The Baseline: For a in hotel restaurant (fine dining) must have a good drink menu, excellent starters, fabulous main courses, delectable deserts, and a stellar staff to bring out the experience. Food: Chef Lewis is the Executive chef of the hotel and restaurant and put together an incredible meal for me. My starter was a wedge salad that blew me away. Heirloom tomatoes a thick strip of smoked bacon with a chunk of blue cheese was an amazing. Second course was a charred octopus with fingerling potatoes, bean purée, and amazing sauces. I was going for a surf and turf mode this night and the surf was up. The combination of the sauces, aiolis, and pure mixed well with the octopus. Main was a New York strip with mashed potatoes, mushrooms/onions, and asparagus spears. The steak was rare with a perfect sear and sauced with a a flavorful reduction. The only slight less than wanted part of this meal so far was the thick asparagus spears but that is because of my preference, not on preparation or seasoning of the vegetable. Finally, desert was a pear tart which was so pretty I almost didn't want to tear it apart and eat it. Almost. The poached pears were delicious and the tart was not overly sweet which made for a nice closure to the meal.Drinks were a flight of High West Bourbon and Whiskey and a Smoked Old Fashion. Really worth trying out and enjoying. Service: Beyond top notch! My server Vicente was amazing and anticipated my wants, needs, and desires. Mei was my bartender and took care of me on my whiskey needs.Tony was the head of house and was welcoming, informative, and made sure I was taken care of.Ambiance: The restaurant is inside the Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton property. The inside has a very upscale, welcoming decor that maintains upscale class with a bit of beachside charm. Henry's Coastal Cuisine blew away the baseline tonight!

First, super friendly service from the minute I walked in. I sat at the bar as I was there by myself. Ordered a Henry's Angel cocktail (online menu says it's made with Angel's Envy but the night I was there it was Bulleit Rye--still priced like Angel's Envy though). Not sure if it was the way it was made (bartender was not a craft-cocktail level bartender) or it's just a bad recipe but I found the drink quite disappointing. Ordered the Grass Fed Bison Bolognese entree, which came with a couple of interesting dinner rolls with great butter and an awesome Meyer Lemon jelly. The entree was good. About what I was expecting for a hotel restaurant. Overall, Henry's is a notch above what I was expecting for being in a hotel and the friendly service was very much appreciated.

We were looking at the menu around 8:30 PM (closing time shows 10 PM) but since we already ate similar food, we decided to sit down nearby. Working in hospitality, the 10-5 rule exists and we were within 5 feet where a hello is granted. Yet for the gentleman (maybe a manager based on the way he was dressed and walked around), we were invisible and didn't matter. He grabbed the menu stand and closed 1 door. I'm not the type to take stuff personally, but the way things went down, we couldn't help but feel like we were not "good enough" for this place. Funny part is, if we were dressed up for the beach, I'd understand, but we were dressed up to celebrate our anniversary. Not fun and just on this small interaction, I'd never return nor recommend.

We were staying at The Waterfront and we were craving steak and we were tired. We checked out Henry's and decided to have dinner here. It is a fancy restaurant on the pricier side and we were very under dressed after a wrestling tournament lol. However, the host, staff, treated no differently and we had exceptional service. I had a tasty glass of moscato. My daughter and I ordered the grilled octopus, the tuna tartare, and 10 oz sirloin steak to share. I am so mad my steak pic was blurry so you won't be able to see how yummy it was. The focaccia bread was to die for with the butter with spirulina salt & jam. Chef's kiss. The tuna tartare was delicious but the grilled octopus was dry and a bit overcooked. It needed a sauce to help choke it down unfortunately. I would not recommend it. The steak was delicious and flavorful. We enjoyed our meal immensely and would definitely come back the next time we stay here again. There was live music and we were out on the covered patio but you wouldn't even know since the heaters kept us toasty. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, great experience.

Henry's is located inside of the Hilton Huntington Beach. It is a fine dining atmosphere. From the outside patio you can see a good sunset with palm trees. Our server was friendly and if you check in on Yelp you get a free house wine, which he allowed me to get a sparkling rose. The food was half and half. The southern surf and turf was delicious, steak juicy and crab cake had a good flavor. Pommes aligot was this potato side that had layers like a millecrepe cake, absolutely amazing!!! Brussels sprouts were good. Our salad was fresh. Absolutely do not get the grilled artichokes!! They served us two huge artichokes that were so hard and burnt. It was not edible and we told the waiter, he said that's how they are supposed to be. Our dessert was also subpar. It was supposed to be a raspberry mouse with lemon curd. The mouse was dry and chalky. Pricing is a little high for the overall quality but expected being inside a hotel.

Service was impeccable! From start to finish, the hostess, the server, and everyone else in the hotel was welcoming, smiling, and making me so welcomed. Appetizer was a beef carpaccio which was really good but not enough to satisfy my mood. The wedge salad was very good and included a large piece of fried ham. The steak was cooked to perfection with just enough salt as well as the crispy salmon was satisfying. Overall the dishes were plated beautifully, the ambiance was calm and the food tasted delicious. We will definitely return!

It's a beautiful restaurant with a great windbreak so that even if the weather's chilly, it's still a fantastic place to enjoy the sunset. I was a little underwhelmed the meal itself though - the drink wasn't what I expected (we each ordered the Peach Cobbler, whose overpowering flavor was cinnamon) and the shared rigatoni carbonara seemed a little heavy on the oil. The wedge salad was fresh, but far too much dressing for my taste (I'd guess between a quarter and a half a cup? Way too much). We decided to skip a second round of drinks and desert in order to try somewhere else instead.

Great experience at Henry's for my first night in Huntington Beach. Reservation for one please! The restaurant is super cute and more upscale than I anticipated. I ordered the Dutch 75 to start a play on the French 75, paired with the grilled Spanish octopus which was mouthwatering. Checking in on yelp you get a free glass of sparkling wine which is fantastic so I paired that with the surf and turf option, steak was more medium than medium rare but still a decent flavor, prawns were yummy! Overall the food, drink and service hit all the marks! Definitely worth a try!

Birthday Celebration and Wonderful Ambience: From my initial contact with Brooke, everything was top notch. Brooke was amazingly helpful in the planning and organization of the menu, seating, all the way down to birthday cake design and fillings. Brooke assisted in getting everything organized in just a few weeks. So in a nutshell, Henry's Coastal Cuisine is a first class restaurant in the HB community. From the view, location, food, music, and service staff, all should be complimented. Tony the manager was welcoming and very professional, our server/waiter, Vincente was great, the two bartenders were awesome, Henry the jazz musician was phenomenal (tipped very well by my friends). The food was phenomenal, so compliments to the chef and to his/her food services team. Many of our guests were first timers at the Waterfront, including us, so with all the events and celebrations happening that night, we were impressed how smoothly everything went. I know many will return back to Henry's including Monica and I. So thank you again to Brooke, Tony and the Henry's Coastal Cuisine staff for helping make my wife's feel so special.
