Came to Madres for Sunday brunch and we were greeted by our server, Jackie, who was so sweet and friendly. She walked us through the menu and answered all of our questions. The huevos rancheros were sooo good, along with the hashbrowns, I finished the whole plate! My friend and I also had a sweet tooth so we went with Jackie's recommendation and ordered The Journey strawberry pancakes! Talk about delicious!

The menu is very interesting. It's basically a Mexican breakfast and lunch place. They have fun things like a Coffee flight. They have a lot of fun coffee drinks, but serving them hot seem to be a bit of a challenge It has an upbeat cheery vibe which draws in a lot of younger people. The portions are generous. The servers are attentive and pleasant. Their one challenge is to get the food to the table all at once. Or. To follow up with a request, such as water or heat up my coffee. I think the kitchen might have a few challenges. The food was good, but not amazing. I ordered one thing and ended up with another, the. The birria benedict. The meat was good and the Benedict was good, but it locked pizazz . They serve a salad with their meals, which is definitely not a common thing to do but a great touch. We all need to eat more vegetables! The chili Achilles looked fantastic. I would go there again and try something else and see how it goes. I think they're trying really hard.

Food - I ordered the madres lemonade and "the one". The lemonade was really interesting had a coconut milk base with strawberries in it, which gave it a creamy texture with a sweet finish, definitely not your conventional lemonade but it is still good. It kind of rides this line of being sweet and sour but instead of being harmonized it feels a bit like a tug of war. For the sandwich, the bread had a perfect milky/pillowy texture and gave a Texas toast vibe. The meat was very flavorful and all the ingredients were cooked well and gave the sandwich a dynamic range of texture from crunchy with the chicharons and bacon, to soft with the tender meat. The consume supplied as well was very standard but done well. The potatoes were done perfectly where they had a nice golden crust on the outside with a flufffy soft yellow inside texture.Service - the service was quick and efficient, but I ordered the golden bowl for takeout for my mother which I think was supposed to have salmon in it but there was no salmon, and the portion was extremely smaller than what I expected which is disappointing. I definitely should've checked before just taking it and leaving which is my fault, but it's still frustrating nonetheless.Ambiance - fairly typical for what you'd expect from a diner

Not your typical cutesy snooty brunch spot you'd find in La or the OC. Vibe here is friendly, artistic however the music was a bit for brunch they had EDM music on. I still liked it, my sister on the other hand wasn't particularly into it. Our waiter was very polite, friendly and accommodating. The food presentation was beautifully done on my pistachio latte to waffles and churro French toast. Everything was delightful nothing too sweet or overdone. Parking is easy, they share a lot with Jack n the box. I really loved how quickly we got our food, it was still warm when it got to us. I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Decided to branch out from the Chilaquiles I always order and unfortunately it wasn't a great decision. Neither the birria omelette & on fire waffle met our expectations. Both were just okay, but not any better than if I was to make them at home. Which might be where the disappointment comes from, this restaurant prides itself in giving dishes unique twists, but these dishes were mediocre and certainly not worth $20 each...I'll be sticking to the Chilaquiles.

I was excited to try Madres Brunch in Placentia, especially since they specialize in unique coffee options and coffee flights, with a full coffee bar. The drink menu was impressive, offering a variety of options, and the coffee itself was strong but on the sweeter side.We ordered the churro French toast and the birria omelet. The churro French toast was a decent size but churro was pretty stale... The birria omelette was a bit of a letdown--it was surprisingly small and didn't quite hit the mark in terms of flavor. The biggest issue was the service. While the host was friendly and welcoming, our server didn't seem to pay much attention to the details or our request. We specifically asked for our French toast to be served after the savory dishes so it wouldn't sit there getting cold while we ate our main entree. She confirmed this a couple of times, but of course, our French toast arrived before the savory dish. When I pointed it out, she didn't seem to care and asked what do I mean by that.To add to the frustration, we weren't given utensils right away, even though we had asked for them. After asking a third time, another server brought them over, but our original server didn't check on us again until we had to ask for straws. She never came back with the straws until we asked again.Overall, the food and drinks were just average and nothing extraordinary. The service was disappointing, and I'm not sure I'd make the drive back for another visit. While the coffee and menu options are fun, the lack of attention to detail and the so-so food make me hesitant to recommend it.

We went out for brunch on Thanksgiving Day, and the food did not disappoint! The standout of the meal was the country potatoes--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The birria omelet was absolutely delicious, complemented by a flavorful consommé.The decor was charming and bright, making it an ideal spot for Instagram-worthy photos. Our server was attentive and did a great job overall. One tip: don't arrive too hungry, as the food does take a bit of time to come out. Otherwise, it's a fantastic spot for a leisurely brunch!

Tucked away in an unassuming parking lot, Madres Brunch is a delightful surprise. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by fun wall art celebrating pop culture and animations. It offers a playful vibe that immediately sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The space is spotless, with plenty of open seating, making it ideal for a weekend brunch. We were greeted promptly by Angel, our server, who was not only helpful but genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the menu. He even mentioned it was their second anniversary, which added a celebratory touch to the experience. Angel's passion for the restaurant's offerings made choosing our meal easy, and his energy was a highlight of the visit. For drinks, we started with a classic latte and a green apple mimosa. The latte was bold and flavorful, the kind that makes you stop and appreciate the barista's craft. The green apple mimosa was on the sweeter side, so it might not be for everyone, but it's a fun twist for those with a sweet tooth. Now for the food: we ordered the chilaquiles verdes with birria and the French toast. The chilaquiles were an absolute standout. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the birria was tender and juicy. It's easily one of the best I've had in a while. The French toast delivered just the right amount of sweetness to round out the meal.I'll definitely be back!

Waited 40 minutes , could've joined earlier while driving there but o well. Parking lot was full but we got lucky. Not enough spots for all visitors so some people were parking on the streets. Restaurant had B rating, but it seemed clean. Bathrooms were also clean. Decor in the tent was nice with greenery. Food was the most disappointing. Waffles were way too sweet and the texture was dense and not balanced with the overpowering sauces. The food makes for good pictures, but the taste has to be tempered a bit. I think they need to find balance. Chilaquiles tastes great! This dish from what I understand should be pretty heavy so I was expecting it. Great first 10 bites but I couldn't finish it. It was too heavy for a single person to finish. I think ideally what we should've done was order and shared the chilaquiles. Skip the sweets and got some drinks. Not a place I would go back to try, but didn't regret coming.
