Love finding solid Korean restaurants and this is in a very inconspicuous plaza. Tucked away in the corner, this place serves amazing food and you know it's a good Korean restaurant when their side dishes are good too. I got the perilla chicken soup and my parents shared the dumpling jongol which is a big pot filled with dumplings, rice cake, veggies and even udon noodles. Both were delicious! I was so focused on trying to get all the meat off my chicken that I didn't get to drink too much of my soup, BUT great thing to take back home and add things to eat for a future meal. The chicken meat was so tender and fell right off the bone.Definitely will be coming back to try more

Hanmi is delicious, authentic Korean cuisine. We found this on a whim on New Years when most restaurants were closed and I'm so glad we did. The space inside is pretty small, so just be weary with larger parties. We got the Korean seafood pancake, seafood tofu soup and the bossam. I would say the prices here are moderate, but the portions are quite hefty. The seafood pancake was huge and between 4 people it was even too big to finish. The bossam came with a giant plate of fresh veggies to wrap in and lots of banchan to pair with it. The tofu soup was full of flavor and packed with seafood. Highly recommend checking this place out for some good eats!

Food*****// we ordered steamed pork w Napa , cold noodle and seafood pancake. All of them are above standard, nice ingredients and good seasoning. Not too sweet and each side dishes have its own flavor.Service****// not too bad compared to other Korean places (maybe bc they are new?) but anyway I liked their service, served and refill timelyAmbiance****// nice and clean (A) place in Lakewood / Cerritos area, plenty parking. Family style interior but newly modeled.

I told my dad I was in the mood for bossam, he said "I know a spot". The rest is history! Hanmi is a small mom and pops restaurant located in a small strip mall in what I believe is the Cerritos area. We were a party of 7, we called the number to reserve but it seemed like it was a fax number. No problem. We headed straight over there at around 4PM for an early dinner and were seated promptly. We ordered 2 orders of bossam, and 1 order of black cod stew. The bossam (pork belly) was some of the best that we have ever had. Fresh, tender, and flavorful. Wrapped in a lettuce leaf with some of the soybean paste and shrimp sauce, with a slice of napa kimchi was straight nirvana. I never had the black cod stew but it was excellent. Spicy, savory, chock full of flavor and interesting textures. Even the radishes in it were good. Service was great, offering both cold and hot water, and free refills on side dishes as is the norm for Korean restaurants. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. Almost makes me want to not write a review but I am overcoming my selfish desires to share this hidden gem!

Came again for lunch with my coworkers! As shown in the photo, I got Kimchi Stew this time. I was craving a stew that was made by someone who isn't me so I ordered a simple kimchi stew. At first glance, it looked extremely thick which is how I enjoy my stews. However, it tasted extremely peppery and I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of pepper in it. I'm not sure why they added pepper to kimchi stew but I added more water to my leftovers at home and it tasted better. The workers there are very nice and attentive to our needs/requests. The inside is pretty small too so it'll def be packed during peak hours.

Located in a small strip mall area next to a clothing store. There is a wide variety of Korean food here and ssam (veggie wraps). I got the spicy chicken wrap and there was tons of veggies that came out with it which was great! The side dishes are also pretty good and tasty too!

There seems to have been a change of ownership for this Korean restaurant.Came for a lunch on a very hot summer Friday afternoon and I'd have to say I haven't ever seen this place that packed.Every customer seemed to be getting the cold buckwheat noodle soup: it came in a large metal bowl, quite icy and perfectly chewy. The dish is served with a half boiled egg, thinly sliced beef and cucumbers plus a crisp semi round of Asian pear. There is a cold noodle combo with marinated grilled short rib LA style or galbi , quite tasty and tender. I did not see this on the menu but it was on a sign on the wall.We also got a chives pancake: it's made so well here: crispy edges and tender pancake - not too thick nor thin. Quite busy in the summertime, friendly wait staff . Quiet and quick turnaround time for tables.Refillable banchan.

As a Korean-American living in Southern California, I'm very hesitant to try new Korean restaurants because nothing compares to homemade Korean food made by your mom/grandma but this place looked very promising.Got their Marinated Beef Hot-Stone (Dolsot) Bibimbap and it was delicious! Comes out piping hot and it stayed hot until I had my last bite. No single ingredient overpowered each other which is rare these days. Everything worked so well and I also loved how light their chili paste was. My mom had their Kalguksu and it was honestly really good. So light yet very flavorful.Another huge W for this restaurant is their banchan. They provide you with a lot of different banchans which were all flavorful and not too salty. My mom and I both approved of their banchan.Staff here is also very attentive and provide great customer service!
