Location / It is located in a plaza where there's plenty of parking for you. The restaurant inside is quite spacious and you can dine in. Service / You actually order on the kiosk and they will bring the food out for you. So there is kind of a minimal interaction with the staff, but the kiosk is very user-friendly and has pictures with the menu items with prices. Food / I got their chicken and rice which came with some hot broth on the side, some veggies, chicken, broth, rice, and of course they're poached chicken. The chicken came out very tender and juicy, and gave her a pretty good portion of it. The rice was really fragrant and I think the combo of chicken and rice was the perfect combination . Even though it is such a simple dish, it is such a comforting meal and does not make you feel terrible. I will definitely come back here again when I'm craving for chicken and rice as it's a lot more closer to where I am and happy that I don't need to drive to LA for this.

I ordered Hainan chicken and spicy fried chicken to try with my mom. I had tried a few Hainan chicken places in the past but I have yet found one I like. This restaurant is new so I want to give it a shot. The rice was good but not the chicken. The Hainan chicken was so overcooked and tasted so bad. We couldn't finish the chicken. Luckily the fried spicy chicken was ok. Service was ok with self service Kiosk. Very casual places with a couple tables. Better for take out. I would go again but only order the rice and spicy chicken.

Travelled here after seeing a post on IG. The food definitely lives up to the expectations. It's a small shop but has a really welcoming feel. Ordering seems to be by kiosk only and they have a BOGO on Thai Tea, which was delicious. Not too sweet and not too milky. The food was great. Got their chicken and rice combo. Comes in a decorated box with a tray that sits within it. The sauce tastes very authentic and reminds me of my Moms Hainan chicken sauce. Soup was good and at the perfect temperature. It paired really well with the chicken and rice. Salad was refreshing and their dressing wasn't too strong. Will come back here..

Located in a business strip with shared parking lot. They have 2 reserves spaces marked at least for their business. When walking in , there are few tables and chairs to sit and eat at. There are 2 ordering kiosks as you walk further in. You would need to place your own order. There is someone sitting in the side that brings out the food for you. There were like 3 other people in there when I came in already eating.I ordered the Hainan chicken with ginger rice. It came out with bento box style. The chicken was good and ginger rice was a bit dense for me. The sauce to dip the chicken was good. The salad with oil dressing was good. The broth was hot and good. It was a different take compared to other Hainan chicken dishes I've had.

Chicken On Rice is a local family owned business serving up some delicious Thai style Hainan chicken. This spot is more of a hole in the wall spot tucked away into a side plaza. There are a good amount of parking spots here.Inside, they have 3-4 tables for seating. They have two self-ordering kiosk machines at the front to place your orders. Since I came during lunch, I opted to get the lunch combo #3 which comes with half poached chicken, half fried chicken, ginger rice, egg rolls, salad, a bowl of broth, and a soda! All of that was only $17.99 which was definitely worth it given their generous portion sizes. Overall, this spot is a solid option bringing Hainan chicken to the HB area. All of the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend stopping by to get one of their lunch combos!

Came here during a work trip to get myself a Hainan chicken fix, so I ordered the Combination Chicken with Ginger rice. As soon as I walked in, there was a guy who kindly greeted me and helped me take my order. I really wanted to like this place because I'm in this area for work from time to time, but I feel like I came out disappointed. Maybe it's the standard I have for CA, or that I've tried too many different Hainan chicken dishes, but neither the boiled or crispy chicken had much flavor (the sauce was...ok). Also, the crispy chicken wasn't the Hainan crispy chicken I was expecting--it was more like a chicken katsu. The rice was flavorful but pretty dense, and the soup was tasty too.The restaurant was empty and stayed that way the entire time I dined, and it seems to be catered to takeout orders as they appeared to lack a restroom. Overall, I feel like $18 for a bunch of fillers, like rice, salad and soup, with a small side of flavorless chicken wasn't worth the price.

Important note: This store is "cashless". They only take card payments.Hainanese chicken rice is a dish of poached chicken and seasoned rice, served with chili dipping sauce and cucumbers. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore and is available in most food courts and hawker centers around that country. There are also Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese variations of this dish. (I only mention this because the food here does not taste exactly like the Chinese recipe.) It has its origins as street food."Chicken on Rice" is located in a strip mall on Beach Boulevard. It is easy to find if you're looking for it; but from the street, it doesn't have a lot of visibility. I suspect that the store does a lot of take-out. The store has a small dining room. It's clean, functional--and stylish; but relatively spare. It's a simple meal. It's a really clean meal (poached chicken; fresh vegetables; not fried). The food was good; the presentation was excellent. When you receive your order, it's packed in a bento-type box. The poached chicken is served atop the seasoned rice; another compartment has a "bowl" of chicken broth; there's a small fresh salad; and fresh cucumber slices.

I was craving Hainan chicken and realized this place was really close so I figured I'd try it out. I ordered the Combo #3 which is regular Hainan chicken and crispy Hainan chicken on rice in a bento box that included soup, cucumbers, egg rolls and salad.I placed a phone order and it was ready in 10 mins. Once you walk in, it's small but clean. Even though I did the phone order, they asked me to go up to the kiosk to place my order and pay. After that was done, they handed me my food and off I went.Breakdown of the meal:Soup: Very Salty and a little on the oily sideRice: A little too soggy and saltyEgg rolls: crispy outside and soggy inside. A little blandSalad: fresh and the dressing was good but go light because that was salty as wellHainan chicken: interesting flavor but not really the flavor I'm used to and a tad squishy in texture. The sauce was also not traditional and I didn't care for it. Crispy Hainan chicken: really tasty but very chicken Katsu taste and texture. The combo is the best bang for your buck at $17.99 for all of that food plus a drink. Combos are only served 11am-3pm.I might come back for the crispy Hainan chicken but that would be about all I reorder if I do venture back here. The ladies were super sweet and parking was easy since it's in a shopping plaza.
