El Curtido

We recently moved to the area and this is my mom's favorite pupusa place. Nice portions and great customer service. I love the fun music they play which makes you want to dance. We were also told you can order ahead and dine-in so we'll have to try it next time.

Solid choice, have been coming here with my kids for about a year. Really enjoy it. Be prepared for a bit of wait if it's busy, but manageable. Will keep coming back!

3.75 starsWhat a pleasant surprise. We were visiting from out of town, and looking for a place to eat. We hadn't eaten pupusas in a very long while, so we decided to try El Curtido. The staff spoke to us in Spanish the entire time. Luckily I speak enough Spanish to relatively get by, but I don't have a Latin ethnic background at all. We were told to have a seat, and something else I didn't quite understand. We ordered:-revuelta pupusas-cheese, squash and beans pupusas-pork tamal-yucca fritaWe waited a really long time for our food. I could tell that others were waiting a long time as well. At one point, I went up to the front counter to ask about our food. They said it was coming soon. We got our food about 5 minutes after that.The good news is that everything was delicious. The pupusas were super-pillowy and flavorful. Of all the dishes we ordered, our favorite was the pork tamal. It was succulent and moist.I don't eat Salvadorian food very often, but it seemed like this place was really good. Just don't come when you're in a hurry.

Had the Chicken soup. Best Caldo i have ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection plus handmade tortillas . They also have amazing pupusas one of the best spots in Costa Mesa

Little hole in the wall... sooo good. We already had our go-to Salvadorean restaurant buuuuut this place now has us questioning ourselves haha. The customer service is top notch, very friendly and attentive staff. The pupusas, although seemed a little pricier than our regular place, almost $5 a pupusa (Rice dough is the way to go) after receiving them, the price is more than reasonable. The pupusas are huge and extremely well stuffed. We ordered Revuelta con Jalapeño ( beans, pork, cheese and jalapeno) and an order of Plátano Frito. The plate for Plátano Frito had sooooo many fried plantains, it was a pleasant surprise, most places only put like 6 pieces for $10, but not here, this one was packed! We definitely cannot wait to go back and introduce the rest of our family and friends to this hidden gem. Be sure to check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Hace un tiempo mi hermana y yo encontramos este lugar y la verdad que nos enamoramos de las pupusas porque estaban muy bien hechas y tenían muy buen sabor, tanto que cada fin de semana estábamos comprando pupusas, pero tristemente las últimas dos veces que compramos estaban muy secas y quemadas...no sé si cambiaron de cocinero o si tienen demasiadas órdenes pero ya no volveremos a ordenar de este lugar

Great service and delicious pupusas. Best pupusas jn orange county. Pupusas are made to order and not overly greasy. Must try.

This place has amazing pupusas. I've tried the pork and cheese, cheese, and chicken and cheese pupusas and all were amazing. I'd say the pork and cheese is the best one!

Food was nice and hot freshly made the lady who helped me was super nice and fast with our orders, be mindful that this is not a Mexican restaurant don't expe it to be on but love there food papusas are amazing

The food was delicious, the portions are huge and cheap. The girls shared one big beef soup and we had 2 papusas and we all loved everything!
