I gotta say I was a little surprised to hear that Phin Smith was going to be opening up a brewery and just down the street! How cool! Since soft opening was announced, I've been a few times with friends and family and can say it keeps getting better. The orders have been coming out faster and their overall system seems to be working out the kinks! So what about the food? Wild. If I'm getting a little drink and a little buzz, THIS is the kind of food I would want to munch on. The loaded tots were the perfect crisp with chorizo and green onions on top. These are by far my favorite and bursting with flavor. 10/10 WILL be getting again (and again!). The Seoul Smash Burger was super good too. I like that they have the kimchi in there to balance out the burger and give it that little bit of extra depth. 10/10 for the SSB! Lastly (for this visit), the chicken sandwich. I kinda get the vibe of the fried chicken sandwich craze that a lot of places seemed to pop up with. I think what set this apart from the other for me was the sauce! I'd recommend asking to split the sandwiches like my friend and I did for ease of sharing. The drink! Pictured is the Spice Up Our Love (lol, haven't watched this kdrama yet but guess I need to now!). By far my favorite drink here. The balance between the sweet flavors and the subtle spiced rim will keep me ordering every time I'm here. I paired mine with the Jinro for the soju mixer, and I feel like it gave it that extra punch. LOVE this drink 10/10! And lastly the service / staff ~ I can tell that this crew has put some time into careful consideration of what they're presenting. There's something comforting about being able to ask any of the staff about their favorite drink or recommendation. It was nice that they were pretty attentive and checked on us every once in a while. Here's to Dzo! I hope they continue to impress us and show us the love and care that they've put into this place. Will be back again and again!

Came here for their soft opening and although not everything is set up 100% yet, the decor and ambiance here is very cool. I love the concept of this place! We ordered a beer flight and two of the beers we wanted to try were out. We ended up getting 2 stouts, the ale, and the orange coastal. I liked the orange coastal the most but overall I found the flavor of the beer to be just alright. My friends ordered the soju cocktails which were delicious but were super light. We also tried their brussel sprouts and it was my favorite thing I had here. It felt like they were still figuring out their service.Overall, this place is super cool but has a few kinks to iron out before their grand opening. I would definitely give this place another try down the road.

Moi, hai, ba, dzo!! (One, two, three, cheers!!) What a cute little Vietnamese brewery serving cool house made beers and some small bites. They have cool Viet-inspired flavors such as viet coffee, lychee, orange and lychee. The flavor is very light for the infused beers tho... I wish the flavors were stronger. Idea is there but execution leave a little more to be desired. They also offer soju cocktails for those who don't drink beer. They were very light and pretty! The food was pretty okay too; the sweet potato fries were average and the loaded tots were buried under a mountain of meat and onions. The best things were the fried Brussels sprouts and fish tacos. You get 3 huge tacos with large chunks of fish topped with slaw and pico. I didn't have any high expectations for the food as it's a brewery so most would probably come for the drinks. It was pretty empty since it is only soft opening but I can definitely see this place being a new late night hot spot in Garden Grove. Also there is a secret room/speakeasy area behind the bookshelf near the bar that isn't open to the public yet but probably will be in the next few months

Thank you to Instagram for showing me this place because it may be one of my new favorite places for a drink. 3 things that I love about Dzo:1) the staff is super nice and genuine. 2) the drinks are so fun, tasty , and not boring at all. This place offers cocktails too! I'm a huge fan of their Lychee seltzer. I also love how their cocktail names are inspired by K-dramas lol. The "Crash Landing on You" is a magical drink! 3) they have food! The Loaded fries are *chef's kiss*. At only $6, you could have it all to yourself or snack on it with someone else. The chorizo serving is generous on there. There's plenty of seating and it has large TVs so it may be a good place to catch a game!

To everyone being super critical on their Yelp reviews. This place hasn't even had its grand opening yet and are working out the kinks. That being said I didn't experience much of the negatives being stated in the other reviews. The service was quick and efficient the food was decently portioned at a good price point. The best thing was the loaded bulgogi tots. As for the beer the stouts tasted very similar and I would appreciate a stronger coffee flavor if you are going to name it after something like a Vietnamese iced coffee. Overall I expect this place to fine tune their beer to the standard of Phin Smith their sister coffee shop without a doubt over time.

Trendy little brewery with great drinks and service on Main Street Garden Grove! We stopped in for a few drinks before a show, and this place did not disappoint! Jonathan and staff were super accommodating with great suggestions and explanations about the menu. We tried about half the cocktails on the menu (all soju based) which were tasty and beautifully presented. They also made me an off menu espresso martini equivalent but better - *chefs kiss*I didn't get a chance to try the food, but the burgers smelled and looked enticing, so I plan to order upon my return. There was also a room that appears to be a speakeasy which I hope to try soon once it opens!See you again soon Dzo!

Cool little addition to garden grove's Main Street. Spacious inside with an upstairs that wasn't open yet when I visited. They were still in their soft opening stage, and some beers are still in the works so expect different things on the menu in the future! The beers were just okay, but my preference may not be the same for all since I love the hoppyness of an IPA or a fruity hazy. But their current beers are light and easy to drink. My favorites were the Vietnamese coffee stout and the orange coastal. Their stouts are not the thick sippy kinds that I expected but the coffee flavor was definitely there. They were unfortunately out of the golden hour ale, so I'll maybe be back to try that and any new brews if they're released.Service was great, no complaints. Parking was tough but there's street and some lots behind Main Street.

Went to DZO (pronounced like "Yoh!" for cheers in Vietnamese) and it was a delightful experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a unique blend of traditional and modern decor. Their craft beers showcased a small but unique range of flavors, from refreshing ales to bold stouts. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share their passion for brewing. I also loved the small bites menu, which perfectly complemented the drinks. We got the loaded tots and smashburger!Overall, a promising start for this brewery--I can't wait to see how they evolve!

Checked out the new brewery and absolutely loved the space--cool, open, and inviting. Having been a regular on Main Street Garden Grove since my days at Garden Grove High School (Class of 2005!), it's exciting to see a new brewery in the neighborhood. They really lucked out with the location--a spacious two-story setup with a great atmosphere. The little balcony overlooking Main Street is a great touch and will be a prime spot during the Strawberry Festival. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially given how busy it was during the soft opening. I tried both the beer and seltzer flights--the beers were okay, and the seltzers were alright, but as a former craft beer enthusiast who frequented Monkish, Everywhere, Highland Park, and Homage, nothing quite compares. That said, the space and staff are a solid 5/5.The chicken sandwich was okay. I'll definitely be back to try more beers.A tip: the brewery has a strong Vietnamese theme, so it would be great to see some Banh Mi, Com Tam, or other Vietnamese dishes or finger foods on the menu!
