I recently went here for work lunch and I have to say I was very happy. Order was to-go and the udon soup was meticulously packaged in a two-part container that kept everything fresh, hot and chicken katsu was crisp. My only suggestion would be check that all the accoutremonts are included like chopsticks, hot chili and soy sauce on your to-go orders. It would be terrible to get all the way back to your desk and not have those things.I have not tried sushi here recently but by the looks of the counter everything looks clean and fresh. I think they have a new owner, so next time I will try some sushi. That is all.

My family and I used to frequent Domo Sushi pre-Covid. It was then ran and managed by Koreans -- both the female server and male sushi chef were Koreans, and both were kind and hospitable. Sushi was good and the rolls were quite large. Setting has always been casual. Fast forward to last night -- our 2nd visit after the pandemic -- and boy has the food quality changed for the WORST. My mom ordered a shrimp tempura plate, which comes with a bowl of rice and a salad. Rather than have her meal come out as one full plate, her food came out staggered -- meaning, first her salad arrived, then a bowl of rice appeared, and lastly, her plate of 5 pieces of shrimp tempura came out last. WHY would you stagger a plate this way? Why not at the very least serve the tempura and rice TOGETHER? Or serve it bento style with rice & salad in their respective places, and the tempura with its bowl of tempura sauce in their respective spots? Though the shrimp tempura was good (perfectly crisped with a light batter), we thought this staggered service and plating was very bizarre.I opted for a salmon nigiri sushi and yellowtail nigiri sushi along with a spicy scallop cut roll. The sushi was OK -- not the best quality of fish. I have been to Japan 3X and dined at fine sushi restaurants both there and here in the States, and the sushi at Domo was definitely nothing to write home about. It was mediocre at best. Also, no respectable sushi joint would ever plate their nigiri sushi atop salad leaves -- it makes for MESSY presentation. I do not want to pick up my sushi with chopsticks and have salad leaves be stuck to my sushi. Unnecessary.Lastly, my spicy scallop roll was a joke! The plating was TERRIBLE -- the rolls were uneven and non-circular. In fact, they were not uniform in the slightest nor rolled tightly that my rolls FELL APART upon being picked up with chopsticks. WHO WANTS TO EAT BROKEN CUT ROLLS?! When our server came by to ask us about our food and I explained the situation with my cut roll, he literally said this, "Oh, what's funny is that the sushi chef didn't make your roll. It was the owner's son, a kid who's training to make sushi." What?! Are we in pretend sushi bar? Are we making sushi for friends and family at home? What respectable restaurant of any cuisine has a little kid, who looked to be 6 or 7, actually handle food, let alone RAW FISH, and have what they make be served to the public?!?! How do I know his hands are even CLEAN?! What about QUALITY CONTROL? I did NOT come in to dine and pay for sushi that was made by a kid who does not know sushi!!!I don't care if this kid is the owner's son or if he was "training" -- this was completely UNACCEPTABLE. Also, does he even legally have a work permit as protected under CA's Child Labor Laws? I highly doubt it. And interestingly, the owner sat at a table near us and overheard everything, but did not once come by to acknowledge nor apologize for such poor food. So not only does this restaurant LACK good quality sushi, but the owner herself LACKED professionalism and hospitality. Our server offered us to take home a complimentary menu item of our choice, which we politely declined. We're not about free food. We're about GOOD QUALITY food. Unless you want sushi that falls apart because it was made by a little kid, stay away from this place. Go get sushi from a local joint that respects you and stands by QUALITY food, presentation, and service.

Oh yeah. This is an easy 5 star dining experience. Yes, this place has been here for a long time, it's small, it's right across from Mt. SAC. It's been a while since we come here. We come here before campus concert. There was a large party of at least 10 people. They were happy but very loud. Older lady server and the younger lady working very hard to serve everyone, including taking our order. The chef prepping food in front of us must be new. Doesn't seemed to know what he needs to do to prepare my food. The younger lady had to coach him. He's just so slow. There's a young boy (elementary school kid age, must be owner's son. He is great. He is either a bus boy, cleaning the table, or in the kitchen getting soup ready, he knows what he's doing more than the new chef. I appreciate the miso soup before my food arrived. After a long wait, my poke salmon bowl came. It's very delicious. I'm very happy. My husband has the salmon maki roll. After the big party left, the older lady hustle again to clean the table and come to apologize (for the noise level of the big party). The fact that she knows it was loud, and this usually quiet tiny place is not prepared for large party, she knows and apologized. I appreciate that. And I told her large party is good for her business. That's all it takes for great customer service. My husband and I told them we'll certainly come back again.

New Owner, New Menu with Vegan options!!!My mind was blown to find out that there are so many vegan options. It's wonderful to see a fresh take on classic Japanese food. The owner Cindy and here staff are very kind and took care of any question or need I had. It was an awesome experience and again a breath of fresh air compared to the common sushi strip mall joins that litter our suburban landscape.Thank you Cindy for having some vegan options and again the menu has expanded widely with tons of classic sushi items, some ramen now and some carpaccio dishes! I've added pictures.

If you know me you know I love my sushi and am always looking to try something new. I was craving a bento box and wasn't feeling any of the spots by work. I cam across Domo Sushi and although it's a little bit of a drive from my office, it's worth it and I've been several times since. They have a good deal on their Bento Box which comes with chicken, rice, tempura veggies and one shrimp, and a side salad with dressing. I think they have changed up the box/style of the bento because the first time I got it I received some edamame with it too, but either way it's delicious and good portions. I've also tried their salmon roll which is an amazing deal for $6.50 and I hope it never changes and also their red dragon roll which was so good.I've only gotten to go from here which I've ordered online, but the staff working seem friendly and I always get my extra size of ginger :] If you're in the area and craving sushi check this place out!

WOW....idk if I was just hungry, but the beef bulgogi sandwich was amazing! I pulled over twice to take more bites. Dining area had lots of seating. I was there for pickup on a Wednesday. Service is great and they had my food out early. I need to tip better next time.
