I lived in New Orleans for four years, so I'm always on the lookout for authentic Cajun food. When I saw that this restaurant originated in Louisiana, I was really excited.First off, the service was great--the servers were very kind and friendly. I started with the gumbo since it's been nearly impossible to find anything close to the real thing in OC. It was better than other places I've tried here, and it seemed to have all the right ingredients, but something still felt missing. After adding some Cajun spice from the table, it became more acceptable. Then we had the crawfish and shrimp, which is why I'm giving only two stars. The crawfish wasn't boiled with the spices as it should be; instead, the sauce was added after boiling. This meant there was no flavorful juice when sucking the head, and the meat tasted bland. The shrimp either wasn't fresh or was overcooked because the shells didn't peel easily. The sausage was overly salty. The shrimp po' boy was okay, but it didn't feel truly authentic. Overall, it was really disappointing. Given that this restaurant comes from Louisiana, I expected better Cajun food than the typical seafood boil spots around here.

We went here at 6 pm on a Friday. I needed to wait a few minutes for the others in y party. While I was waiting, two young ladies, employees, were being very loud in the restroom...very unprofessional. The hostess came to me and said she would seat me since they were starting to get busy.First, we ordered a dozen raw oysters. They were very gritty but tasted good. We were brought cocktail sauce in little plastic cups. We had to ask for horseradish to add to it. We also ordered the House Platter with garlic butter and medium heat. There was plenty of visible seasoning but there wasn't much heat. The lobster tails, shrimp, crab legs, sausage, potatoes and corn were cooked perfectly. The crawfish were over cooked so a bit rubbery. We liked the variety and there was a lot of food for three of us. We brought some home. They really need their liquor license. Our waiter, who said he was also the bartender, said, without a liquor license, all they offer are beer and wine. Their menu offers what they called, Signature Cocktails, which listed rum, vodka & tequila, so I assume those are not available yet.I see potential in this place but they are not there yet. I will give it a few months and maybe give it another try.

2/14/24I almost forgot to make reservations, but we managed to snag a spot at the bar on a busy Valentine's Day before the place got packed. We got fortunate too because it was happy hour. The bartender was incredibly sweet and attentive, ensuring we were comfortable while enjoying the seafood boil. The food arrived hot and quickly, which was impressive. I'm excited to bring my family back; their specials are perfect for sharing. I can't wait for our next visit!I also ordered a fish po'boy to go, and my brother raved about how delicious it was!

Best cajun seafood I've tried in the OC area. I think it easily tops boiling crab, kickin' crab, etc. We got the family platter with the fiery blend - everything had such amazing flavor-, sweet potato fries, and rice. The platter came with lobster tails, crab legs, 2lb shrimp, corn, potatoes, boiled eggs, sausage! It was more than enough to feed a party of 4. Staff was so helpful in helping us order for our first visit and checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. The restaurant is massive and has lots of large seating areas (open seating and booths) that fit large parties. I would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone craving seafood boil.

Ah yes another seafood boil to elevate my blood pressure. You can never go wrong with that banger sauce and some boiled seafood. Suck the juice out of the shrimp head, claw the meat out of the crab, and dump all that sauce into your rice. Life is good. The Po'boys sandwich and fries made it experience even better (dipped bread into sauce ofc) and had to leave bloated after destroying those beignets. 5/5 would recommend

Had another great lunch with prompt, attentive service in a beautiful restaurant. This time we tried shrimp po'boy and spicy shrimp noodle bowl. The po' boy comes with your choice of fries. We chose sweet potato. They give you a lot. The light breading on the shrimp inside the bread, with lettuce and tomato, was perfect. The shrimp bowl had large shrimp (spiced but not spicy) with broccoli, corn, sliced smoked sausage and hard boiled eggs, all atop spaghetti. Interesting combination and works well like a bibimbap. If you go during the magic hour of 2-3pm on a weekday you can take advantage of happy hour ($2 off drinks) and the lunch special. That's what we did so we all agreed it was a great value.

My second time dining here at this Louisianan based restaurant. I was craving seafood and made it over here on a Saturday night. Located next to Lazy Dog Cafe, parking is shared and there's no issue to locate. The friendly maître seated us at a large table which was perfect for viewing the first Dodger playoff game. My friendly waitress Angie was knowledgeable since she's been employed here since they opened. I ordered the king crab and Louisianan shrimp combo which included corn, sausages, and potatoes in the yummy house sauce. In addition, I ordered the cat fish Po boy sammie with Cajun reasoned fries. The king crab was sweet and super fresh and it didn't even require any additional seasonings. The Gulf shrimp were destinctly southern, deveined and headless. Catfish was fried with a light batter and the perfect baguette. The Cajun fries were not overly seasoned. For dessert, I selected the beignets which were piping hot and topped with powdered sugar. What I really noticed here was how immaculately clean this restaurant is. The tables were cleaned immediately once patrons departed. I was so impressed with the overall experience here and can't wait to catch happy hour and watch the Dodgers win the world series.

For 2 people: we got the shrimp special (fiery special, hot), charbroiled oysters, 2 Cajun fries. It was definitely enough food and we had a good amount of leftovers. First, apps: you can tell the oysters weren't the freshest. They had good garlicky flavor, which masked it, but for a person who loves oysters I can tell they probably used the ones that weren't fresh enough for the people who ordered raw ones. The Cajun fries are solid, which was the best thing of our dinner. Second, the shrimp special. The shrimp and crab were fresh and plump. The downside was the sauce. It literally had no flavor. I can only describe it as melted spicy butter. We asked for a side of the garlic butter which helped but we weren't aware there was charged around $3 for it. So just an FYI. This is my husband's second time. The first time he came with two other people and he got all the good flavorful garlic bits and pieces while the other two got the no flavor melted spicy butter. So apparently you would want to get the last "serving", since all the garlic and bits are on the bottom of their pot? Not sure, so maybe you can tell the waiter to put in a good word for you.
