"The chicken schnitzel was one of the best dishes we've ever had in our lives. The chicken was moist and well seasoned, the combination of textures with the pasta it's served with went SO well. The maitake flavor pairs so well, this could be a Michelin star dish. The brussel sprouts were also delicious. The duck wings were good but I wasn't as into them as the other dishes. Heather was our server and she was so great and knowledgeable on the menu. The restaurant was cozy and upscale with white linen table clothings. A 10/10 experience all around, we will def be returning."
"Accidentally made it to Newport Beach go late to eat dinner somewhere else in balboa ; THANK GOODNESS . Because we stumbled upon San Shi Go . Their attention to detail. AMAZING! The food 20/10 . And the dessert chestnut social was out of this world. And if you're contemplating getting ice cream and like savory ice cream ; GET THE BLACK SESAME"

"Been going here since my high school days in 2015! Now that I live out of state, I look forward to visiting this place whenever I get the chance. My boyfriend says this is the best poke place he's had in his life! The food quality has always been consistent and the fish is always so fresh. I also appreciate that the sauces are on the less salty side so that it doesn't overpower the freshness and quality of the fish. Shout out to the guy working who recognized us from the first time we came here after the airport! :-) service is amazing! He gave amazing recs."
"February 15, 2025 | Hacienda Heights: Over the Weekend, 5 friends & I had dinner at Grab A Crab! Yum! Delicious seafood, definitely plentiful & in an upbeat atmosphere!Seafood Boil | Sharing is Caring: Exciting seeing the seafood being poured out of the bag & onto a silver platter on the table! Shrimp, lobster & oysters! Oh my! Hahaha! The plate also included crabs legs(Tasty!), mussels, potatoes, boiled eggs(Yum!), corn on the cob (Yum! Bring dental floss!)...and more! I also absolutely loved the sauce and seasoning of it all... Delicious!!Surprised: I did peel the shrimp out of the shell but when it came to the other seafood; cracking open the crab legs...grateful friends did this...I like it already out of the shell! Ha! Dining Style: Gloves & a bib?! Hahaha! What?! It was my first time experiencing this dining style! Hilarious & turned out fun...though I did use several pairs of gloves, grateful the glove box was right next to me! This style of eating can get a bit messy, which I wasn't used to! At one point, my freshly manicured natural nails poked through the gloves! Haha! Lots of laughs at dinner!Additional Orders: We also ordered separate dishes, as well as side dishes: Gumbo, pasta, sweet potato fries(Yum!) & bang bang shrimp with rice and broccoli! ( Yum, loved the sauce!)Drinks: We all ordered a variety of drinks! Introduced one of my friends to Mango Cart, she loved it! It's light & refreshing! Atmosphere: Popular/VERY busy! There was a 120 minute wait, though friends & I kept busy catching up! Family friendly & upbeat!Customer Service: Friendly & attentive, thanks again!Overall: If you're looking for a fun time, eating delicious seafood with an upbeat family atmosphere & friendly customer service, this is the place! We had a blast & looking forward to doing it again!"
"Excellent customer service. Aarika was just a joy. Ambiance was chill. The food was amazing! They make their pasta from scratch. Crème brûlée was perfect! Will def come back."
"The seafood here was amazing and fresh... I recommend coming in early so they don't run out of certain seafoods... as they did not have all the clams when we came last. The service was pretty good but you do have to wave down the server a few times to bring napkins and water when they are busy.I'd give them 5 stars but their noodles are meh... and the soup I had last time was lackluster as well. So I highly recommend seafood and stick to the seafood!"
"Il Farro has a special place in my heart. From the extensive and delicious menu options to the attentive service, there's no place I'd rather dine after walking along the pier. I love sitting at the bar and having a yummy made-to-order drink. The Caesar salad, calamari, and bread are also my favorites! Il Farro has been around for decades but has always been the favorite restaurant among my family and friends. It truly feels like Il Farro is a celebration of community, one that I am proud to be a part of. The environment is also really comforting, as they have remodeled in the past few years and have beautiful decorations! I recommend Il Farro to everyone who comes to OC, and I can't wait for my next visit."
"Oak and Coal has been on my list for a while, thanks to TikTok. It was also on my husband's list to try. Finally made it out with my husband and toddler one Monday evening in October, and we were not disappointed! There was no wait, but the steady foot traffic showed we were in for a treat. Here's what we tried: * Chicken Karaage: Perfectly cooked with a crispy, flavorful batter. The hint of lemon zest in the batter was a great touch, so we didn't even need to add extra lemon. * Chashu Bao Buns: Delicious, fluffy bao buns with pork that was tender and flavorful. Everything in it was perfectly balanced. * Kurobuta Sausage Skewer: The sausage was juicy and flavorful. Can't go wrong with it. * Snake River Wagyu Beef Skewer: Cooked to perfection. The flavor was fantastic, and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender. * Seared Hamachi: Good, though we've had slightly better. The grilled asparagus was a nice addition, pairing well with the fish. For drinks, my husband tried a bartender's choice cocktail, which was deliciously refreshing. I went with the lychee spritz--light, refreshing, and not overly sweet.Overall, Oak and Coal was an awesome dining experience, and we can't wait to return and explore more of their full bar in the back (reservations only). Highly recommend!"
"My first time trying out this place. I have heard good things about this place and finally got the chance to try it out since I was near by. Good that they have a parking lot and when you enter their restaurant you are greeted. First of all, the smell that hits you upon entering; you're already drooling or maybe I was that hungry. I smelled amazing. So I got myself two fish tacos and a shrimp. In all honesty, by my life experiences at other places I would receive diet sized fish strip or baby shrimp in a taco. This place they really mean business, you are not going to receive no diet sized strips, they gonna give you the real thing. The flavors, they are actually there. Cutting my story short this place is really worth it. Loved the food so much and they even give you chips and salsa. The salsa made me tear up because it tasted so close to what my grandma's."
"My favorite sushi bar, and at an unexpected location. Didnt know they also have at little tokyo too. Their halibut is so good, it has its own unique flavors added like something zesty, and their yellowtail is so soft and even their albacore (which i find is hard to find thats not to fishy tasting). My favorite is their variety chirashi bowl, halibut sushi, yellowtail and albacore sushi. I got their mixed tempura like 4 times but no more unforunately. We love fried tempura, but the shrimp (which is everyones favorite) is TOO salty! Its always too salty, i wish they made it less salty and then we will order it. Idk why they cant just add less salt?? All 4 times, so i guess its their thing? Notba fancy looking place inside but their quality speaks for itself! Yumm"
"Food overall was okay. Filet Mignon tasted better than Asada. The Shredded Beef taquitos appetizer is very good. Guacamole not impressed. Ceviche way over priced $25 for 3 very small portions. Tacos were okay, tortillas were way too greasy. Transferred to flour tortillas. The green salsa is very good and tasty!Ambiance for Sat night after 5pm was great. Super busy for small place and great music and choice of music. The bar was full and no empty space.Service was decent. Did not clear plates enough especially for very small tables. Reservation for sisters bday of 8 people and they awkwardly place one square and one round table together. Not convenient, or logical."
"Tucked away in West Covina, Canaan Chinese Cuisine is a hidden gem that impressed me in every way. This restaurant offers delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion.A friend and I attended a baptismal party here. As soon as we arrived, we were directed to a private room where we enjoyed the celebration in the company of family and friends. After all the guests had arrived, we were served immediately with a wide array of authentic Chinese food. We started with a bowl of egg soup then feasted on shrimp, beef, tofu, beans, eggplant, and a lot more. Food was really good! The staff at Canaan was friendly, attentive, and made sure our dining experience was top-notch."

A friend recommended this restaurant. When we arrived we were seated promptly in a nice outside area. They brought a complimentary order of Brussels sprouts that was amazing and my favorite thing on the menu. We tried 4 different entrees and they were all excellent .

After trying numerous Omakase restaurants in the area, San Shi Go has remained my tried and true. They serve solidly consistent and fresh sushi, offer great omakase sushi options and honestly it's just fun, easy and relaxed... nothing set or pretentious and I love that. Omakase is exactly what it is but I love being able to request what you want as well. Always look forward to the flavored agedashi tofu they offer in the beginning. The service is overtly polite and the sushi chefs are tons of fun. Makoto and Yoshi are our guys!

Holy sh** you guys. Writing this after literally only taking two bites. I'm blown away, the flavor is like sooo clean and fresh and vibrant and I think this just became my new Sunday spot. After the poke boom 10 years ago, it has been freakin hard to find a good bowl that wasn't stinky or frozen. I'm literally in awe. Don't ever change poke district. It did hurt at first paying $18 for a half/half bowl when I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I added avocado and got the lava sauce (top tier, just enough kick)But honestly, I'm obsessed and it's SO WORTH IT. Even the cucumbers were freakin delicious, I wish I got more! Currently contemplating taking home a fish only bowl to make the experience last longer. Freakin great job guys

Dined in for lunch on 2/2/25 at 12:00 pm. Not a lot of people were there.Right now they are giving out coins to use in the claw machine to win free crab, shrimp, potatoes and more! We didn't win anything sadly.I ordered the 1 lb of shrimp deveined with the Grab-A-Crab House sauce mild, sweet potato fries and the garlic noodles.Shrimp was great and not overcooked. I liked how we could get it without the head for $2 more. Also, it is nice they showed us the price instead of market price like the competitors. The only issue was the sauce was just a bit too salty, but other than that it was delicious.Sweet potato fries were bomb! I just wished we got more fries. Garlic noodles were delicious as well! No complaints.Overall, it was a great experience! Definitely, will be back!

Because of the high ratings here, I had high expectations, but unfortunately they weren't met. The food was not impressive at all, very generic taste...then considering the prices, it was was a disappointing experience. Table BREAD AND BUTTER: fantastic!! I was highly impressed; the bread was perfectly baked and complimented with delicious butter!MEATBALLS: they tasted very generic; just ground beef, not enough seasoning or flavor to reorder, especially when priced at $18.FRENCH ONION SOUP: I enjoyed it more than I expected to but wouldn't order it again. Chicken Parmigiana: It was fine. The Alfredo pasta was the highlight of the entire. I enjoyed the rich flavor of the sauce. However, the chicken had a dry texture. Tbh, the one at Olive Garden is better.Sad to report that I was disappointed. Although this could've just been my experience because l the place was POPPING for a Wednesday @ 6pm! Seeing many people coming and going I felt gaslit, maybe the food wasn't as mediocre as I thought it was- even though my partner agreed with my opinion??? Nonetheless, the ambiance was cute and our server was great!

Absolutely loved every dish here! They are pretty crowded on the weekends but we were able to snag a table here pretty quickly right before 6 PM on a Saturday evening.Every dish comes out piping hot! And once you order, it will come out pretty quick. It's the perfect place for a delicious family style meal. The eggrolls are super crispy, the shrimp is very sweet, and the snails are perfectly cooked! The clams are my favorite here!

Il Farro is hands down the best place to get pizza after a night out! Whether I'm sober or drunk, their pizza never disappoints. It's always a must-visit when I'm down by the pier. The flavors are fantastic, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Highly recommend!

This is one of those little private hidden places that if you don't know it's there you'll miss it. They have a variety of small dishes that are tastie. The service is FIRST CLASS whether you're eating at the bar, table or back room that has a full on bar.Avery J was our server & he greeted us, sat us@ a table, helped us with the menu & checked on us regularly.Great vibes in the restaurant, we felt very comfortable. The parking can be a challenge but definitely worth it. We had mixed veggies, lamb chops, chicken potstickers &a shrimp noodle dish. I had a HOT grandson tea which kept me nice & warm. I'd define come back to try more items on the menu :)

"Great ambiance- shrimp ceviche is excellent Lime margaritas were a little too sweet for all 3 in our party Server was very nice."
"I liked it. My fam came here last Christmas and it was half empty. We enjoyed it and decided to come back this year. I guess word got out because this year it was packed. Inside is bright, spacious, and modern. Lots of TVs on the walls to watch a game. They also have a large patio area with nice views of the hills and golf course. It's a good place for groups. They easily accommodated our group of 14. The food is good. For appetizers we got the firecracker shrimp, calamari, and spicy ahi tuna tacos. Those were all a hit, even with the kids. For mains our group got a bit of everything and everybody liked it. I can definitely recommend the New York steak and the lamb rack. The little sauces they come with were great. The steak side dishes are just ok though. The rice pilaf was a bit dry. Minor complaint but yo where was my maraschino cherry in my old fashioned? lolService was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the front lot."
"LOVED LOVED LOVED Brayan & Beto!!!! Service was amazing, food was fantastic!!!! Had a long day & was indecisive, most restaurants when I ask what do you recommend seem bothered by the question but Brayan immediately suggested with confidence. All things he suggested were A+!"
"Food and drinks are very good here. Staff is always very friendly. Really good whiskey list and cocktails, if you like it. One of my favorite places in Dana Point"
"Loved it here. Our server (Ryan) was great and had some very good suggestions on the menu. Will definitely be coming back here for some more happy hour options and to explore the menu more."
"Food was delicious! We started with the heart antichuos which you have to eat right away, and was so good with the potato and corn. And, the calamar Frito, which was so good with the refreshing salad/salsa. Washed it all down with pisco sours, yum!The lomo saltado was very good, with tender meat, covered in flavorful sauce and plenty of fries and onions. The green sauce was spicier than most places. They ran out of bread. Staff was friendly, Def would come back!"
"O boy am I obsessed with O Sea!! The employees are truly the most friendly and welcoming people! Sarah, the manager was so sweet and checked in on us during our meal. Fillie (may have spelled that wrong), was our server and he was so great, gave yummy suggestions and made sure everything went well throughout our time dining in! Food was very fresh and came out quickly! I want to try everything on the menu! Very open and bright space with plenty of indoor seating. Has a modern coastal vibe. Street parking around the Orange Circle, can get busy on the weekends. Can't wait to come back!"
"First visit, and we were with a group of 15. Wonderful ambiance, and very nice views of the bay, boats, and waterfront homes from inside, as well as the covered patio. They offer free valet parking (tips appreciated). We were there to take advantage of their Brunch menu.SERVICE: Larry waited on us, and the service was excellent, including all of the staff who assisted him. He was kind enough to provide separate checks for our group, and they didn't add a mandatory tip, as many restaurants do with larger parties. I suggest asking about this upfront, so there's no miscommunications.DRINKS: The brunch menu offers two options for bottomless mimosas: the Wycliff Sparkling Brut ($15), and the Le Chemin du Roi Brut ($30), along with orange, cranberry, and grapefruit juice mixers. The sparkling wines were tasty, as our party ordered both, and I was able to sample each. I, on the other hand, had a The Spicy Southern Bloody Mary ($16), which was loaded with bacon, olives, and a giant celery stalk. I also tried the Olé Fashioned with mezcal ($17). I thought that both cocktails were well made.FOOD: For a group of our size, all of the orders came out quick, hot, and the portions were plenty. My wife and I thought that the food was okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing "wowed" us either. Could have used a little more seasoning all the way around. We tried the Bayside Continental ($24), which included a stack of three, very fluffy pancakes, two eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. The Bayside Benedicts have an option of smoked ham ($26), crab $29), or sautéed spinach ($24). The crab was in need of a little more seasoning. Finally, I had the Meat Lovers Omelette ($25), with bacon, Italian sausage, onion, mushroom, gruyere cheese, and a side of breakfast potatoes. A little salt and pepper, and this was good to go. I heard that the Chicken Barley Soup ($13) was very good, and the Lobster Salad Sandwich ($34) served open face, was okay.Overall, a nice brunch experience, and great service. I would definitely come back and give Bayside another try, maybe for dinner next time."
"I'm a local from a neighboring city. Came here years ago and forgot why I never came again. Made the mistake and then remembered. This must be some tourist trap restaurant because I don't understand why anyone would come here with the various better options around. Food is overpriced, venue needs major renovation and staff needs to be replaced. I asked for items several times and it was brought to me in the most inefficient way, and in the wrong quantity asked for. Server attitude was off too. Really basic request gone wrong. I could go on about several additional things but not worth the time. I just want to do other customers a favor to save their money and time and go elsewhere. Not sure what's going on lately, but there's still businesses that think they don't need to provide good service. Or owners that don't provide oversight because it's just money they clearly don't need ? I encourage everyone to be more discerning and support the smaller businesses that take more pride in their work and show us they need the business. This is the only behavior that will change quality. *funny I just read the other reviews and it's either 1 star or 5. I'll tell you that if you're not used to exceptional service and ok with run down dives because you enjoy loud music and loud clientele, this mediocre place will probably suit you LOL different strokes for different folks."
"As a seafood lover I'm so happy I finally tried this place! We ordered the Poke Nachos and I had a bacon Michelada and a shrimp chimichurri burrito. My husband ordered a carne asada burrito. The burritos were huge and were really good. Such a good value for the price! We shared the poke nachos and they were delicious ! I love the variety of the menu here! There is something for everyone. My bacon Michelada was SO TASTY! Inside it's not super fancy but it has a unique set up and gives off almost a beachy chill vibe in a way. This would be a great place to grab a little bite to eat and hang out at after with drinks. The service here was really good. All the employees were friendly and inviting. We were a huge fan of Seasurf and are already talking about coming back."
"I came in on Saturday with a couple of friends & we had an amazing time! The food was sooo good, I got the peeled shrimp with potatoes, sausage & corn & we split an appetizer of mozzarella sticks! Yummy! Our server was Eric & he was phenomenal! So attentive, sweet & had such a good sense of humor! Probably the best customer service I've received in a long time, it was very refreshing! We definitely will be back!!! :)"
"I wasn't impressed by service nor the restaurant. I found the restaurant to incredibly loud and the waiter to be impatient and abrupt. On a busy night we were in and out in les than an hour. I would have liked to enjoy my nice evening out by way of a more lingering experience, but our waiter had no time for that. My friend ordered the pot pie which she enjoyed. The presentation was impressive with the oversized pastry billowing over the dish. I ordered the chicken picatta. It was okay but not anything special. The mixed vegetables were steamed, which I always find uninteresting and not flavorful. I would expect steamed vegetables at a lower class restaurant. On the flip side, if you're looking for a hip, vibing place to hang, then their bar looked like it would fill that need greatly. Parking is mostly Valet, which takes some patients too at their busy times."
"Awesome happy hour. Cozy lounge vibe. Filet mignon sliders were DELISH. Can't wait to go back."
"Best bbq in town catering is great too. I bought it for my husband's birthday it's pricey but worth it he loves the greens from there every thing is tasty"
"Lunch specials are just the right amount to not have extra leftovers. Dine in includes a side of soup and steamed rice. Not available for takeout orders.I wanted lobster Yee mein but the tank was empty when I arrived.Got a few items that are uncommon for our family but completely delicious:Scrambled egg with shrimp - I love this simple combo and how the egg comes out soft scramble with very tender peeled shrimp.Seafood and tofu in clay pot has a bottom layer of clear noodles and vegetables (mostly Napa cabbage) - the tofu soaks up all the flavor and is equally delicious. Shrimp, squid and scallop in the mix.Our server suggested the milk tea with boba - I try to not consume too much of this type of drinks because they can be sugar bombs, their version is not overly sweet. We tend to order a lot of food because of dietary reasons. So I requested to be moved to a larger table. The staff was very accommodating, cleaning up the previously used table and moving us immediately. I am always impressed by how quickly delicious food comes out from what seems to be a smallish kitchen.Lunch specials are billed as served only till 250 pm, probably to avoid the 3 pm lunch stragglers. Check the front door for the hours, one weekday (Tuesday?) they are closed for an hour or two right after lunch service."
"TIP: $11.95 Lunch Specials served Mon - Fri from 11am - 3pm.First visit to this restaurant. We were immediately seated, but it took a little bit of time for someone to come back and take our lunch order. The décor is casual, and it was clean. Parking can be tough, as this shopping center is very busy.FOOD & DRINKS: My wife and I both ordered a Thai Iced Tea ($4) and I thought this was one of the better ones I've had recently. Not too sweet, and the price was lower than many. Off the Starter section of the menu, we ordered the Crunchy Vegetable Rolls ($11.95) and of course they came out about 30 seconds before the rest of our lunch was brought to the table. This seems to be a common issue in many Asian restaurants, appetizers and starters are brought out along with the rest of the meal, sometimes after many of the entrées are brought to the table, and this is very frustrating to me. For entrées, we ordered the BBQ Chicken & Fried Rice ($11.95) and the BBQ Ribs & Fried Rice ($11.95). Both meals were okay, not bad but nothing special either.NOTE: The menu cover states, "Automatic 18% gratuity will be added to all parties of seven (7) or more"Overall, we thought it was okay, but I will say that some of the regular menu items, especially the noodle dishes looked very good, so I would give this place another try."
"I go to 230 quite a bit one of my favorite restaurants. This one has a very similar menu and taste the same. I've had nothing but a good experience coming here, I did just get told that Mark is no longer The owner. Hope the new owner does not change the recipes, and only adds if you knew good items."
"Hidden away on a quiet street, The Dock captures your attention right away as it is the only restaurant that is bright enough to be noticed. Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the host and a wall full of wine. The host takes you to the back where the salty air and smell of wine permeates the room. For those of you who like to be surrounded by the wading boats and laughter in the room, this is the place where you can forget your arguments and be truly present. Come and order a drink for the occasion. I got Endless Summer and truly, it was the last drink before the season changes again. As an appetizer, I got the octopus, a small dish where you'll still have room for more food. As the main entrees, I got the fish of the day and of course, the lamb. If you ever had lamb anywhere else, well, those restaurants cannot compare to this one at The Dock. The lamb was cooked nicely and without the gamey taste, which is my preference. I would go back here again for the location, good, and ambiance."
"The Hangout HB is bigger than the one inSeal Beach but it's not quite as good. Some dishes are equal---sliders and sides, but mostly the flavor is gone on others. We ate burgers last night (a hangout favorite) and it tasted like three day old meatloaf. It had so many fillers it didn't even taste like beef. Last time we came it was for their signature omlets....Breakfast left us with that "Denny's" taste in our mouth. And it cost waaay too much. Still healthy portions but I think we are over being overstuffed restaurants. Get back to real food quality, especially with the new Inflated prices.I've been eating at this location in HB for about seven months. Maybe it's the trend of prices and cut-backs but going for dinner isn't worth the high price now. $65+ no appetizers and two beers. For meatloaf tasting burgers? I'd rather eat at In-and-Out. Sorry Hangout, still love your ibe, service, appetizers and beer but meals are just too iffy to pay that much."
"Recently decided to visit 21 oceanfront, the place is extremely ambience, wonderful for a date night, the service was exceptional, I enjoyed an Asian pear salad, that they modified for me to make it vegan, it was delightful, my main entrée was the grilled cauliflower steak, which was exceptional, enjoyed a side of mushrooms & roasted asparagus both delicious , definitely will visit again"
"A steak that cuts like butter and terrific cocktails and service. First time and won't be the last!"
"Our Thai spot when I visit the in-laws. It's owned by the same company as "Sushi on Fire" and while we've been here several times we've never tried either of their sushi locations.Duck Noodle: Noodles with roasted duck (Skin on), bean sprouts, green onion, cilantro, and garlic sauce. My favorite, very nice soy sauce based broth, overall noodle soup tasted clean and not heavy.Potak: (Hot & sour seafood soup) Thai spicy soup with seafood in a spicy broth of lemongrass (Shrimp, fish, calamari, and mussel). Delicious and a good option for seafood lovers, my wife uses their version as the bar for tiwhr places. Pad Thai: pan-fried noodles with egg, bean sprouts, cooked in sweet and tangy sauce garnished with crushed peanuts. Noodle were perfectly cooked and not falling apart, consistent for takeout or in-person dining.Shrimp Blanket: Marinated shrimp rolls with wonton skin served with sweet and sour sauce. Nice and crunchy, tasted great with the sweet and sour sauce."
"I want to start with the service, while everything was, literally perfection, the service stands out on another level. Fun, friendly, quick and on top of it. These professionals were top notch. Frank and Steven went above and beyond making our Birthday celebration and dining experience absolutely lovely. Frank was truly a gem. The food speaks for itself, have I mentioned perfection, yet? The restaurant is beautiful with a nice bar, too. I apologize for lack of photos!"
