Stopped in for lunch on a recommendation from my granddaughter who we just watched playing water polo for Citrus College, which just down the street from the school. It is located in the heart of the City of Glendora, corner of Baseline and Grand Ave. This Gem of a Japanese Restaurant is very quaint and inviting, our server Eric Lee was very polite and friendly and helped us negotiate the lunch menu and had recommendations ! We chose the Teriyaki Chicken along with sushi and a drink. The lunch did not disappoint ..... it was delicious, the miso soap was perfect along with the green salad which was included in the lunch special ! We received 5 Star Servicefrom Eric and the rest of his staff ! The restaurant has been part of the community for the last 49 years, we highly recommend this restaurant and please support local businesses ! Thank You Mr. Eric Lee

I have been coming here for probably close to 20 years. I've watched many changes over the years but have always had amazing food. I highly recommend getting the spicy chicken. I promise you won't regret it. The service is extremely friendly and it's always comfortable in there. There is front parking and parking in the back. Definitely a stable in our house and I'm sure if you try it it will easily become one of yours!

A recent visit to our beloved Hana Haru revealed too many changes. The restaurant is now under new ownership. There is nothing wrong with the new owner, Eric is a great guy and is very attentive to the customers. The changes were a little shocking. The hidden sushi bar in back is now closed indefinitely due to a lack of good sushi chef staff in the industry. The prices are a bit higher than the other sushi restaurants in the area and this wouldn't be an issue if the food was the same as before. The Bento Box had small offerings to include nigiri which only had tiny cuts of fish barely covering the rice and a tiny cut roll which barely had any fish in the center. The food was fresh so the ingredients aren't the issue. I hope things change so we can continue to support this local legend.

Family run business in Glendora that makes you feel like you're apart as soon as you walk in. It's fully run by the family. Every person serving and cooking are so sweet. They even allowed a change on a roll once for me due to my shellfish allergy. The place is small and quaint, but enough tables for families and a small group. Definitely a cozy vibe inside that starts with the beautiful wooden front door. They serve all types of sushi and Japanese food. They have beer specials too! The noodles are great, their sushi is amazing and the staff has made it my favorite spot. Their hours are different from the norm, they close for an hr or two in between lunch and dinner service. AMAZING spot.

I had a terrible experience with customer service. I walked in on a Tuesday when it wasn't busy, and there were plenty of empty seats. However, I was told to wait 30 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. When I asked to use the restroom, the waiter refused, saying I wasn't a customer yet, and walked away. I will never return to this place again

Since moving to El Segundo about 30 years ago, my family has loved dining at Hana Haru. Besides being conveniently close, their sushi is usually the best, freshest. Our favorite menu items have included the salmon handrolls, David's roll, and the Popcorn roll.So after decades in which my family loved dining there, including having celebratory celebrations like bdays at Hana Haru, because of our family's schedules, we began ordering food to go. In this process, we learned that Hana Haru really struggles in preparing the same quality of sushi. But like any human-run place, we fully understand errors of oversight happen. But it is how Hana Haru management responds to a simple complaint that has truly revealed their true colors. Most specifically, my family prefers soy paper, which is extra $$. But for whatever reasons, in the several times we have placed our order for pick-up, the management has refused to correct their mistake. Instead of owning up to their honest mistake, HH management represented often by Jonathan, shockingly directs anger and blame at us. Such repeated nasty, irresponsible, disrespectful customer service has caused us to leave there the last several times unbelievably bothered/upset.To make matters worse, beyond Hana Haru's repeated struggle to provide a low bar of satisfactory customer service, management has refused to correct their mistakes, but charges us the extra $$ nevertheless. After my family's numerous grossly disappointed experiences from Jonathan and his management team in recent visits, we and our local friends are avoiding repeated headache and disappointment at Hana Haru by enjoying our sushi/Japanese at other local places like Japonica.
