I remember going to CJ's in my 20's and thinking it was one of the best restaurants. Either the quality went down or my taste buds went WAY up. 7 of us on a Sunday evening and we were seated within 15 mins. When dining with kids, this was a plus. The kids menu was fine. Decent mac&cheese and a variety of items for the kids. I don't know if they usually give bread but we asked for it. The bread was pretty good with butter. They have a Happy Hour menu on Sundays from 3pm-9pm, which we ordered from. They don't have a beer list, but during HH, the beer bottles are $1 off. Off the HH menu, ordered the calamari and spinach artichoke dip. The portions are SMALL so we ordered 2 calamari's, pretzel bites, and 1 spinach artichoke dip. The calamari tasted OK- was very soft and chewy- but I was told to question calamari that comes in strips and no legs. It might not have been squid...maybe fish? The spinach artichoke dip was not good. It looked like it was microwaved and brought over (and over-microwaved at that). The pretzel bites were soft and pretty good. Came with a side of cheese. What we ordered:Kids meals~ mini corn dogs & Mac & Cheese. Kids said they all tasted fine, but out of everything, the pretzel bites were their favorite.Rib Eye (side of steamed broccoli)- Steak was cooked as requested (medium), however it was chewy and lacked flavor. Broccoli was fine.Clam Chowder- was a bit salty but OKBaby Back Ribs- were too dryMashed Potatoes- GoodMahi Mahi Burger- Cousin said it was good. HUGE. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner. There was plenty of room for larger parties and it was pretty clean. There were TVs on both sides of the room with sports playing. Everything seemed a bit outdated and...dull. Overall, nothing spectacular. There was parking on the other side of Claim Jumpers (not in front), but they do have a lot.

Made a reservation for Thanksgiving and since there were 6 of us we had to make two separate ones since it said to call in and tell them your party is more. My sister called more than 2 weeks before Thanksgiving when we made the reservations and spoke with one of the managers stating it would not let us make the reservations for more than 4 and to call. She let the manager know we had six people and two separate reservations at the same time. Could they please make sure to note on the reservations that we need to be seated together. Manager had an attitude from the get go stating that they were booked and he couldn't make sure that could happen. My sister being in the restaurant industry years ago let the manager know that since we had reservations at the same time surly they could make sure there was table to seat us all. Manager again stated he can't make people leave if they want to stay for 3 hrs then they can. Ok, how does that make sense when you're booked with reservations at a specific time and then you're being asked to wait for god knows how long to be seated after you arrive. Not how that works, but anyways he finally says he will note it on the reservations. Thanksgiving day we arrive and I let them know we had reservations and that the manager noted we were to be seated together. Again, attitudes with the hostesses stating they are booked and we won't be sitting together or anywhere near one another. I said we spoke with the manager and they stated they would note the reservations that we were to have a table of 6. Hostess gets the manager and she said she didn't speak with anyone about our reservations. My sister shows up says she spoke to a gentleman who said he was the manager. The female leaves comes back and says he never said he would make sure we would sit together and since it's sooooo busy we can't sit you together. So my sister proceeds to say so you don't care that you've told us we would note that we have a table for 6 and now your telling me you aren't going to do that or sit us next to one another. The manger said yep! My family and I went outside to discuss if we want to stay or leave, meanwhile other people who had been waiting for 30 minutes past their reservations were not too happy either. We went in and let them know to cancel our reservations and they said ok bye! We will never go back to this establishment again and the managers lack respect and responsibility. Claim Jumper get your shit together and train your managers and staff to handle things better when it comes to reservations.

Came here yesterday with my wife for their Valentine's Day special. Haven't been here in like 15 years and it looked good on the website. Place is a little outdated but like in a good nostalgic way. Service was quick and friendly, he was also very attentive. I ordered my steak medium and they sent out a medium rare steak, but I'm not one to send stuff back unless it's completely the wrong order (this is why I left 4 stars). Their twice loaded baked potato was amazing! All in all it was a great meal.

Always enjoy baby back ribs here and their clam chowder soup. For starters their spinach artichoke dip is one of my favorites here. This time I ordered roasted tri tip entree with two sides baked potato and creamy corn. I had ordered my tri tip medium and they over cooked it so the manager made sure to make it right and made another order cooked medium.Plenty of seating and always a great ambient at this location, this location is one of the few left in California.

There are not many Claim Jumpers left in the area but this is one of them. It is usually pretty busy since it is right across the street from Knott's Berry Farm. I have been here twice in the past year including one this past week to grab a bite to eat with friends before going Knott's Scary Farm. This location does feel a little run down compared to other locations I went to several years ago before they all shut down.I usually get the roasted tri-tip entree cooked medium rare with two sides. It was cooked well and only had a tiny bit of gristle. The veggies were fresh and the fries were hot and had a nice crisp. All of the old Claim Jumpers used to serve the meat with a real good brown gravy/au-jus sauce but this location doesn't do that. The server did bring me a side of regular au-jus upon request which was better than nothing. Everybody else at the table seemed to enjoy their meals and service was good.

Came for lunch today. Took one hour after we ordered to get our food. We watched others, who arrived after us, get their food. Could not be more disappointed.

Got here early enough and was able to order the Wedge Salad from the Happy Hour menu, perfect size. Whether it's lunch or dinner, I usually get the Asian Grilled Chicken Salad but I saw they added Jambalaya to their menu... can't go wrong with shrimp, andouille sausage, and blackened chicken! My fiancée ordered his go-to Country Fried Steak, that's his favorite dish at Claim Jumper. We then ordered Carrot Cake to go, it's a huge slice that was more than enough for both of us. We like to sit in the bar section and watch the games while we're eating. Kudos to our server who handled the whole bar section with a smile on her face. This restaurant is literally right across from Knotts. We were lucky to find parking but I did see people get out of their cars and walk straight to Knotts so it might be hard to find parking.

There used to be a lot of this chain around SoCal, but there aren't many left. I came here because I saw they'd added jambalaya to the menu. It comes with a choice of rice or pasta, which means that it's not cooked in the rice as jambalaya should be, but that actually doesn't make all that much difference, because in this case the sauce seeps into the rice (heavy sticky rice, jasmine type I think) and it tastes much the same. What's on top of that rice is a cornucopia of sausage, chicken (not too dry), shrimp, and veggies including cherry tomatoes and thin slivers of various bell peppers. Quite a good dish. The restaurant is clean, fairly spacious, and friendly.
