I ordered the Cowboy Hot Iron Combination dish with spaghetti and chicken steak (combo A) in mushroom sauce, and it was absolutely delicious--full of flavor in every bite! The Winter Melon Tea was also amazing and complemented the meal perfectly. This place is very popular, and it's easy to see why.The service was great and ambiance felt really chaotic in the best way. The experience was well worth it, and I'll definitely be back! :)

Not kid friendly. We arrived with a group of 8. 5 adults 3 kids.We ddi t mind splitting 2 tables since it's a small restaurant. We asked can we sit -cross to each other. One lady said yes the other responded with she is going to sit there to eat. We wanted our party next to one another so we can help with the kids. what was unacceptable was having us split and squeeze in the smaller booths when there was a bigger booth available. Mind you all the 2 seater tables were available if her or the workers need to "eat".

Maybe I went on an off night but I was pretty underwhelmed by the experience. I've been craving Taiwanese sizzling steak plates for a while and since I was in the area was pretty excited to try out this place. We went around 7PM on a weekday and there was no wait which was great. I've read other reviews that said the place gets packed quick so we were pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty simple establishment with majority booths for seating. We were seated immediately and put in our order. The food also arrived really quickly which was a surprise. The service is okay. The owner was very nice and helpful but the male waiter was a little standoffish, made us feel a little uncomfortable. The prices are really good in my opinion for the amount of food that you get. Steak plate: 3/5 steak tasted a little bland but with the pepper sauce it definitely made up for the lack of flavor on the steak. My problem is that the steak is barely cooked when it came out. I ordered medium rare and it was definitely borderline raw. Given the quality of the steak I was hesitant to eat it like that. Ended up leaving the steak to cook for a little more on the hot plate and it was rare at best. Ended up not really eating the steak. The spaghetti and vegetables were good though. When I was there I heard a lot of people order the pork chop. Maybe that's what to get here given you don't have to pick a temperature to cook the meat at. Mixed feelings, might come back and give the pork chop a try.

Hands down one of the best sizzling pan restaurants in LA. They focus their menu items on sizzling pans and the aroma, flavor and texture of everything was simply divine. This is a no frill Taiwanese style sizzling pan cafe and it can get very busy during peak hours. They cooked my meats to perfection and I enjoyed every bite of my dish.

This rating is a mix of sentimental feelings but also the "worth" of the food from our recent experience at this restaurant. First off - hubs loves sizzling plates; sizzling steaks in particular. He grew up in Taiwan not appreciating food much but now sizzling steaks is one of his must-eats whenever we visit, and so naturally, we'd keep our eyes peeled for sizzling-plate restaurants in the area. We used to go to the previous location in the Nijiya plaza frequently when we lived in La Habra Heights pre-pandemic, but after we moved further south in the OC we'd still try to visit when we could until they closed. So when we discovered that Cowboy's Cafe re-opened in a new location, we were very excited and had to make the trip. We treated relatives visiting from afar to this place, and as a result, had a party of ~8 that were too big to fit into any table or booth. We ended up splitting our party into two tables - not ideal but grateful that they were willing to hold the adjacent table for us when we weren't all there at the same time. The sizzling steaks definitely lived up to standard, despite our high expectations. We had some chicken in the combo for the little one but definitely steak was best. (And yes, there were different parts of steak to choose from!) We expected a relatively high price tag compared to pre-pandemic prices so it wasn't much of a surprise, though maybe the portions were on the small side so even our kids were able to finish a meal on their own. For toddler-safety reasons we asked that the sauce be brought up separate but it probably tastes better if it's poured when it comes out. Overall we definitely would come back despite the long drive!

Cowboy's Cafe serves sizzling hot plates of meat, like chicken and steak. They're a small restaurant right by the 168 Market, and there's usually a bit of a wait.I've tried both the steak and the chicken, and I would recommend the steak. The steak is pretty good, but the chicken that I had was a third fat/cartilage or something I couldn't chew through, which was a waste. I find their black pepper sauce a little too sweet and not very peppery. The sizzle plates do come with a drink though - either green, black or wintermelon tea. Overall, it's a bit pricey for what you get, so not something I'd have all the time. Plenty of parking in the plaza!

The food was delicious but I didn't think I'd be spending $50 for lunch. I got the lamb chop and steak combo that came with some spaghetti, fried egg, 4 pieces of broccoli, and (upgraded for $1 more) large wintermelon. I was seated right away, was given a paper place setting with knife and fork, but no menu. I knew what I was going to get but no one said anything about scanning the barcode on the table. I was just sitting there for a good few minutes until I waved down someone to take my order. It only took a few minutes for the food to come out hot on the grill plate. The spaghetti was good but the mushroom sauce isn't really a mushroom sauce; had one small slice of canned mushroom in my order. I asked for hot sauce (for my broccoli) and got Sriracha, and was told it's the only hot sauce they have. I asked for my meats to be cooked medium rare and they definitely delivered. Both meats were tender and juicy. The parking here is plentiful. They have a few small tables for 1-2 ppl and bigger booths for parties of 6. I love the concept but I'm too broke for this.

Had the chance to try out Cowboy's cafe's new location. The interior is simple and functional, with a mix of booth and table seating. The Western-themed decor adds a bit of charm, but overall, the ambiance is quite casual. The menu features a variety of dishes, including sizzling steak plates and combo meals. I ordered the white fish and chicken combo with black pepper sauce. Unfortunately, the taste was mediocre and nothing special for the price point the combo deals were going for. The flavors were also bland, and the dish lacked the zest I was hoping for.The service at Cowboy's Cafe was disappointing. The staff seemed inattentive. It took a while to get our order taken, and the food arrived later than expected. This lack of attentiveness detracted from the overall dining experience. While Cowboy's Cafe has potential with its diverse menu and convenient location, the mediocre food and poor service make it hard to recommend. There are better dining options in Rowland Heights if you're looking for a satisfying meal and good service.Overall: 2/10

PRO-TIP: IF YOU ARE FROM THE 626 AND WANNA SEE A HILARIOUS HIDDEN IMAGE, TAKE A LOOK AT THE SCENIC PAINTING NEAR THEIR ENTRANCE, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Also, even though they say they close at 9 PM, it's more like they are closed and GONE by 9 PM. While we were dining there on a Friday evening, they were already putting their signs to CLOSE and shooing away some customers by 8:20 PM, so just keep that in mind just in case you do not make the cut. They do have a waitlist, but a table left right when we got there so we lucked out. I have actually never been to the OG Cowboy Cafe back when it was in the Nijiya Plaza, though I do crave this nostalgic Taiwanese style sizzling plate, seeing that the good ol' Coffee Break is no longer with us. They do have take out options, but if you're going to a sizzling plate place, you HAVE to get it hot and sizzling. We got the: 1) Popcorn chicken: -It's Taiwanese style popcorn chicken with the slightly raised and crackly breading to it. Wish the basil leaves were a bit more fried instead of soggy. -Went great with the ghost pepper sauce that they had on the side for customers to pick and choose. 2) Sizzling Plate Combo C & D: -Based on the letter you choose, you can choose which meat comes with your sizzling plate. We got rib eye steak and lamb chop, both where you can choose how it's cooked (we got level 4 & 7 medium rares if that makes any sense). -Each combo comes with a drink, so we got a wintermelon tea. -You can choose either getting rice or spaghetti, we opted for spaghetti. -For sauces you can choose their mushroom or black pepper sauce, and we got their mushroom sauce which came with a decent amount. -Each sizzling plate comes with some broccoli and a fried sunny side up egg as well. -Definitely 1 plate is enough to share amongst 2 or 3 people depending on how hungry you are, but definitely wished that they had a little bit more of the spaghetti. -Meat was moist and tender, quite flavorful too. Good stuff, would love to come back.

I've visited a few times, and I believe it's about time to reevaluate how it highlights what it has to offer. Every dish is made fresh, and you can personalize your protein choice. For appetizers, we tried the popcorn chicken, and it's honestly the most authentic I've ever had, especially with the basil. They also provide a complimentary drink with your entrée during dinner, which is a great bonus. It's a small spot, so be ready to wait a bit if it gets busy, but that usually only happens during lunch or peak hours.
