Service is always amazing here, I have never had a bad experience. Ambiance is very romantic, but you can bring kids too. The food is fantastic. You need to order the special "bread" - it is a light pizza with procuitto on it.I order the sole, cooked to perfection, nice and flakey. My daughter had the pasta with red sauce - she loved it. The tiramisu was nice and light.

Family member mentioned this place while we were in Newport Coast stating authentic Sicilian food and I was very interested. Great family owned and run Sicilian ristorante in a great location, great ambiance and a very welcoming staff made the evening wonderful. The food was amazing e delizioso! I felt like I was back on the island of Sicily at some of my favorito ristorante. The pasta, bread and pizza dough all made in house daily. This was very authentic Sicilian cuisine, all the dishes were amazing but I have to say the Bracciole was THER best I have ever had. The house made pasta cooked perfectly Al dente, the sole light flavorful and cooked perfectly, the veal was outstanding and the Milanese like a dish out of ristorante in the piazza of Palermo. Another dish that caught my palate was the Arrancini, a delizioso street food served in Sicily that brought back many memories and cravings from visiting my familia recently. The dolce also just as incredible as the entrees, many good choices and can't wait to try them all. After all the food we could consume Rosanna brought us house made Limoncello.....Mama Mia! This also was the best Limoncello I have had since we were on the island of Capri.I will return so I can explore the many specials as well as menu items. Now I would normally give Il Barone 5 stars because it was truly amazing, BUT I ordered a slice of Sfencone to go so I could have it for lunch the next day and I have not seen it on any menus in the states, it is another Sicilian street food that I so miss as well as my cousins both who have bakery in Italy and both make authentic Sfencone so I was so excited about trying Il Barone's authentic house made Sfencone and remembering this delizioso family tradition for me. The next day filled with excitement to try it I pulled the container out of the sack that Rosanna gave me the night before and what do I find but a container with house made foccaia NOT Sfencone. I was so disappointed that I was not going to experience and taste the Sfencone.I will be back Il Barone when we are back in town and only wish you were closer, and next visit maybe we will get Pepe as our server.Bon appetitto

Absolutely phenomenal made from scratch Italian food. Excellent service too. Frankie was a great server! Nice ambience. The place is located on busy PCH with limited parking, but they have Valet. We were actually able to find street parking. In fact they weren't too busy on Friday night and we didn't need a reservation. They have interesting daily specials for both appetizers and entrees, but we focused on the regular menu.We started with the Mozzarella Fritta appetizer and it had a nice quality cheese, just lightly fried, and served on top of a splendid marinara. We also got a bottle of Kim Crawford wine. We found out that they have a $25 corkage fee.The stuffed Gnocchi was mind blowing with a nice Alfredo sauce. The Ravioli Bolognese was incredibly flavorful. The Baba Orange Rum Cake was the perfect finale. It was like an Italian take on a Tres Leches Cake, so moist and nice.

Wow! My family and I were amazed by the food here. I lived in New York City for 6 years and have had my share of good quality Italian food, but the food here was top tier. Nothing disappointed from start to finish. We had the seasonal pizza special with mushroom, tomato, ricotta topped with a hot honey that was delicious! The pear Gorgonzola salad and the garlic bread were also amazing. My sister and I shared the gnocchi and the seasonal ravioli stuffed with mushroom topped with truffle and we are still talking about how good it was. We will most definitely be back! Highly recommend if you are looking for a fresh and homemade Italian spot. Service was also fantastic at this family owned spot.

My husband and I dined at IL Barone with friends on Friday evening. The service, wine, cocktails and food were all exceptional. Francesco, our waiter, was pleasant and patient; he answered all of our questions with details about the various entrees. The menu prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back for another wonderful dining experience at IL BARONE. NOTE: the parking meters on PCH are not a factor after 6pm.

Wow, this place has become our favorite Italian restaurant, just wish we lived a bit closer. We started with a pizza appetizer that melted in our mouths. We moved on to chicken Parmesan, butter nut squash ravioli, pepper gnocchi and ravioli with bolognese sauce. We all raved about our meals and promised each other we'd come back soon. Our waiter Francisco was very attentive as were the other staff walking around the restaurant. The one thing to be aware of is that it gets pretty noisy when the place fills up. Thanks Il Barbone for such a delicious meal!
