Former O'shine Taiwanese Kitchen is no longer here; it's now a Japanese restaurant with tasty and affordable dishes.Although the grilled yellowtail collar was sold out, the waiter's recommendation of the red snapper head proved to be an excellent choice. The fish was expertly cooked, resulting in juicy, flavorful meat that was rich but not heavy. The light and tangy ponzu sauce was the perfect accompaniment, enhancing the taste of the fish. This was the first time I'd ever eaten an entire fish head, leaving no meat behind. From the combo box, I chose the chicken karaage and the chef's choice sushi. As always, the Japanese fried chicken was excellent, and the custom-made mayonnaise took it to another level. The salad, a side dish in the combo box, was delicious with its light, sweet, and sour ginger dressing. The chef, who I think owns the place, gave me a free minced tuna sushi, and it was so fresh and tasty.

Last week while on a business work trip to CA, I discovered Little Ferry Sushi. I dined on a Thursday evening around 7:30 pm and was glad to see there was a waiting list for a table. I figured that is a good sign I am waiting for good sushi. I waited about 15 min for a table and noticed they do have a happy hour menu from 8- close. I got a few items off such as the spicy tuna roll, the crispy zucchini appetizer and shrimp tempura appetizer. All were very good and the dipping sauce for the zucchini was actually one of my favorites. I preferred that over the tempura sauce. I also ordered their Aloha roll and I can't remember what was in it, but I know it was a solid roll and fresh!Great experience here and would recommend if you're in the area.

Very good sushi spot with fresh fish and delicious rolls! Not the best I've ever had, but still a solid place with creative combinations of ingredients to make for an interesting bite every time. It's a cute, small restaurant with friendly staff. Would recommend!

Amazing discovery of Little Ferry Sushi in Lake Forest last week. A friend and I shared some rolls, zucchini fries, and their sashimi combo for dinner! The wait was short, and they have a paper wait list system for busy times. For starters, their zucchini fries were great! Super-hot and fresh, and made for a unique appetizer. They were served with a delicious sweet onion mayo! The sashimi combo was great, and I enjoyed all the cuts. 12 pieces were assorted on a plate of the chef's choices. Presentation of the rolls were clean and easy to eat! We got the Ocean Drive roll and the Holy Cow Roll. My favorite of the two was the Ocean Drive, but I love the torched taste on the Holy Cow roll too.For a casual Japanese eatery, I think their standards for sushi are better and high quality from what we ordered! There's a variety of appetizers, rolls, and I like how they offer combo boxes and certain specials for HH. I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you can!

We came here for one of my coworker's birthdays today. At first I didn't really have any expectations - but let me tell you, Little Ferry Sushi was packed by the time we finished our meal. And for good reason too. Their service was great and food was delicious AND pricing was extremely reasonable. What's not to like?! The miso soup they start you off with was really good - perfect amount of seasoning in the soup. The sashimi set we got all tasted really fresh and was very enjoyable. Since we all got different rolls, we all tried one of each piece of the rolls and they were all very tasty. Inside walkways are pretty narrow, but enough for comfort at each table. I will definitely be back to try more of their food items. Very good find!

Pretty good spot for sushi in Lake Forest! We came here on a Tuesday for an early dinner and were seated right away. Very friendly service, but a little rushed. Plenty of open tables at this time.We ordered shrimp tempura and two rolls: Baja Yellowtail and Mango Tango, with an order of Little Ferry to go. The tempura was great - nice and crunchy, and piping hot. My son did not care for the heat since he had to wait a bit before diffing in. The rolls were all pretty good. The Baja Yellowtail had a wonderful mix of spice and tang, along with the crunch of the pepper and cucumber. The Mango Tango was nice and mango-y - my son loved it. I thought the Baja was a lot tastier. The Little Ferry was a great surprise - I liked the fried garlic on top, and the seared fish was delicious. We also got an order of strawberry mochi ice cream, and I like how they cut the pieces in half - much more manageable sizes. Each order comes with 2 mochi pieces - I wonder why you can't mix and match?Anyway, service was friendly, but felt like they were rushing us a little bit. My son just grabbed the last tempura and someone materialized to take the plate away - he wasn't done with the sauce yet. Right when I grabbed the last piece of sushi on the plates, they took them away. I wanted to have more of the masago that was on there! And they collected the check and payment before we were finished with the ice cream. Efficient, perhaps? Too efficient? All good - we enjoyed our brief time there!

A friend recommended this spot so my family and I stopped in for dinner tonight. We got there around 5 which was just in time before the crowd. The staff was very friendly. We had the coconut shrimp which was perfectly crispy and the dipping sauce was good. I had the chicken teriyaki with a California roll bento box. The miso soup and bento was good. We will definitely be back soon.

Little Ferry Sushi in Lake Forest is such a great relatively new sushi joint in Lake Forest. The sushi is super fresh, tastes amazing, and the prices are totally reasonable. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Whether you're grabbing lunch or having a chill dinner, this place hits the spot. Definitely worth checking out if you're in this part of Lake Forest.I would also totally drive 15-30 minutes for sushi from place.

A small place with a mighty meal. Blown away how great the sushi is combined with excellent service. Are they busy? Yes. But they excel in all areas.
