Clearman's North Woods Inn - Covina

Classic San Gabriel Valley steak house. I don't understand why they cram everyone into the bar area . Becomes very crowded . The cheese bread , cabbage and blue cheese salads are just an iconic staple . An excellent opener prior to Dinner. I had the porterhouse , nice size steak . Of course the baked potato and cheese butter was delicious . I think they have one of the best rice pilafs I've ever had . Absolutely my personal favorite. Our waiter was Forrest , absolute A+ for outstanding customer service.

Oh man ... this one hurts. I used to come here all the time to celebrate special occasions. I went three days ago and we had to walk out. Here are the reasons why: 1.) The place smelled dirty (booths smelled like fecal matter). 2.) dirty sliver ware and napkins (had stains on them). 3.) unidentified object in my drink (black item was floating in my drink)Clearly, something must have happened to the old management of this establishment because the new management clearly needs help.

Clearmans is an old school restaurant where you go to DINE, not just EAT. It is on the expensive side (about $20 to $30/person) but you get a lot for your money. It's not only the food but the ambiance. The servers are wonderfully dressed and have wonderful deportment. Food choices include a wonderful salad with a blue cheese-esque type of dressing. I normally do not like blue cheese but I like theirs. I have only had their steak once but it was very nice. Well cooked and flavorful. The cheese toast is an item everyone goes for. Addictive is a relevant description. If you don't have that much money they also have what is affectionately called a "bar menu". Everything from a hamburger to fish & chips. These will run you about $15. Great for lunch.And don't forget your peanuts!!

I hadn't been at Clearman's in years. And I am sorry that I went there today. This visit ruined my great memories. Maybe I should've gone there for dinner instead of lunch. In the menu I chose Burger with Chili. So you would think Chili Burger. What I got was a okay burger on a baguette type bread with. One gravy that was probably left over from Thanksgiving. But it had two little chili on the plate. It was disappointing and saddening. I used to love Clearman's. Now with having a rating of B you have to pay me to eat there.

My first time at Northwoods Inn was back in high school. I liked the ambiance since then. The lighting is nice and quaint. I didn't really know how to eat steak back then but as an adult I've had great experiences with eating the brisket and now with my boyfriend the tomahawk steak. This trip was special for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. Our server was attentive and checking in periodically, which was nice. This was my daughter's first time and my first time ordering from the kids menu. The kids meal was a good size for a kid. My boyfriend and I share the 34oz tomahawk and it was delicious. We came here back in September for our anniversary. This will now be our place for life accomplishments and other special days to us. Definitely a great family restaurant.

Great experience here. It has a very "homey" and comforting feel. Our server was great and very attentive. Surprisingly the salad was so good! Th cheese bread that came along with the dinner was delicious also. Everything that we ordered was tasty! Would definitely recommend to try at least once!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the service is warm and attentive. The portion sizes are very generous. Both the salad and potatoes were delicious and definitely the highlights of the meal.

North Woods has always been an amazing restaurant for me and my partner to visit. We've been coming for quite some time and always get the same thing.We both split the ribeye as it's a huge steak and we definitely could not finish the one meal on our own. The staff is always so great and it's always just a pleasure to continue coming back.The cheese bread and salad is just top tier. I honestly feel more excited for the bread than my actual meal lol! The ribeye also comes with rice and a baked potato which came out so well! It's truly just stuffing and worth every buck. This time we both got cocktails to enjoy. I got the spiked strawberry lemonade and I believe my partner got the pineapple mix... I forgot the name.. but they were both super tasty! Not too strong and not too sweet. North woods is definitely a great restaurant to visit, especially for special occasions. I definitely recommend to celebrate literally anything here. It's a fun environment inside the cabin-like aesthetic which gives it its uniqueness. I can't wait to come back!

This is an iconic Steakhouse in the Covina. It was established in the 1960s. It truly stands out as it resembles a snow-covered log cabin in the middle of the city! The Clearman restaurants have several locations, each one has a wonderful menu. They are unique in that peanuts are given and you are encourage to eat while you wait for your table and simply toss the shells on the floor! Yet, it's a great place for special occasions, a romantic date night with the dim lighting and Tiffany lamps in every room. It's classy and fun place to celebrate (P.S., a family member got engaged at this location more than 10 years ago!!). The Top Sirloin steak with Lobster cannot be beat. This combo begins with their famous CHEESEBREAD, and two salads, the first one is a green salad with Roquefort dressing and a red cabbage side salad, mix them together for a dynamite taste to whet your appetite. Next, a special stuffing is added in the Lobster tail, made of a "secret" recipe of barley and almonds. It is to die for! Their baked potato is HUGE! Be prepared to have leftovers the next day because the portions are very generous. Seafood lovers will enjoy the Salmon, Halibut, Jumbo Shrimp, Mahi-Mahi or Scallops. If you want a lighter meal they have sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs with chili and onions, and great Fried Chicken. This is a partial listing of the menu! If you can, save room for dessert, they make delicious ice cream sundaes in a schooner glass. This is a memorable place that you will enjoy, but they do not accept reservations. Plan on a wait time during peak dinner hours. Just see the hostess when you arrive and don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!

I was really hungry and in the mood for a great salad and some steak. I realized you just have to put salt on your steak when you come here. I love the salad. I ate like four bowls of it. I'm starting to like this place after all
