We have been here 3 times already and the clay pots here are very good.We got the preserved meat rice pot, pork ribs rice pot and the chicken soup. All 3 were well prepared.The desert is some kind of peach soup. It was ok. Will skip that next time.Easy to find parking.Friendly staff.The inside sitting is small but they do have outdoor tables.

留得住的無需用力，留不住的無需費力這家餐廳最好吃的，應該是他們的煲飯， 味道還蠻香的，拿出來的時候香噴噴的，而且還會先附送一碗湯，價格也便宜，所以煲飯的部分我還蠻喜歡的，但是有一個問題就是不管我們點什麼菜幾乎都是西蘭花，這一點在煲仔飯裡不是很道地，前菜的部分淋的醬汁��，就有待加強，太鹹太鹹了，我沒有很喜歡

I went to try this place yesterday, for the first time. We ordered 1 Claypot, ginger chicken and a ginseng soup. The waiter ask us if it was our first time and I told him, it was. Our chicken came, we asked for a plate. The lady didn't understand English so, the waiter came back to tell us that they don't have the soup and can we order another one. So, we did.While waiting for the food, there was a note on the table in Chinese writing. I Google translate and it said if you ordered a Claypot you get a soup free.He gave me the soup and I asked him is this the soup free? He pointed at it and said you got it. I said where is the soup we ordered then he said ok I'll cancel you soup order. I'm pretty sure he was trying to cheat us elderly people or people that don't speak the language. Food is not good,, not going back again!!!

I was so impressed the first time I tried this place. The flavor and authenticity is there. I love the crispy rice at the bottom of your clay pot you have to scrape and really get in there. The best part is that every clay pot comes with soup or a dessert! I loved their chicken ginseng, pork and mushroom, and pork rib soup! I think the pork and mushroom is my favorite.

So, we've driven by this spot a lot and finally decided to try it after picking up my parents from Ontario airport. And, we're kind of sorry we didn't try it earlier. The service is friendly, if slightly scattered (maybe because there was only one guy seating, busing tables, taking orders, and delivering food). But, the food is good and a good value. And, the eggplant appetizer is bomb. Plus, parking is plentiful and we can stop at BR for ice cream before we head home.

Just had dinner here on thanksgiving, and it was great! We are from out of town and was looking for a place to eat with our dog. They have a lovely patio with heat lamps, and some nice decor. It's often hard to find a chinese restaurant with outdoor seating, so we really appreciated being able to eat with the dog.The staff were very friendly. Food was prepared quickly.The food was reasonably priced and very delicious. We had 菜心, 芥兰, 白切雞, 煲仔飯, 淨馄饨. All of them were great! We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

Modern Cantonese eatery and Sichuan clay pot rice. So yummy!I had:1. BBQ pork claypot rice - add egg and abalone. comes with 1 soup and 1 dessert 2. Chicken with ginger paste3. Spicy dumplings

If you are into or would like to try Chinese clay pot rice, Fennel Bistro is a good place since they have several combinations to choose from. This is a very casual restaurant setup where you order food from a tablet that's already on your table so the night I went, there was only one server for the whole place (and they were not busy). They have combos where's you can get a braised soup along with the clay pot rice as well as some appetizers. Now... I do like clay pot rice but I don't like when the rice cooks too long and then badly sticks to the clay pot to get really crispy so I make sure to scoop the entire clay pot right when it arrives so 'caveat eater' depending on how much you like crispy rice, you'll want to stir the entire clay pot sooner than later. (It's like clay pot rice at Korean Soon Tofu places but here, they will not come by at the end to pour tea or water in the clay pot to help loosen the rice.)Check out my pics including the to go menu. They give a good amount of meat for the clay pot rice, but overall I thought that it was too bland and I needed to occasionally add soy sauce or hot sauce to give it more flavor. The rice was also pretty sticky at the bottom of the pot and it was hard to dig out towards the end. I'd give the food a 3/5 but overall, rating this place as a 4/5 because of the good experience we had with the employee there who was very generous when we asked for hot sauce.

Finally got to try Fennel Bistro during my lunch work hours and it was very satisfying. The meats were cooked deliciously and the flavors were spot on. The clay rice was crispy and well flavored. The meat to rice ratio was perfect for my preference.The place is simplistic and clean. Random, but it was fun to see the steam rise from the clay pots every so often inside, and it feels like a huge humidifier. No issues at all with the service, our waitress was very kind to explain how to pick out and order the clay pot combos.
