MARINATED SWEET SOY CUCUMBER GARLIC appetizer:-- the wife and I like this one better than the prior restaurant that was here (not much has changed visually which is fine...menu similar but different)-- moderate or more garlic amountRATING = AWOOD EAR MUSHROOM appetizer:-- great texture and nice marinade-- tasty-- a very solid renditionRATING = ATENDER WHITE FRIED FISH IN CHILI OIL:-- a bit too spicy for me but the wife tore into it-- a nibbled at the fish and loved it-- lovely Christmas tree colorsRATING = ABEEF ROLL:-- the cilantro and marinated beef were solid-- no pickled veggies which was nice to have those absent-- good portion-- even better nuked at home and watching the dough get soft and oily-- a very solid rendition -- nice to see on the menu as you do not see it everywhereRATING = ABEEF CHOW FUN NOODLES:-- not the "smokiest in the West" but decent smoke-- good tasting and quantity is solid-- nice to see on the menu as you do not see it everywhereRATING = A-Great service. Attentive and efficient.

We tried a variety of dishes, the noodle soup broth was a little disappointing and lacked flavor, but the meat portions were generous. I also wished the pan fire pork baos were more crispy on the bottom, and I was also expecting more soup to be inside. The highlight of the meal was the spicy tofu with beef belly, the portions were huge and the flavor of the soup was even better than the other noodle soups we tried. If I were to go back, I would definitely order from the entree menu instead of the noodles, rice, or dumplings menu. Our waiter was attentive and constantly refilled our water, and the spot was filled with modern decor and lighting.

The beef noodle soup and cucumber salad are the best here! The portions are great for the price and the dishes are very flavorful. The braised beef entree would be great with plain rice or fried rice. We made the mistake of ordering it with the Dandan noodles which was a bit too salty for our liking. The service is fast and there's plenty of parking in the lot. We LOVE this restaurant for their authentic dishes and come at least twice a month!

As most restaurants in Irvine were closed by 10:30-11pm, my friend and I discovered Kirin. As we arrived, only one table of diners were left eating, and we figured they were closing sooner than we thought. After self-ordering at the kiosk, we received our food shortly and then a worker came up to inform us they actually closed at 11:20pm, not 11:45pm. We did have to shove the food down, but I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty everything was. The noodles in my Pork Sparerib Noodle were soft and chewy, and I can tell they were made fresh. I enjoyed how easily the pork on the sprerib fell off the bone. The toppings of peas and Bok choy were added some nice greens to the bowl and was good with the broth. The soup wasn't too salty either, and I added their chili oil and some soy sauce for more flavor. My friend liked his Dan Dan Noodles, however, his sauce was more of a soupy appearance instead of a Dan Dan Sauce. We both enjoyed our meals here and were satisfied quickly!

It's hard giving 3 stars because out of 5 it seems so low BUT I just felt the food was pretty average. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, I'd say it was pretty good. We got the cucumber salad, green beans, pork & chive dumplings, and the pork potstickers. The potstickers didn't have that good crunch on the bottom like you'd expect. And usually places put the crunchy side face up so that it maintains the cronch. The pork & chive dumplings were okay - it wasn't suuuper flavorful and they came out sort of warm but not super hot even though they just made it. The green beans were the star! They had a toooon of garlic which I loved. The cucumber salad was cold, crunchy & refreshing to balance all the hot items.

I'm so happy a legit authentic Chinese restaurant opened up in south oc. We really love the Xiao long bao, it's very juicy and big size. If you like spicy I recommend the spicy cold chicken dish. All the food here is good and the restaurant is clean and bright with attentive staff.

Kirin Noodle House took over the space that used to be the Beijing Noodle House about 3 months ago. It has more selections and customers responded favorably. It was a full house by the time we finished our lunch. We ordered more items than we should because I wanted to try a few things on their menu. The hot and sour soup is for two, but I consumed more than my fair share. The chives pancakes was smaller than I hoped for but they are tasty. The braised beef noodle soup is decent too.Service is just fair. That's what happens when there is only one server trying to take care of all the tables. I hope they hire more servers soon.

Very good! Tons of parking. Comfortable inside. Had their beef noodle soup, level 3 spice. Brisket was super tender. Lots of other dishes - cucumbers and green beans were excellent and the wontons on hot chile sauce were very good. Eggplant was good texture but too sweet for me. Good job, Kirin!
