How has this place been kept such a secret!? My first time stopping by to get a sandwich. It was hard to decide, but I ended up with a French Dip (which was delicious). Lots of great flavors and just the right touch of horseradish and big enough to share. The bread makes the sandwich IMHO and it did not disappoint. Had I been able to eat it right away it would have been even better, but I had groceries in the car. I look forward to going back and trying some other things. The owner was delightful and fun to talk to while I waited.

Great food and especially their goulash. I'm from Pittsburgh and we grew up with so many wonderful ethnic foods due to the diversity of its population driven from the Steel Mills. I'm so glad I found them to bring in our New Year with what we call in Pittsburgh "our hunky meal"! The owners are wonderful too and I'm a people person and really enjoyed these lads! You have to give their goulash a go!

This once great place has changed ownership and since crashed and burned... it is a dive now and the stellar customer service once enjoyed by so many is now long gone. Walked in today, place was empty which was never the case. New worker who was the father of the new owner was simply a jerk, arrogant and obnoxious. Walked out disappointed and spent nothing... I had been warned this place had changed but OMG- what a big difference and what a shame. Used to be bomb but now it's a distant memory of what once was... go anywhere else.

This place has become a day drinking spot with four beers on tap. I stopped by for some German staples for my mom for Mother's Day. Parking lot was crazy at 2pm on a Friday... first sign things are happening here, some guy with a giant black truck was parked in two spots...I was able to buy a bunch of Ritter sport dark chocolate, some liverwurst, German beer, mustard and gerkins, along with some gingerbread, but the vibe of this place has totally changed.

Southern California and OC"s Best German deli & shoppe. German traditional beers on tap as well as bottle. Fabulous shop for german meats, cheeses, sandwiches, Beers, treats such as chocolate, gummy bears cookies, etc. etc. I have enjoyed their Bockwurst or Nuremberger on Baguette with homemade potato salad. A current fave is fine liverwurst with Swiss cheese to go (add fig jam) for my gluten free menu. (I heard it's called "Jenny's Special"). Shoppe: Going back to my Bavarian roots. Since 1968, this German Deli is Under new family management, which is still in the same family, excellent quality menu, friendly staff...No rushing , come relax and enjoy a pint. ( pre-order if you are in a rush..) #germandeli ##germangrocer #globaldeli #germanshop #germanmenu #casualambiance casual ambiance

I came here by chance after seeing it while walking around, looking for food, while getting my car serviced. It seems like the kind of hole-in-the-wall place where everyone knows each other, and most of the customers are repeat customers. I felt like I didn't really fit in with the customer base, but that's my own problem Ambiance was interesting, seems like most people are here to drink and chat. It's pretty small so tables can be hard to find since people seem to stick around a little while.Staff was very nice and friendly! They seemed very comfortable and knowledgeable here.Since the pretzels seemed popular, I wanted to try it. I'm not a fan of mustard so I asked for no mustard. It was really salty without it so I probably wouldn't recommend doing that--I imagine the mustard balances out the flavors pretty well. The sandwich was not bad, but not my personal cup of tea. Overall, the food here is great, but just not my personal flavor palette. I brought the food home for my partner, though, and he fell in love with the food and says he needs to come try it out for himself.

Good food but over priced.I've lived in the area for many years and have popped in here from time to time to have a sandwich and a beer but since covid passed, things have gone a little downhill. The sandwiches were always on the high end, but they were delicious and had a lot of meat so it was worth it. However lately, they sold the business to someone else and it's getting hard to justify the cost of eating there. About the cheapest sandwich you're going to get there these days is the cold cut at $18.00, which is just insane for a sandwich. That was ok before the place was sold but since then, the quality and size has decreased quite a bit. They put about half the meat they used to without lowering the price, and the meat is lower grade for the cold cuts, making them a lot saltier than they used to be. 2 sandwiches and 2 12oz beers cost almost $60. That is INSANE for a sandwich that doesn't even include a pickle, chips or anything else for that matter. And stay away from the BLT. You will NOT get your money worth no matter how they slice it. Oh and I have to mention this just because it bothers me. Their goulash is NOT goulash. It's beef tips and gravy. Period. Whatever they serve tastes good, don't get me wrong, but other than the beef, this dish has NONE of the other ingredients that goulash from any country contains. A key ingredient to goulash, American or Hungarian, is tomatoes, which are nowhere to be found on this plate. What you get is plain and simple brown gravy and that's it. But don't try to bring it up to them or they'll just tell you it's the same recipe they've used for 20 years, which aside from meaning they've been advertising that dish wrong for 20 years, would hardly be considered a 'classic' recipe if it's still from the 2000s. Gimme a break. But they will die on this hill when asked.Overall the Food is good and the service is friendly (most of the time, except when the new owners dad is working, he's a smarmy jerk sometimes), but it's getting very hard to justify the price of eating there unless you have money to burn and don't care about value at all.
