flavorful curry sauce that set the tone for the meal.We had the Yellow tail collar, pad see ew, pad Thai, crispy pork, and Salmon fried rice. Everything was delicious. The service was impeccable; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure that our dining experience was exceptional. Their genuine hospitality added to the overall charm of the restaurant, making it a place I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an authentic Thai dining experience.
