Have been coming here for over a decade and quality never disappoints. We put our name down for 2 at 7PM on a Friday and waited 35 minutes. They have an extensive menu and quick service. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet omelet rice and takoyaki. Takoyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the soft smooth m texture of the eggs was delicious with the crunchy crust of the pork cutlet and the well cooked rice. Ratio of curry was great too, and portion size was large. The food is authentic with a distinctly home-cooked taste. There's a small parking lot for the restaurant, or street parking.

love this ramen place, i've been to the alhambra main street location which unfortunately closed down. go support the OG! They have this cream broth soup (Number 17 Nanchatte Tonkotsu Ramen) which is super good and is what they're known for... they also have tons of options like curry ramen, duck ramen, and your typical shoyu / shio... ect. Super busy so come early, its a no fuss, eat and get out kinda atmosphere. Very diner-esque. The people working here were working hard and I could see that they were trying their best. Seems like they were understaffed but as a mom and pop shop, that's to be expected. This is the place to go when you have a decent sized group of people who all want different things... they have almost every sort of asian noodle... even mapo tofu ramen. lol. interesting. Plenty of street parking + a lot that has a few spots available. average spend per person is prob $15ish-$20.

Foo Foo Tei has always been one of my comfort restaurants and I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much after all these years. I went on a Friday for lunch and there wasn't a line so I was glad we were able to be seated right away. Usually the lines get long on weekends so I highly recommend going on weekdays if possible. Every time I come here, I always get the Ten-Shin ramen and Fried liver. The ten-shin ramen is packed with flavor and if you like thick broth, this one's for you. The fried liver is also a classic and paired with the sauce that's on the side is also a hit. This time I also tried the squid which I thought was very flavorful and well cooked!Foo Foo Tei is almost hidden and it's not part of a busy street so it's nice to know there's plenty of parking space outside of the internal parking. The inside feels like you're in someone's kitchen enjoying a nice meal. It's pretty small, but it definitely gives a more intimate vibe.

A banger. The absolute best ramen in LA. This hole in the wall is an old house converted into a restaurant. The older ladies serving ramen and the most epic sides are always sweet and friendly. Highly suggest the fried oysters, number 17 ramen if you love tonkatsu, and the beef tomato ramen. Wanted to gate keep this place but just can't

Always great Japanese Ramen. A lot of varieties and foods are delicious. Service is fast, great and friendly. Inside is crowded, clean but air circulation is not great especially during summer season. I have noticed that after the pandemic, the portion is a bit smaller or there are few things that is not included.

We have been regulars in this restaurant. Quality of entrees not up to par from pre pandemic time. It's been a hit and miss on our orders. Tempura has thin batter and fried well, crispy, 4/5 . The fried oysters has thick coatings 3/5. The Unagi bowl has 3 thin slices of Unagi and mostly rice 3/5used to have unagi covering the top of the rice. Ordered my favorite Pork Cutlet with Omelet rice with curry sauce. For years, I always request my curry sauce on the side. I donot like too much sauce on my omelet rice. They always accommodate my request and serve the sauce on the side. This time, spoke to 3 different servers who told me NO owner does not want to accommodate the request of curry sauce on the side..so I ordered it anyway thinking it will taste the same... NO, the omelet was runny and leaking, curry sauce on top of the pork was thinner. The dish tasted subpar and the pork cutlet was soggy.. this is definitely 1/5. Typically I would finish the dish, this time. Barely ate 1/3 and I cannot even take it home..What is happening to the quality of the food in this place.. losing the

When I first tried ramen, this is where it started. I'm talking about 20 years ago. I used to love eating here and ordering miso ramen. There were some other items I've had in the past. This place is filled with so many memories. However, this place just isn't the same as before. The taste isn't as great. The miso ramen lacks flavor and it took a while to prepare. The service was decent. As far as how clean this place is; it's as clean as it can get. This restaurant is old. But it still reminds me of the good old days!

Both nanchatte ramen and the pork kimchee was extremely good. No complains about the food. Would come back for the food. Service wise, the old aunties weren't the best with their patience. I misunderstood the aunty calling out our name for the table and said a second time "i'm here for xx table" and she gave me sort of an attitude when explaining what she meant. Didn't really like that part of the service. Other than that, they took the order quick, and have our food our quick. Not sure if it's because its close to their closing time for lunch or their service is just fast. Please know: 1:00-5:30pm they close for a small break.

Came here recently because I was craving omelet rice or omurice. I ended ordering the omelet rice with the curry and to start, I ordered the natto (again - just like my first visit here). I really do enjoy the natto and it's definitely growing on me overall. The way it's served with taro, mustard, and okra here gives it dimensions of flavor and texture. The omelet rice was great. It came with some miso soup and a side salad. The portion here is really large. I ended up taking leftovers and eating it for dinner that same night. Although I've only visited this place twice as of 4/24, I really love this place. Just a feeling of a family owned /operated, old timey Japanese cafe. Plenty of options to choose from and just very friendly people and from what I ordered so far I have loved everything. On my previous visit, I thought it was crazy since there was a long wait during a weekday. I've been working in the area for about 8 months and it was the only time I've had to sign up and wait for a table (not complaining, just an observation). On this past visit, while the restaurant was still busy, I was able to sit right away. I'm guessing on my previous visit, it was that odd time of the year during the holidays when students were off and people were in town so people were going to lunch here during a weekday.

I haven't been here in ages. So it was quite nice and nostalgic when I came here a few days ago. The place hasn't changed a bit, the casual hole-in-a-wall vibe like I remember. I remember it being great when I came here over 8 years ago. But for some reason, I wasn't terribly impressed this time. I had the Crab Omelet over Rice with Gravy, and was a bit disappointed to find it was imitation crab, and the taste was just OK. It could just be the dish I ordered... as my friend had a curry rice dish and it was delish! Other than the food, the service as very good. Even though it was on a Friday night, we didn't have to wait for long before being seated.I'll definite come back if I am in town the next time, and most definitely try something else.
