Have ordered catering trays at least three times. Good food. Easy order process. Reasonably priced.

I came here on a Sunday during lunch and craved for some Filipino food in the area. Located at a shopping plaza next to Smart & Final Extra, I first heard of "Kainan sa Kanto" (Eatery on the Corner) because of my Tita who lives nearby. The small ambiance is very homey, in which they have a few tables, steam trays of their daily offerings and a few baked goods such as bagged pandesal in front. Service was pretty quick because they ask which items you want for a one or two item combo. Please note that they charge $1 more for beef or goat meat entrees and 50 cents if you're using a credit/debit card if the transaction is less than $20. As a result, I opted to pay in cash instead. I was pretty much impressed with their food quality. The kaldereta was a bit on the saltier side and kinda wished the beef was more soft. However, I liked the sauce because it was not too acidic. I'm truly I chose laing for the other entree. It was not dry and not too spicy and had the ideal umami taste. It had a perfect creamy texture of coconut milk blended with cooked taro leaves and pork bits. I even told the owner, "ang sarap po talaga ng luto niyo! Lalo na po yung laing niyo. (Your entrées are really tasty! Especially your laing". She even replied, "ay oo. Best seller ang laing namin. Binabalikan yan! (Yes. Our laing is the best seller. Patrons come back for it!). I was not able to finish my two item combo, so the owner offered some lids and a plastic bag to go. Before I left, I could not resist their turon. On the first bite, I immediately noticed the perfect crunchy texture and the sweetness I was looking for. I will definitely come back to Kainan Sa Kanto for my Filipino food cravings in the area.

More of a hole in the wall type of place. Would suggest take out only (they do have seats for dining in though). Food is delicious, but there are different prices for different meats ($11.99 for combo one, $12.99 for combo two before tax; extra charge depending on what you get)

Great little mom and pop type Filipino deli, or what some like to call "turo-turo" (aka point-point) restaurant. You can get a 1-entree or 2-entree combo with rice, pancit, or half rice/half pancit. You can choose from a rotating variety of entrees: adobo, lechon kawali, dinuguan, Bicol express, mungo, fried fish, laing, kare kare, etc. For dessert, they have homemade suman (lightly sweetened glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk) in three flavors: regular, ube, & cassava.I apologize from the lack of photos. We were starved when we bought our food and started eating as soon as we got home! The food was on par with many other Filipino delis, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I gave them 4 out of 5 stars for the tasty variety and personable service, but no dish was a standout or an exemplary sample of Filipino cooking. I will remember to include photos at my next visit.

Authentic and the food was delish. I ordered combo with two sides and an order of lumpia, they also called it Shanghai.I had half steamed rice and half pancit (the noodles) and lechón (the crispy pork) and tocino (the red, saucy pork). The lechón was so crispy and flavorful. They also give you a sauce for it and it was so good! Tastes very similar to carnitas. The tocino tastes like Chinese bbq pork but this was more tender. The only disappointment was the lumpia. I was looking forward to this the most and they had very little filling so you tasted was the wrapper. They were so little too. Definitely so not recommend the lumpia from here. Overall, will absolutely come here again and enjoy their amazing dishes.

Wonderful mom and pop dish up spot. I love box lunch Filipino and usually head to Orange or Cerritos. I didn't even know this was in my back yard till I did a search a couple weeks ago. The food was fresh and flavored perfectly. Not too salty or greasy. I love lichon kawali and theirs was super crispy. I got this for dinner and they were still very fresh. The lady serving me was just like a tita and gave me options. She said they have been there for 26 years! I'm coming back here again for sure. Even my picky 10 year old crushed the perfectly made rice and bbq pork.

Disappointed with the quality of the food. The kare kare is watery and runny might as well drink water. Waste of drive to go here

Showed up on Christmas Eve and was given a cold pan of pansit and cold chicken skewers and lumpia with barely any meat inside. We were really disappointed. We spent a lot of money for cold food.
