I love hopper & burr and have been coming here for years. They have such unique drinks and a seasonal menu so there's always something to try. I usually get a matcha latte and it's always perfect. We like to come here for a quick drink or even bring our laptops and work for a couple of hours since it's a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I think about the ricotta and jam toast on a weekly basis, it is soo good. But recently, I noticed the ricotta is spread really thinly and not as filled as before which I hope isn't the new way of making it. It used to be a perfect balance of creaminess and the tartness of the jam but now it's just mostly jam.. :(

Super disappointed. Wanted a place to study for a few hours while drinking coffee. Drove over here. Its either metered street parking or parking garage. I was craving sweet iced coffee. They didn't have very many selections so we went with 2 brown sugar latte with almond milk. I believe it's 1.75 extra per drink for the in-store almond milk, but it wasn't worth it. Our drinks were a light mustard color and curdled within 30 seconds and it tasted horrible. Barely any coffee taste or brown sugar taste. The only thing that was decent was the type of ice they used. Knowing I was going to be there for several hours, I wasn't willing to sit there with a full cup of coffee that I couldn't drink. We asked for a replacement and got brown sugar latte with regular milk and that was just a slight bit better but I still didnt finish half of it.I watched the barista make several drinks. They use very simple ingredients but I dont get how this place is so busy. Unfortunately, I was reminded why I needed to go to Bolsa for some good coffee and when you can make better coffee at home, that's a bad sign for the business. Nice staff, but I won't be returning.

One of my favorite coffee shops. The different flavor notes throughout one simple latte. They make all their syrups in house and their menu is ever changing by the season. On my top 10 for sure.

Walking into the store we were welcomed by a super nice barista! It being my first time here she was very helpful! I decided to go with a black iced tea! Which was very yummy! Didn't taste to dark and was on the lighter side! We also got an iced americano as well as a ham and cheese croissant! The only thing I didn't like about this place was seating! It seems to just be more of stools. It's more a stop and go place because if I were to come with a group I would be worried about seating

My partner and I visited on a Saturday around 4 PM and were able to find a few parking spots across the street. There was plenty of seating available when we arrived, and we decided to order the Litmus flight, which (if I recall correctly) included a pour-over, an espresso shot, and a latte (we opted for oat milk).A quick disclaimer: neither of us are coffee connoisseurs, so we couldn't really discern if there was anything particularly special about the coffee. While there wasn't anything wrong with the flight, I also can't say it stood out. Unfortunately, the pastry selection was pretty sparse during our visit, so I didn't get anything. The ambiance was nice, with a minimalist aesthetic and lots of white, open space. The staff were friendly and happy to answer our questions, and the books by the windowsill added a cozy touch. I could see this being a good spot for studying or a quick meeting.Unfortunately the coffee to be somewhat forgettable. I wouldn't go out of my way to return unless someone else invited me.

Definitely one of my must-stops before starting a fun day in Downtown Santa Ana!PARKING: Street parking, which can be easy or hard to find depending on when you go. My recommendation? Google "Downtown Santa Ana Parking" for a map of city-owned parking structures, which are all a pretty quick walk away from the shop. Why? On weekdays it's free until 5pm, and on weekends you get your first two hours free.WHAT WE ORDERED:- Iced chai latte- Seasonal: Root beerTHE DRINKS:The chai latte was delicious, perfectly spiced and not too diluted by the milk. What intrigued us the most was the root beer, which was a homemade root beer topped with espresso. I was definitely surprised by the combination - I didn't expect the two to work so well together! But it's probably an acquired taste, so if your tastebuds are less brave, I probably wouldn't order it.SERVICE:Amazing! You can tell they're taking their time and emphasizing quality. They make your drinks before you pay. And they love to answer questions.VIBES:Great for either catching up with friends or getting work done. Here's my work from coffee shop checklist:* OUTLETS: Yes, but few* WIFI/INTERNET: Yes* VOLUME: On the quieter side when we visited on the weekend* SEATING AVAILABILITY: Fairly good amount, both bar seating and tables* WATER: Pitcher that you can pour into a glass yourself* BATHROOMS: Yes, clean* LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions that I know ofBOTTOM LINE:A must-go especially if you're into creative and innovative drinks, but they still nail the more traditional drinks. The menu rotates by season.

A local bartender recommended this place and wasn't disappointed. It's a studio style coffee bar with lots of open space to study or just relax. The barista there was good at explaining what was on the menu and how things were made inhouse including their nut milks. I got the iced mocha with almond milk and I can tell from flavor and texture that indeed it was made inhouse because I've made almond milk at home and the little extra texture of the almond milk is evident so definitely everything is made on location so it's fresh. It's got a zen vibe so don't go if you're in a rush. Just go because you want to enjoy a morning coffee before starting the day off right!

Stopped here for an early afternoon latte. Had the option of simple syrup and brown sugar syrup. Opted for the brown sugar and it paired well with double shot of expresso with regular milk. It was delicious. The order was ready in a snap! Definitely worth the stop.

Great espresso and delicious pastries from a Long Beach bakery. I'm always a sucker for my espresso being served with sparkling water and they do it right here. Definitely stop by if you're in DT Santa Ana

Service was great! The barista was friendly, and I appreciated their skill with my latte art. The drink itself was good too and kept me writing that morning. I don't usually like to go to downtown Santa Ana bc of the parking, but I was able to find some for free in a structure nearby. The ambiance is pristine and minimalist, though I really wish they'd get rid of the tribal figurines. That's someone's culture, or if it isn't, then what's the purpose of having them as decoration?
