Kamis Sushi

While our day to day sushi spot is a different spot, Kamis is our local spot for Omakase and quality sushi. We've only had good experiences with the service here. Alex is wonderful sushi chef and loves talking to you and is more than happy to talk you through your omakase experience and perhaps even make some recommendations or suggestions based on how you like what you have.The fish has consistently been good and well prepared (good texture, good temperature, good rice, good searing when done).Since we only come for sushi, we sit at the sushi bar every time and it's been great. The ambiance is nice, tasteful lighting and soft background music, along with a cozy interior allows the encounters (especially at the sushi bar) to feel intimate. Our kids (spoiled punks) had at one point gotten to the point where they were marking their own sushi orders and handing them over the counter and joking with the staff ^_^ If you're coming to visit, it's a great spot for some solid sushi. If you're in the area and want to build a relationship with a sushi place, it's a great place to be a regular.

This is a hidden gem! The outside is unassuming, but the inside is warm & inviting, and the food was great! We got to sit at the sushi bar before the lunch crowd came and had a great time talking with the chef and getting his recommendations.The chirashi bowl had a GREAT variety of textures and flavors. The nigiri was also excellent, with all kinds of topics from lemon juice, to caviar, to yuzu kosho. Our scallop came with torched miso and gold leaf flake. So good!!This was a perfect dining experience, and they have a discount for paying with Zelle! Can't wait to go back.

Been coming here for a while! Highly recommended. The service is always top notch, great daily specials, fresh fish and the parking isn't terrible. Little hidden gem! Highly recommended.

My daughter and I come here when I visit her at Cal Poly. It's her fave sushi spot. Service always friendly. Food consistent and delicious. Lots of parking available and plenty of room inside as well. I like they aren't playing loud music and you can just sit and enjoy your meal and conversation.

First visit with a co-worker for lunch. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was good, although slightly more expensive than other lunch options. We shared the "50/50" Combo ($31.15), which comes with 8 pcs sushi and 8 pcs sashimi and your choice of a soup or salad. We ordered an extra Miso Soup ($2.60) so we'd both have one. Finally, upon the recommendation of our waiter, we shared a Geisha Roll ($16.59), which has spicy tuna, avocado, and shrimp tempura inside, yellowtail and thin sliced jalapeño outside, and ponzu and sriracha on top...quite delicious! Overall, a nice little place with good service and fresh sushi/sashimi. I highly recommend you give them a try.

I searched for a sushi place and found this new place that recently opened. We got the spider roll, salmon teriyaki, and beef teriyaki. The spider roll was a bit of a letdown as there were only three pieces of soft shell crab instead of on each California roll. The beef teriyaki was a little too salty as they drenched it with the bulgogi sauce. The best thing was probably the salmon teriyaki. Solid piece of fish.It's not bad, but it wouldn't be my go-to.

Wow! The sushi here tastes so fresh! Strikingly impressive! The ambiance is nice and not so loud. I ordered the tiger roll and the salmon roll and miso soup! Nothing had a fishy taste to it! I eat sushi and I can tell you this is fresh! I def recommend these items and also the service was exemplary! Very attentive and very polite! Also suggested some items on the menu! The people here are friendly and very welcoming as soon as I came in! Can't who was my server was very attentive! Spectacular service! I like the fact that they close at 10pm because a lot of restaurants in the area in general close early. The vibe is great and so is the music choice! I will absolutely come back! I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the menu! If I can give this place a 10/10 I would! Again thanks again and I do recommend this place I approve!

We love Kamis Sushi!! Been coming here since around when they first opened - even though it's a bit pricey, it is the best quality sushi in the area. Always fresh and delicious! We love when they have tuna or salmon collars - sooo good!! My son could eat here every day! The staff is always so kind and welcoming!

If you want excellent fresh sushi at a great price, this is the spot! They have a wide variety or rolls and fish to satisfy your every craving.My wife and I came here for omakase and we chose the middle option, and we got the middle option of $99, and it came with 11 pieces of fish along with hot appetizers. The fish was all fresh and the variety was good. I liked the seasoning that he added to some of the fish, which included caviar on sweet shrimp and uni on scallop! The sushi chef explained each fish to us and he and the entire staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back!

Was a bit nervous when I came in because the place was completely empty on a Sunday afternoon, but the food was pretty good. Chirashi Bowl was reasonably priced and came with seven different types of sashimi (2 pieces each) and tamago. Salmon and tuna were really good, and so were most of the other sashimi in the bowl. Only item I didn't like was octopus, but that's because I don't like it in general. I thought the rice texture and temperature could've been little better. It was a bit warm and slightly mushy for sushi rice. Also ordered jumbo scallop sushi, which was excellent. Service was quick, but that's because the place was completely empty.
