"AYCE selection is so yummy and fresh.Service is good and very helpful. Lots of varieties that you can choose. The place is kinda small and they are pack. This is our 1st time visiting this year. Will coma back"
"I'm pretty picky about fish because I'm not great with fishy taste. Satisfied here because the fish here was fresh :)I ordered the spicy yellowtail and the fresh salmon. Both are delicious though I liked the spicy yellowtail best. The medium spicy house sauce (you can pick the levels) definitely had a bit of gochujang in it and it was very well balanced. I do think the fresh salmon could use a touch for lemon for a more distinct taste. But overall ver satisfied. It's a comfortable and casual spot, and service was very nice, so all in all very satisfied for a quick bite. I'll be back!"

"I've been here a bunch of times and it's always great. My favorites are the Creamy crunch and Salmon lover rolls, the monkey roll is also very good. I haven't had a bad roll here, however we did get edamame once and they didn't put any salt or anything on it, so I thought that was odd. Miso soup is basic, nothing special.I normally get cut rolls or hand rolls here, but I haven't tried their nigiri(sushi) or sashimi, so I have no opinion on that. The staff is all super nice and they're always prompt, very quick preparation, and they have never messed up my order!"
"We got our 2nd Tuna Event and just refreshing to have fresh tuna, from the sea to our table. It's all you can eat tuna until you're tunafiedBefore 2024 ends, we'll have a 3rd round for Tuna Event."
"I am shocked that this place gets such high reviews. Maybe it's because people are comparing it to other AYCE sushi experiences. At $27.99 per person for lunch they cannot be serving high quality fish and still turn a profit. Food: The actual sushi/fish offerings are average at best. If you order any of their rolls it wont matter though. Because they will over sauce it to cover up the fact the fish have no natural sweetness. Their Tonkatsu ramen was very bland. Completely lacked the richness characteristic of a Tonkatsu broth, and the marinated pork had no flavor. Service: The restaurant was roughly 80% full yet it still took 15 minutes to get my first order of sushi. You certainly do get what you pay for in life. At this price point, it's possible that I'm expecting too much."
"I came to this place because I heard it had authentic Japanese chefs. Keep in mind, because of this marketing, as well as the fact that they import their fish from Japan, the prices are going to be sky high. It was like $5 for one piece of nigiri, or $30 for a fish collar. This place is very popular, so make sure to make a reservation or come like 10min before they open, as people will line up outside the restaurant.Getting that out of the way... It was a great restaurant in terms of the Japanese vibe and authenticity. The chefs are indeed Japanese and you can ask them questions about the dishes which they will answer skillfully. We did not go here for sushi, though there were many people ordering omakase here. We ordered a variety of their other dishes, including two fish collars (salmon and young yellowtail), the crab stuffed salmon, tempura, and liver. The highlight for me was the salmon collar. Fatty and moist, it was easily the most delicious dish. It far surpassed the young yellowtail, which wasn't as fatty and tasted fishier. The tempura came out hot, but it had such thick batter that I was overwhelmed by the oily taste. A thinner batter would've been better to let the shrimp shine. The stuffed salmon was okay. The crab inside was yummy, but the salmon on the edge was not. I did not eat the liver so I can't say whether that was good.I'd like to one day come back for their omakase experience, where I can talk to the chefs at the bar."
"Tried 4 different sushi rolls and they were all delicious! Fresh, rich flavors with great presentation. The service was excellent and all the staff were very friendly. Great experience!"
"Best pregame food! We were in line for Kbbq and we were really hungry and decided to get something quick and this sushi was the perfect treat before eating. The guy who was there working was so kind and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was greeted and comfortable. Come get some rolls!"
"11-27-24: Tried a new spot for lunch and was impressed they had a gluten free bento box option...which was really tasty."
"This place is indeed awesome. Came on a late Monday evening and it was busy! Almost all tables were full. We were seated right away and started browsing the menu. There's a large variety of options, but I went straight for the specialty rolls. I ended up getting 2 rolls, one XOXO and one love your smile. Both were fantastic. They came out quickly, and tasted fresh.Overall I had a great experience here and would come back. It's not really cheap, but good sushi places typically aren't. For a reference point, our total was almost exactly $100 after tax and tip. Together we had 2 bottled beers and 4 specialty roles. The restaurant is a bit tight and a little cramped, but the food more than makes up for any discomfort.I'd definitely consider coming back here if in town again."
"Fast service! Arrived around 6pm, it was pretty quiet. Handful of customers inside. We ordered right away, food came out super fast. Everything was tasty! Sushi was a tad bit pricey but it's the inflation. Restaurant was clean. Servers/host/waiters were friendly and efficient. Limited parking spots, small lot. Pros: buy two special rolls, get one free! Monday through Thursdays."
"I'm not one to throw around 5-star ratings lightly, but this place deserves it. Here's why:First off, Korean food--specifically tofu soups--always hits the spot. But let's be honest: I'm usually driving out of my way to get it, and during the workday, the commute eats into my lunch time. BCD Tofu House is always packed, and places like Yigah can be a bit too pricey for an everyday lunch. Enter this spot. For $17 before tip, I asked for mild, and they nailed it--the soup wasn't watered down, just a slight kick, with the seafood adding a nice savory depth to the broth. Now, about the banchan--wow. Normally I'm all about kimchi, radish kimchi, and a bit of fishcake, maybe a bite of the potato salad if I'm feeling adventurous. But here? I ate all five banchan clean! The seaweed salad was thinly sliced and crunchy, the broccoli imitation crab salad was a fun new addition, and the kimchi was perfectly tart and crunchy. There was also a tofu kimchi with some dry pickled fish that was salty and savory, pairing perfectly with my rice and soup. But the real highlight was an apple/radish cream salad--seriously, it reminded me of those Mexican fruit salads with walnuts. It was refreshing and sweet, the perfect end to a meal, especially during this freak heatwave!Price point - Portion - Flavor - Ambiance. As soon as you walk in, it wasn't packed so I found a seat immediately which was nice. The space has a beautiful mural of a Korean village behind the counter, and the open seating made for a relaxed vibe. The hostess was super kind and helpful, and I couldn't help but smile when I realized The Cranberries were playing in the background. Throughout my meal, I was serenaded by 90's nostalgia--Cher, Sixpence None the Richer, and even some Latin tunes. It felt like a musical time machine! Plus, the place was impeccably clean, which always scores major points in my book.Ambiance - Customer Service:I didn't catch the name of the hostess/server, but she was a gem--friendly, checked in regularly, and overall made the experience so pleasant. There's a button on the table for when you need something, but seriously, people: use it responsibly. Treat your servers well, tip generously, and act like you're in a civilized society.Customer Service - Overall, I had a pleasant experience. This place was acquired or under new management as of a year ago and they changed the name, They no longer serve sushi and have leaned into offering more Korean dishes, which I think is a smart move. It's tucked behind a bank next to Starbucks, so it's easy to miss, but trust me, it's worth seeking out. Plenty of parking and easy access make it a convenient spot for anyone craving authentic Korean food.Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back!"

This was my first time trying yubu. It's very similar to Japanese inari except it comes with fish on top. We ordered the soy-marinated salmon, spicy salmon, creamy onion salmon, and seared salmon yubus, and they were all delicious. They had a generous amount of fish in each one, making them a bit difficult to eat because the fish would spill out with each bite.My favorite would definitely have to be the soy-marinated salmon. It was perfectly sweet and savory, and I wish I had ordered more. We also ordered the udon, and the broth was unlike any I've ever had before. The spices made it extra flavorful, and it definitely hit the spot on a cold day. Plus, if you order three yubus it comes with a free miso soup, which was a pretty good deal since each yubu is around $5.The service was excellent and the food comes out quickly even if they're busy with other orders. There is a lot of bar-style seating in the restaurant with a few tables, and it's very easy to find a place to sit since people usually don't stay very long. Parking also isn't a hassle at all because it's located in a large plaza. Overall, I would definitely try this place again so I can order a lot more soy-marinated salmon yubus!

FOOD: excellent, fresh, doesn't not taste fishy at all SERVICE: quick, friendly and attentive AMBIANCE: it's a very small space, it could be a little cleaner but that's just me being picky for how pricey this place can be. Overall, this is a great place to have some great great seafood.

I genuinely cannot express how happy I am to have stumbled upon this new AYCE Sushi spot. I had heard of their other locations before, but never had a chance to actually go to one until I was in the area and noticed that this one had opened up. The quality of the sushi was great for an AYCE sushi spot, and the rice to fish ratio was perfect in my opinion. The fish was nice and tasted fresh, from their salmon to their yellowtail. I love that they have other options as well in addition to their sushi, such as ramen, udon, or hand rolls. Generally, when a sushi spot tries to do too much all at once, they fall short in certain areas, but X-Fish Izakaya is not one of those restaurants. While their ramen was average at best, the rest of their options definitely make up for it. They do have a cooldown time for ordering, but we did not notice this too much, as we were busy eating while the timer ran down and by the time we finished, we were able to order more immediately!

I was recommended to try Ohshima for their omakase, and it certainly lived. Reservations are recommended due to the limited seating, and the bar is exclusively for omakase--no American sushi rolls here. The omakase was priced at $70 per person, including 10 pieces of sushi and one appetizer. The balance of rice to fish was perfect, and I appreciated that no extra sauces were needed. We didn't try any drinks but had the homemade green tea flan for dessert. I would've liked more fruit, but the green tea flavor was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, cleaning up after us when needed and ensuring our drinks were constantly refilled. There's plenty of parking outside, and despite some mixed reviews regarding price, ownership changes, and food quality, I left very satisfied.

Came here to try the sushi combination, which is essentially omakase for just $47, and I was honestly surprised by how good the fish quality was for the price. Totally worth it! The rolls were also solid, and they're currently running a BOGO 50% off deal on rolls, beer, and sake, which makes it an even better deal. The service was great--our waiter was super friendly and even gave us miso soup on the house. The food came out pretty quickly, and the restaurant itself has a cozy Japanese vibe. Definitely a hidden gem for quality sushi at a reasonable price. Will be coming back!

this place is right next to my house pretty good super friendly sushi were rolls where a nice size. I got the baked salmon roll. It was really good, but I did not understand why they put cold cream cheese in the sushi roll. Other than that. Everything else was pretty good. I also got. A shrimp tempura roll. That was really good. Definitely be back and definitely no cream cheese. lol

"The service was great, and the poke bowls were the perfect size! Got the small poke bowl with 2 scoops of tuna. Their squid salad is great, and they have so many toppings to choose from!"
"Their flavors are phenomenal! My husband and I shared a spicy chicken sandwich and tenders meal and the spicy seasoning/powder they add to the chicken is delicious. Their flavors aren't as spicy as some places but there is a good kick to it! My niece got popcorn chicken with one of their signature sauces, it was very flavorful and delicious. It was our first time there so we took some time to decide what we wanted to order. The man taking our order (and running the whole show in the kitchen) was so helpful and answered all of our questions. He even let us try out some sauces to make sure that we like it before we ordered it. He made sure we got everything we order the way we wanted it. Highly recommend this place for the delicious food and great customer service."
"Amazing prices / great value! Had a lunch special for only ~$13 (w/o tip)Had teriyaki chicken, rice, a roll of sushi, miso soup, and a salad.Service was good! I was the only person in the restaurant for lunch timeI'm not sure how this small business is doing, but I truly do hope it survives. Great value and the food was pretty standard! Japanese restaurants have really been skyrocketing in prices, so it's nice to see affordability here. I'll admit you get what you pay for so the quality of the food was, ehhhhhhhNo reinventing the wheel here, just standard Japanese food. Can't go wrong with that!"
"Loved this restaurant! From the drinks to the food to the amazing service. Brien was our server and was amazing. He gave great suggestions and was very attentive and friendly. Food we tried: unagi Don, crispy rice, spicy edamame, variety of handrolls. Everything was delicious! Drink: tried the velvet sour and it was the perfect balance. Not overly sweet but just enough. Will be back and highly recommend. Tip: join waitlist on yelp if coming in the evening time when they experience higher wait times."
"We came on Valentine's Day & the service was exceptional ! Diego was our server and he explained the prefix menu and everything was amazing . Definitely will be coming back!"
"Grabbed a couple of rolls to go for my sushi addicted daughter. Only thing I remember ordering for her was some kind of scallop rolls. Requested eel sauce, regardless of what kind of roll it was. Sat and chatted with sushi chefs while waiting for my order. Friendly staff. I'll drop by for lunch next time. My daughter did enjoy the food."
"Such a cozy place, Ramens super good, the Sushis amazing. We ordered Kara miso ramen, volcano roll, Bake salmon roll , Okinawa Sashimi, spicy garlic edamame . Everything tasted excellent.Fresh and delicious options and a buy one get one 50% on a big portion of the menu. The price was right. Servers are always friendly and accommodating. Love this place !"
"I love sushi. But after too much of it, it just starts to taste like a dead animal that hasn't been cooked --Amy LeeI love sushi too. So much of it though is overpriced and pretentious, like too much of this world is already. A neighborhood joint like Sushi Yun fills the bill most times. Small, unpretentious, friendly, Kikushui sake in the house plus free corkage. They make one of my favorite apps - Spicy Tuna on crispy rice - and the sushi and the rolls are solid. I notice most reviews are older, this place has been around forever and is still chugging along. I recently found it and have been twice. Better than the older reviews hint it would be which is another reason why sometimes one must ignore Yelp reviews and just try a place out. Recommended!"
"I am a regular at Ootoro Irvine. It's consistently excellent quality and fair priced. I prefer table seating and lunch combo, cirashi and sashimi vs hand roll sets. I am not a business person but if sales are less than expected they could move the bar all the way back and setup tables and try that. Irvine seems very busy."
"Today 6/27/2024 I revisited my favorite teriyaki place- noticed some changes in the dining area including a sushi bar. I said to the employee at the counter- "wow it looks different in here"" she mentioned they were new owners what? Oh no! Does the food taste the same? She said try it and let me know- I ordered the number #97 chicken teriyaki with tempura. I tried it and I must say food has not changed a bit! Still delicious- tasty and portions are the same. . Best wishes to the new owner. I'll definitely be back!"
"I've been to other Kopan locations and I'm so happy to see one here in WC! Ramen is the best medicine on cold winter days, especially when you're feeling a little sick. I needed a quickly satisfy my ramen craving, and it hit the spot. I looked at the sushi options too, but I wasn't in the mood for sushi. The ramen is exactly how I remember at the other locations. The downfalls of the ramen I received...-I wanted a hot soup to soothe my throat. The soup was between room temp and the ideal hot for how I was feeling. -The chashu seems to be cut a lot thinner than I remember. I remember, which was some time ago, the slices being double the thickness that what I received. -I don't remember if I saw extra toppings on the menu, like the crunchy onion and garlic. But post meal, I see it's on the online menu. -There seemed to be a huge amount of ramen and less broth. Although I enjoyed the amount of ramen, there's also a balance of broth to ramen. Wish there was more broth in the serving I received. Now, the broth was very flavorful. The spice was perfectly mild, the way I like it. The chashu perfectly cooked and flavorful. Service was good. The server was attentive for the most part. Felt a bit rushed, but it seemed like he was the only one on the floor. I was still enjoying my ramen and he already asked if I was ready to settle the bill. I kindly obliged and paid my bill at that moment. I could have potentially ordered sushi, depending how content I was after the ramen, or even dessert. Parking is convenient. The plaza does have a parking structure. Although, it appears that they are doing some construction, so there are large containers in the parking spaces. There is also street parking, which is a shorter walking distance on Glendora, where the entrance is located. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be looking forward to dining here again in the near future."
"Food was good and competitive prices. However they charge for everything. I mean, everything -- teriyaki sauce, hot sauce/sriracha, to go boxes if you have leftovers. They also poach for positive Yelp reviews, you text a screenshot to some phone number, and you get two free gyozas. Do what you will with that information."
"Really intimate, casual atmosphere , good for date night, good service. Food is good and portions are good! I just wish the sushi rice was a bit warmer and softer.I like their selection of sushi and would definitely come back again ."
"I decided to give Tabi-Ji a try for dinner during a work trip, and it exceeded expectations despite the restaurant being quiet at 7:30 PM. We had made reservations for 8:30 but surprised we weren't able to get a table at 7:30. Based on the restaurant's positive reviews, we decided to give it a try--and it didn't disappoint. My colleague and I chose the hibachi grill experience and were entertained by our chef who prepared our meals to perfection. Our meals started with salads served with ginger and sweet dressings on the side, both of which were delicious. The chicken broth soup was equally flavorful.I ordered the steak and shrimp combination with extra fried rice, and the portions were generous and satisfying. They meals came with a shrimp appetizer. Along with the entree, vegetables were also grilled and served. Overall, I highly recommend Tabi-Ji for its great food. I would like to visit again and try their sushi menu."
"My daughter wanted to try Japanese food for her 6th birthday. We came here for lunch and they did not disappoint. She got the bento box for kids. The miso soup was her favorite part of the meal. The teriyaki salmon was a good size and had good flavor. The California rolls were just meh, but it was her first experience, so we wanted to keep it simple. The titanic rolls were also just okay. I liked my crunchy rolls more. Overall, our experience was delightful, and my daughter wants to experience different cuisines. They also brought out a complimentary ice cream for her that was delish. The garlic edamame was the highlight, though. We could not stop munching on these."
"So cute in here. Great service! Food was fresh n tasty. Would definitely recommend to check this place out"
"Great quality of fish with a lot of different variety to choose from. The service was very quick and attentive as well, checked in on us. Glad I found this spot and enjoyed authentic sushi!"
"Great little teriyaki shop in Anaheim! Great portions and prices, bowls are generous with portions and you can always swap out rice for veggies if you're watching carbs. I like the chicken more than the beef here. Staff is very nice and helpful, always love stopping by after the gym!"
"Tonight was our first time trying out this restaurant. First of all, the service was fantastic! Not sure why this seems to be an issue. There's NO issue at all! Now, to the food... we had the La Plebona, Pulpo Zarandeado, Taco De Pescado and Taco Gobernador. All the food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. This place is totally worth a visit!! We will definitely be returning!"
"Great food!Fantabulous service !Very cozy, casual sushi locationDefinite favorite place of ours."
"Best experience ever ! I've been to the El Monte location as well but Whittier didn't disappoint! Food was delicious drinks refreshing ! And the service was excellent! The ladies even helped my sisters out and played a song for my dad for Fathers Day ! Thank you ladies appreciate your hospitality"
"8/16/24 PERFECT way to end the work week, the best choice for Friday dinner!Again, I am surprised I have not dropped a review for Kabuki. Hubby & I have dined here before. It was a loooonnnggg work week & we both decided to dine out. We threw some options in the air& ended at Kabuki. It was close to 10 pm on a Friday & so many places were closed already. We appreciate that this location closes at 11 pm, and to our surprise, Happy Hour starts late today, it's either 8:30 or 9 pm til closing. Please see photo). For a Friday night, there used to be time when this restaurant was packed with a waitlist. Sign of the times. We were greeted by the hostess & accommodated the request to lower the volume of the background music. My ears were ringing from today's chaos. Our server, Andrea, lovely & friendly server arrived shortly thereafter. I was ordering with my eyes so I opted for the the chicken teriyaki and tempura +2 sushi rolls: avocado roll and yellowtail roll.. Hubby ordered Philadelphia, tina. Hh"
"With so many choices for sushi restaurant in Chino Hills, Vanilla Fish stands out due to the cheerful, fun and lively atmosphere. One special dish you can only get here is the ALBACADO, which is albacore topped with slices of avocado in the shape of a ball, finished with tasty eel sauce. They only make a limited number daily so come early otherwise it maybe sold out.The blue crab hand roll is one of our favorite. Paired with sake bomb for a fun evening with friends or casual date night.Escolar is on the menu and worth trying.Service is prompt and friendly. Everything here is tasty so don't be afraid to try different things on the menu or ask the chef for something special.Pro tip: sit at the bar for a great time interacting with the chef, who may even buy you a round or two of drinks to toast."
