Why's the review so bad lol? I've been to all their restaurants in NorCal, granted this one is not as good as them but it still wasn't bad. It's more than acceptable for Hunan cuisine around here. Maybe too greasy, but it wasn't terrible. We ordered 龍鬚菜 - I was pleasantly surprised to see it in the menu as it is not a commonly found dish in California. It was tasty, and the aroma of Szechuan pepper was on point. Loved it. 5/5.一碗香 - their sister store Hunan Impression in NorCal makes a better version of this dish, but I still liked it. 4/5 stars.Service and waiters were nice and polite, really nothing to complain about.I do however wish they have more selection of dishes, like their NorCal sister stores.I'll be back for more though!

Came on a weekend with friends. Heated it was the first in LA from its original location in No. Cal. The place was packed, but we were lucky to be seated shortly. The servers were very nice, and the food was prepared fast. The place was clean, as it had just opened for a few months, and not too loud, either. The food was disappointing. We ordered spinach, thinking the greens would replace some of the greasy ingredients in the meat items we ordered. It was very salty. I could not even taste the spinach. The "Cold Hani Red Rice Noodles with OilMushrooms" was okay. It was supposed to be their house's special dish, but it did not fly. The texture of the rice noodles was good and not too hard. The special chili oil sauce with mushrooms was good but not tasty enough for me to remember or want to return. The "Jasmine Tea w/ Osmanthus Fermented Rice Milk" was bland. If it's not the flakes of osmanthus on the top of the drink, I cannot tell. I could not taste the fermented rice milk, either. The "Braised Pig Feet with Reserved Recipe" was cooked thoroughly enough--they were very soft. But I could not tell if they were cooked with mei gan cai, which is mentioned on the menu. It's like eating another braised pig foot. I would expect the food to still preserve the ingredients' taste. Otherwise, why even bother using it if it will eventually be overkill? Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with the food. My friend, who loved their location in North California, also felt the same way.

I am surprised most of the reviews say this is Hunan food when I think most of it is Yunnan. Yunnan is a province that borders China and Myanmar, and as someone of Burmese descent, I recognized a lot of ingredients that are eaten in Myanmar! I was pleasantly surprised by the pumpkins leaves - I LOVE them and would eat them in Shan State in Myanmar. (I lived in Myanmar for a year.)A lot of the food is spicy and requires a lot of oil -- that just comes with the territory. If that kind of food is not for you, I would not recommend this restaurant. Personally, I loved it! Everything tasted so fresh and unique. I think there is a wide gap in tastes between recent immigrants from China in the US and Asians who grew up in the US. I lived in China for two years for work. The way this restaurant is run and how the food tastes is more similar to what you would experience in China.I loved everything I ate and another highlight for me was the milk pudding with fermented rice and osmanthus. The desserts were so refreshing and not too sweet. The service was great! Granted, everyone in our party speak Mandarin. I'm not sure how the experience would be for someone who does not speak Mandarin. The manager is super friendly. The restaurant itself is spacious and well decorated. The only thing to note is the bathroom was pretty dirty. The manager said they are consistently working on new dishes and have seasonal dishes as well. Can't wait to come back and try more things!

If you're looking for an authentic Hunan cuisine and love spicy food this is a great option! Ping's Bistro Together just recently opened in the every busy Hacienda Center on the corner of Azusa/Colima directly next door to Northern Cafe. There is plenty of parking in the huge parking lot. This place does have text RSVP or you can call ahead to book a table. Since its new the wait is pretty long. We came with a large party and got seated in about 20 minutes during peak dinner time on Saturday night. The menu is only via the QR code on the table where you also order off your phone. The majority of the items are spicy items and it's best to come with Chinese speaking friends if you don't speak. Yes the service is not great here as with most chinese restaurants but the food is very authentic. They do have a few vegetarian options. Look for the V symbol on the menu items. For those worried about the spice level the number of chili symbol also tell you how spicy the dish is. A few items can be adjusted for the mild eaters. For starters we got the Beef Roll with mint: It's literally mint rolled inside sliced beef topped with minced garlic and chili served on a bed of a chili soy sauce. This was just an OK item as it wasn't super flavorful but not very spicy either. Just eating straight garlic beef with soy sauce. Our favorite app was: Lettuce Stem Salad with Sichuan Peppers - It's like pickled radish like with a sweet spicy sichuan pepper cold mixture. It does perfectly with any rice dish with that sweet and spicy flavorThe BEST item we had was signature grilled fish with lemongrass. This feels like a Thai like dish on the bed of bamboo leaves but topped with alot of cumin and herbs served with fresh lemon wedges. If you love fresh grilled fish this is totally delicious with its flakey whole fish. For spicy lovers the Dai Style Sautéed Beef with Cilantro was super delicious! But OMG its like level 8 spicy so you absolutely WILL be sweating literally on the top of your head and be downing your rice and prepare your milk tea to save your burning tongue. But its so dang good yet spicy. It's got a great cumin flavor on the tongue until the the sichaun tiny chopped peppers hit on the finish and you feel the burn. Filler rice item is totally the Fried Rice with Wild Fungi & Ham & Seasonal Greens! It's serves exactly 6 bowls and great for all these foods. It's like a mushroom-ish stir fry with tiny chopped ham.Overall a great new addition to the many choices in the Rowland/City of Industry area. Yes you must be semi-aggressive here to get good service and yes you need to speak Mandarin. But it's some good authentic Hunan good eats that we absolutely will be back again for to try other tasty burning eats. Hot clay pots for next round!
