I had an amazing meal at Jong Ro Shul Lung Tang in Garden Grove, enjoying authentic Korean food. I would've missed the restaurant actually because the sign is in Korean except the word Jongro. While there are English translations of the dishes, I was lucky to have my friend Hee to help translate and share some fun facts about the dishes. (And to share the food with because the portions are too big for one person for sure) She told me that Gamjatang, which I absolutely loved, is a popular hangover cure for young people (kind of like menudo in Korean culture). I also learned that bossam is often eaten after making kimchi, and she even taught me how to say 잘 먹습니다! Here's everything we ate: Gamjatang - pork back bone stew Stir fried squid Bossam - thinly sliced boiled pork belly or shoulder which you eat with cabbage and other veggies and dipping sauces The portions are generous, so bring a friend to share the goodness!

Got the pork collarbone soup and was amazing. They do not skimp on the whole toasted perilla seeds. Provides a nice crunch and herbal flavour to the rich pork broth, which contain a good amount of fat from the back bone.

Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately captivated by the walls and windows covered in photos of mouthwatering dishes from their extensive menu. It made me wish I had a table for 20 just to try them all! We only ordered four dishes this time, and I couldn't help but feel a little sad about not being able to try more. Stella reassured me with a smile: "Don't worry, this place isn't going anywhere--just come back next time with more friends!" If you want some good authentic Korean food and good service go to this place! We ordered the chicken soup, spicy braised beef short ribs with cheese, and ultimate beef feast with oxtail, beef short rib, tribe, beef tongue, brisket. They are all so good but my favorite is the spicy braised beef short ribs. So flavorful, the beef pulled right off the bone and tender. Their chicken soup is a clean flavored broth, they soak the whole chicken in. The meat feast can feast portion is huge! And you get to try all the different kind of meat at once. Service js attentive, they asked us if they need to refill anything a few times. Overall this spot is a good Korean food spot!

After the night drinking at the Jacuzzi, we came to this restaurant asap to relieve us from the hangover. Trust me guys, you will feel way better. It's a go to spot for us whenever we craving something homey and filling. We order the kimchi stew and the pork back bone soup. The food is a 5/5. The soup keeps my stomach warm, especially during fall when it's kinda chilly. They also provide free side dishes such as kimchi, seafood pancake, pickled radish, and etc. I got so freaking full when we killed it. The aunties working there kind, but they can be a bit slow. If you feeling cold and want something to keep you warm, come through and support the locals!

Pretty much an OG staple n Garden Grove, Ca. Back in the days, when GG used to be the Orange County - KTown! I go for a comfort meal here. Their radish kimchi pairs well with their sullungtang. It's pretty bland so add salt to your acquired taste buds. We got their spicy braised short ribs, one of my faves there, along with the assort bossam plate. I wasn't a fan of their soondae but the bossam was chewy and tender. Definitely a spot with nice "ajumahs" serving you and your traditional decorations in the establishment. Very nostalgic!

We went here with a large party of about 12 people and they were able to accommodate us very easily. Also, the waitress was really friendly!I got the seafood pancake and it was really good on its own and dipped into soy sauce. They also gave the sides pictured to every table in our party.

It has been a while since I've been back to Jong Ro Shul Lung Tang. We stopped coming since prices were creeping up. However, since prices have skyrocketed everywhere, we decided to give it a try. The service is the same - friendly and helpful. They serve delicious ban chans (side dishes) with your food order. My hubby and I shared #14. Chicken Soup ($22.99). It was more than enough food between the two of us. This is a great soup to get if you want something that is clean and comforting. The ginseng is mild and the chicken is not dry. Prices are comparable to other Korean restaurants in the area so I will likely be coming back to Jong Ro Shul Lung Tang as I love their soups!

I will make this a multiple visit review.I normally order Jong ro gug bap. (2x2 row and col). Spicy beef soup w/ox knee, tripe, and mushroom. Mostly, all the soups are laid down with a thick bone broth base. The best thing about eating here for me is the banchan, which is the Korean side dishes. They are fresh and tasty. The radish kimchee is the bomb with the soups you order here.Another visit I had the spicy braised beef ribs. The first impression is that the dish had a lot of meat in it. Taste was really good as well. At first, I thought I was eating kalbi jjim, but this is not because it has a red sauce. We ended up taking this home. The vegetables weren't really cooked on the bottom, and the stone pot wasn't hot enough to cook them, and then a label from the bell pepper was left on it which tells me they didn't wash the bell pepper that good. That was a little half catastrophe, which I pointed out, and I ended up getting a special banchan dish.
