"I feel like tamale season is basically upon us, so I stopped by to try this place out. I gotta say I was pleased with their cheese and chicken tamales. I also had their carnitas plate which was pretty good, but I feel like they specialize more in their tamales. The service itself was great, and it was such a cute little establishment to enjoy a meal in."
"Oh my goodness. This is the only places where I could eat the beans because I don't really like beans. The portion was great and the food was really good! Probably one of the best Mexican restaurant I've had. However, the wait was soooo long. We had to flagged down our servers so many times and our food took about 30-40 minutes to come out even though there were only 3 tables at the time."

"It is a very cute and trendy restaurant. It is the perfect spot for work meeting or just getting together with friends. It is a nice spot for your first date, anniversary and wedding. Their drinks are strong. I like the whiskey and you can have it smoke. Their bartender is nice and I like to sit closer to the bar. The food portions are huge their clam chowder is a must try. I also like their steak the lobster. The strawberry salads is fruity and delicious. Don't forget to try their house made dessert. Parking is free in the parking structure. I highly recommended this spot for a night out."
"I love Cha Cha's! We come here every so often and I pretty much always get the same thing - short ribs. They are so tender and flavorful. They have a bit of a kick to them. It's a good portion size too. Highly recommend.Another dish I really like is the three seafood enchiladas. I think it comes with crab, shrimp and one other thing (can't remember off the top of my head!). It's so good that I tried to recreate it at home but couldn't live up to Cha Cha's version. They have nice cocktails here too and a variety of seating options. There's indoor, patio and bar seating and they have heat lamps for when it's cold. It's a great mid- to nice-level Mexican/Latin restaurant and it's one of our regular rotations!"
"Hidden rooftop gem in HB! The food is always delicious and we love how dog friendly the restaurant and hotel are! Our favorite brunch dishes were the Chilaquiles (decent spice level) and the Breakfast Burrito (looks boring in pics but was filled with deliciousness)! They also validate parking for two hours."
"Carniceria Y Taqueria Tierra Bella is a hidden gem located in the back of a small Mexican grocery store. My coworkers and I came here for tacos and we were pleasantly surprised that the grocery store had 5 little tables in the back. This spot has plenty of things to order. Tacos, Burritos, Tortas, Sopes, Quesadillas and more. My coworkers and I all ordered Tacos.Prices per Taco: - $1.25: asada, al pastor, pollo, chorizo, chicharron, carnitas, birria- $1.55: guisado, cabeza, lengua- $2.25: tripa, ranchera I had 3 tacos: carnitas, al pastor and lengua. I liked the carnitas the most and I was most disappointed in the lengua. My coworkers tried a variety of tacos and I heard the asada and the pollo is pretty good too. Not the best tacos in the word, but for these prices, they are great. Ask for their special sauces. They keep the condiments in the fridge and there a yummy avocado sauce and a spicy sauce. We would definitely come back here for a quick and affordable meal!"
"Pollo Inka has been a family favorite for dinner for the longest time. My family loves Peruvian food and Pollo inka Express has been an amazing and fast spot to go pick up some delicious Peruvian delights. The way their chicken is marinated and cooked is mouth watering. Your Costco rotisserie chicken has nothing on Pollo Inkas! It pairs perfectly with their Aji green salsa which is a thick, green, delicious garlic based sauce. All of their sides are so delicious, we always get yucca frita, plantains, rice and beans. Not to mention their delicious green cilantro soup!!? Wash this all down with an Inca Kola --food coma, off to heaven shortly after. To me, Inca Kola tastes like bubblegum. I recommend trying it at least once. It's the 2 liter of bright yellow soda and you can find it here or at any latino supermarket. If you like sweets, you have to try their alfajores (little Peruvian caramel cookies) They're so soft and the best I've ever tried. I recently bought my mom some from this expensive place and they were so tiny and not as good as Pollo inkas!!!! Don't skip on these. Trust me. We will never stop craving Pollo inka and I will always highly recommend this location to anyone that's hungry and wants to try something different, with a short wait time and amazing service. Did I mention they have a drive thru??? This place is simply awesome!"
"Celebrated Valentine's Day the day after with the bf to avoid all the crowd and busyness of a Friday night Valentine's Day.Isla Cuba-Latin Kitchen & Run Bar is located in a small plaza with neighboring cafe and other restaurants. It seems to be centrally located within an industrial business are, trust your navigation! The restaurant is a wide open spaced with a tent outside if you wanted to dine outside but not totally in the elements. The vibes were fantastic, chandeliers hanging provided intimate mood lighting. Dark wood across the seating area, to the bar, and a large picture taking up a good portion of the wall in the back center. We arrived right at opening (4pm Sat), and there was only one other couple dining at the time. It definitely gets busier as time goes in so reservations are the way to go. Staff and waiter were very friendly, it was our first time so asked the waiter for recommendations on the starters. We went with the Papas Rellenas, which are similar to Portos potato balls, but I loved how Isla made them. Perfectly fried potato mash forming a thin crust. It was stuffed with deliciously seasoned ground beef, the perfect bite. The cilantro cream dipping sauce only added more flavor to this great starter. For the main entrees we went with the Lechon Asado (pork) and Rabo Encendido (oxtail). The Lechon while initially we didn't think had enough flavor, actually did the more you chewed the pork was marinated well and released more flavor (if that makes sense. It was also topped with a lot of grilled onions and rice. The Rabo Encendido was delicious. The oxtails were so tender and fall off the bone. The savory sauce it was stewed in was amazingly tomato-y. The rice for both dishes were nice and fluffy almost buttery. Both meals also came with caramelized plantains, sweet and minor crunchy from how they were cooked. They also start you off with complementary plantain chips with a garlic dipping sauce. The only minor thing was that as it seemed to get busier, the staff really didn't check up on us but again it wasn't an issue. I think I would've liked our waters refilled more instead of the once near the end of the meal, but that is also on us to get a waiters attention.Overall a great place for Cuban-Latin quisine."
"WOW, WOW, WOW! Our first experience but won't be our last. I received an email from Mandala that they were extending their dineLA menu/offer through the final weekend, so we decided to give it a try. Décor and ambiance are casual to upscale cool. Parking is on street, however there's a small lot across the street at the US Bank building, that we used in the evening, after the bank closed.SERVICE: Mauricio waited on us, and the service couldn't have been better. The entire wait staff worked as a team and made us feel like we were the only ones there. The kitchen staff even checked on us to see how we were enjoying the food. Meal courses were timed out perfectly.FOOD: We started with a shared dish of their Esquite (Mexican Street Corn) with corn milk, basil, and a Cascabel salsa ($14), creamy and delicious. The dineLA menu offered four courses with a selection of two items for each course, so we tried and shared all eight items. The food was absolutely amazing, fantastic flavors and beautiful presentations. The dineLA portions were so large, they could have easily been shared by two average appetite eaters. In addition, my mother-in-law ordered two of the Anticuchos (Yakitori) skewers, a Beef Tongue ($12) with sesame sauce, and a Chicken Adobo ($12). Again, the flavors were sensational.TIP: Ask one of the staff about their speakeasy, Kuduowl, located upstairs with access from the restaurant through a secret doorway...very fun.We were so impressed with Mandala Bar that we can't wait for our next adventure. I highly recommend."
"Fantastic brunch spot with delicious food, great drinks, and affordable options! If you're also looking for a place with aesthetic good and good portions this is also the place to go! I definitely recommend. I got the classic egg benny and it was so good and filling! Plus the potatoes on the side were the best I have ever had. Flavored so well and perfectly cook (not dry or mushy). I also got the horchata latte which was good and only $5 for a large bottle. The only lackluster thing was the dutch baby. It's very pretty looking and freshly made (takes 25 mins to make from ordering) but tasted kind of flavorless. The inside is kind of small, but definitely still a vibe. I would definitely come back here to get more drinks and try other items!Note: parking lot is kind of small, but you can park on the main street for free."
"Restaurant is filled with beautiful art on the inside, but you can't beat the view outside. The staff is super accommodating with customizations and getting things out quickly or adjusting your seat if the sun changes. The food is fabulous - amazing tacos, tasty salsas, creamy guac, crunchy chips, and yummy margs."

I've been going here for a bit. And noticed I never gave it a review. Implausible! So this place is ran by a husband and wife team. Their food is clean and phenomenally delicious! Tamales are full of meat when they have them. And the carnitas is cooked to perfection. No fatty parts on the plate. The asada is great as well but they don't have a steak it's chopped already. I prefer a piece of meat. But again no biggie. The rice and beans is classically perfect. And the corn tortillas are fresh and everything is packed just right. Have to try their pozole. Eat in or take out. Both are great. The restaurant isSuper clean including the restroom. And the dynamic duo are always happy to see you. 5+ stars! Oh and pricing is very fair for the level of food. Check them out.

Best taquitos we've ever had, and their house Margaritas are delicious! This restaurant is located right next door to the Grove theater. It has a huge bar, beautiful ambiance, and the service was great! It's also walking distance from Angel Stadium.

As much as I (thoroughly) enjoyed checking out so many Asian restaurants in, and around, Irvine, I have to admit that it got to the point where my taste buds started to crave flavors of the non-Asian variety. Nothing against the noodle soups, dumplings, and rice plates that I love, among other things, but even I have my limits before the likes of burgers, tacos, and kebabs sound a whole lot more appealing. So, after perusing Yelp to see what other great places Irvine has to offer, one place immediately shot to the top of the list - Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen!Between their many Yelp reviews, the majority of which are overwhelmingly positive, and the delicious looking photos of their food, I couldn't help but feel equally excited and hopeful for our meal here. Inside, the restaurant has a chill yet lively vibe and I like how they even project movies onto the back wall. More importantly, the menu looked great! Along with their selection of margaritas, cocktails, and ridiculously extensive collection of tequilas (DOZENS!), their food options are just as intriguing. Most of it is made up of shareable appetizers, as well as an assortment of tacos, enchiladas, salads, and house/signature entrees. They also have a daily happy hour, lunch specials, daily specials, and even a champagne brunch, so something to keep in mind depending what day/time you're here.-- CHIPS & SALSA...$FREE.99Not going to lie - this might been the highlight of the meal, if only because it was bottomless and free! The chips have the perfect thickness, all three salsas were delicious (the medium spicy one was my favorite), and, best of all, it was both bottomless and free! Hard to argue with that.-- CHA CHA'S MARGARITA with Siete Leguas 100% Blue Agave, Fresh Lime, Elderflower Liqueur, Agave Nectar, and Grapefruit Juice...$15Not super unique, but pretty decent overall. This had a nice hit of blue agave to it and I really liked how the elderflower wasn't overpowering, like it has in other cocktails I've had. The slight tartness from the grapefruit added a nice finish, too.-- FRESH PINEAPPLE - Gran Centenario 100% Blue Agave, Elderflower Liqueur, Pineapple Cilantro, Agave Nectar...$13Not surprisingly, given their near identical makeup, this tasted similar to the Cha Cha's Margarita...but better! The whipped cream and pineapple made this comparatively sweeter, but I like how they gave this a more tropical flavor.-- CRISPY SHRIMP & CALAMARI with Calabasitas, Serrano Chili, and Lime-Cilantro Aioli...$17Based purely on taste, this wasn't bad. The calamari and shrimp were fresh and the batter was thin yet crispy. That being said, the portion size of the two felt light, as a decent portion of the plate was made up of fried chilis, onions, and even some lemon slices.-- SHORT RIB CAPAS - Guajillo Braised Short Rib, Layered Corn Tortillas, Epazote Black Beans, Goat Cheese, Fresh Radish...$25I was pretty excited to try this, but it was just okay. There was a fair amount of short rib, which was tender, and I thought the sauce on this was flavorful. That said, the sauce was the predominant flavor and the tortillas were a little mealy.-- TACO TRIO PLATE...$18**FRESH FISH - Flat Grilled, Spice Mix, Tomatillo Salsa, Chipotle Cabbage**SHRIMP - Garlic, Chile, Jalapeno Crema, Cabbage, Cotija Cheese**STEAK MOJO - Guajillo Salsa, Pickled Onion, CilantroWe were hopeful for this one and, thankfully, it didn't disappoint. Of the bunch, I liked the steak one the most - juicy and seasoned well. The fish taco wasn't far behind (the piece felt a bit small), but the shrimp wasn't remarkable. As for the sides, the Black Beans were fine (kind of watery), but the rice was really hard. While our dishes and cocktails were fairly decent, service, on the other hand, was rather uneven. On the plus side, our server was really on top of things, as he came by often to refill our waters and was super efficient overall. Yet, on the other, he might've been too efficient, as at times, it felt like we were being rushed. What's more, it felt like he was constantly trying to upsell us - nudging us to get another round, order guacamole, get dessert, etc. By no means was he rude, but it got repetitive to keep getting asked "are you sure?" after every question/suggestion.Even with all of that in mind, despite how nothing in particular blew us away, I actually thought the food here wasn't too shabby. It's just that, for the money, it felt like what we got fell short of what I would've expected, especially with the portion size of our appetizer. At the very least, I can still see why folks like this place (including a few of my friends) and we might have felt differently had we been here for one of their deals. If nothing else, I wouldn't be opposed to coming back for their drinks and the chips and salsa!

They have a hidden restaurant inside!!!! I was craving tacos and thought of this place since I remember seeing a sign about them opening a new taqueria inside the store. It's hidden in the back and it's not that big. They have a few tables and most people were taking orders to go but my BF and I dined in. We ordered a couple of tacos each ($1) and shared a Carne Asada quesadilla ($5). You can choose what ever meat you want in the quesadilla and it was big enough to share. They also had agua de tamarindo which was really good. I have to say I was really impressed with the tacos, especially the chicharon tacos OMG they were so good!!! It tasted very authentic just like my moms cooking. The Carne Asada was also very flavorful and the al pastor was decent. But OMG that chicharon taco was incredible!!! I will definitely be back for that taco!! I don't think I have ever had a chicharon taco that has blown me away like this one ever.

Mum wanted to take us to show us this place because she had a nice experience when she had gone before, so we were up for it.First off the place is really nice inside and I enjoyed the aesthetic but would say that was the best part of the entire experience. The food is on the pricier side so expect to spend about 20-30 bucks a head. The service was alright. There was just about no one else eating at the time we ate. For some reason it took a long time to get our bill once we were done, even after we got our to go boxes. Our initial server disappeared towards the end so we had to flag, what I assume is a lead or manager to get our bill. The food was alright, nothing crazy. The presentation of the food was nice. We got the sampler platter which was good but was $50 and quite overpriced. I mean if you want to compare it to Porto's, which you get the same quality for a lot less. You are essentially just paying more here but for a shorter wait time. The Mofongo was forgettable. I enjoyed the Mofongo at Señor Big Ed more than the double price of this one.All in all my experience was forgettable and would pass on coming back. Like I said the look of the restaurant was nice and it was the only good thing I enjoyed. I'm sure other people will enjoy the food more, but feel I can get similar things and enjoy it more than I did here.

"We like to find hidden gems on Yelp and boy did we find one! This place is located on a busy street. There's street parking out front and a lot in the back. The actual restaurant is pretty small. Pretty much a hole in the wall kind of place. And aren't those the best though?! You walk in and have a seat. The owner will come take your order at your table. The menus are on each table and on a large overhead sign. We ordered the quesadilla and the chile relleno plates. Everything is served on disposable plates, but we don't mind that. Everything in the menu includes rice, pinto beans and a garnish of lettuce with tomatoes. That garnish is usually a staple at Mexican restaurants though. The Chile relleno was good. I generally don't order chile rellenos at restaurants (because that's something I prefer to be homemade) but I saw someone else having it and it looked appealing. It was a treat for the eyes and tummy! The star of the show was really the homemade tortillas de maíz. They were light, fluffy and yet crunchy. I don't like homemade tortillas that are so thick you can "sopiar" with them. Meaning you can't use them to scoop up your food. The owner is a sweet man who is very proud of his restaurant. He explained that he doesn't have hamburgers or chicken nuggets because he wanted it to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. He loves that he has regulars, but also gets tourists since he's so close to Disneyland. It's only about a mile away. He showed his excitement for being a part of food delivery services such as Grubhub. All in all we had a nice experience. The food was delicious, service was good and prices are reasonable. I will be back and hopefully become a regular!"
"Top notch service and surroundings, from the complimentary valet parking to the hotel's interior common area décor, to the staff/service at Raya. Hue waited on us; however, we did interact with several staff members and the service was excellent from all. We stopped in on a Friday evening for some late-night cocktails and a snack before heading home and the bar was still hopping. We were presented with a beautiful tray of complimentary snacks (almonds, wasabi nuts, and mixed nuts) while we enjoyed a Frida y Diego Anejo Old Fashioned ($22) and a Tamarind Margarita ($22). Wanting a little more, we ordered a 5-piece Shrimp Cocktail ($21) and two more drinks, a Ritzy Smoked Old Fashioned ($28) and a Baja Coast Cosmo ($22). All drinks were very well made, and the shrimp were perfect.Yes, it's a little pricy, but the service and quality of the food and beverages are definitely worth splurging once in a while. We had a wonderful "date night" experience and will definitely stop in again."
"Came here for the pupusas, and there is definitely a lot to pick from! The cheese is key, and it was on point! I had an Asada pupusa which is different than your usual add ons but it was great! They had international pupusas, so different add ins in the pupusa from that particular country which is a great idea! We'll definitely be coming back to try their full on breakfast plate. Great customer service as well."
"Every thing was great 100 % coming back The service was amazing The food also was great I thought chef Ramsay was here that good"
"I ordered the jamon torta ($10.99) for my family and pierna burrito ($10.99) for myself. The food portions here come just right, and I'd say that it's worth trying once for the great taste. The pierna burrito had juicy, soft, and slightly spicy shredded pork. Their green salsa had a medium spice level and went well with the burrito. Ordering here is easy, and the cashier helped explain what pierna is. There is no seating inside, but there are some tables outside. The restaurant is small, so there's a chance of missing the driveway to reach its parking lot."
"Beautiful beautiful restaurant !! You can literally see the ocean from here. Came here for brunch with some girlfriends for my birthday LAST YEAR. I know, I know. It took me long enough to write this review. The food was okay. Nothing stood out to be honest. But I'm not huge on brunch so there's that. Service was slow. We kept having to remind our server for the basics: utensils, water, Etc. By the time we finally got everything we needed, our food was already cold because we were outdoors. the true star of the show is the view. Whether seated indoors with panoramic windows or on the breezy outdoor terrace, you're treated to uninterrupted vistas of the glistening ocean stretching to the horizon. I'll be back for drinks if I'm in the area because it's conveniently located at the hotel I typically stay at, but it's a hard pass on the food."
"Couldn't get enough of this restaurant that our family returned on Christmas day for lunch. We made a reservation and even though the policy is to have everybody present they let us in with two party members on the way, which was nice. The front desk was very kind and accommodate our needs promptly. Our server also had a superb service serving us the whole time. She was present throughout the meal and never had our drinks empty. Usually, due to music, the restaurant is pretty loud but this day, it was very quiet with soft music on the background so we were able to have a conversation among ourselves. The ambiance is always chic but with the Christmas decoration, it elevated the Christmas spirit. It was less dishes than we ordered last time but pretty much it was the same thing we ordered again because it was unforgettable. The only two different things we ordered were the lemonades and fish tacos and it was phenomenal. Each dish has amazing flavors and beautiful presentations that I recommend to everybody.Thank you for giving us a wonderful Christmas memory to me and my family!"
"Located inside LAB anti-mall, there's plenty of parking in the back. Recommend getting reservations as this palce can get busy, especially on weekends. Weekdays aren't as crowded. I've been here for happy hour and regular dinner time on weekdays. Their happy hour menu was decent but that was years ago so I'm not sure if it's changed. I recently came on a Monday night for dinner with my fiancée and we loved it. It's a nice spot for a dinner date, lighting is dim and set the mood for romance lol. They have indoor or patio seating, our host recommended patio seating for better lighting but it was still dark. They do have heat lamps all around so that was nice. Appetizer - chicken empanadas were delicious. Each other comes with 3 empanadas and some slaw and dipping sauce. Entrees - filet mignon with fries, medium rare. Comes with chimichuri sauce. So so soft and tender, cooked to perfection. I finsihed eating my filet mignon before I even ate the fries, it was so delicious. Their fries are also pretty good. Lightly crisp and seasoned. My fiancée ordered the Kobe burger and that was huge portion that also came with fries. He said it tasted great and it was all that he thought it would be. Exceeded expectations. Overall, we had a great date night here and would come back again! Staff was super friendly and just loved the vibes~"
"Oxtail! The Rabo Encendido (Sauteed Oxtail) is sooooo good! Lots of meat, it is tender, and just has a huge amount of flavor. Then you pair this with the chicken rice.... dang.... it just hits. The Pollo Asado is another great item to get. Empanadas were delicious. We tried the beef, chicken, and spinach. I personally love Spinach Empanadas, and this one did not disappoint. Halibut had great flavors, but was overcooked and dry. Scallops needed more garlic and flavors, it was still cold when it was served to us. Service was excellent and kind. For me, going forward... it is the Rabo Encendido (Sauteed Oxtail) dish. I would definitely come back for this item. Thank you Bella Cuba!"
"I've been here a few times, and every time I come here it's a great time. Love the theme of the place. Cool ambiance. The one and only bartender is amazing (sorry I forgot his name) but he's awesome! He makes the best margaritas! I haven't tried the food here yet but they offer a mariachi brunch for a decent price on Sundays. They have live music here often. Definitely recommend."
"Taco prices are ~$7-10, but are justified by the portion sizes (basically 2 tacos in 1). The baja fish taco had 3 pretty big pieces of fish, so one taco alone was enough to have me full. Both the fish and gobernador tacos were flavorful, but the fish was a little salty--I wish there was more sauce to balance it out."
"First time here. Our party of 4 made a reservation for Friday at 7 pm. We were excited to try this restaurant.Started off my dinner with an old fashioned. It was perfect with a tiny bit of spice. If you like flavorful food that is of good quality and attention to detail, you have to try Lola.Service: Amazing Food: Delicious and amazing attention to detail.Location: Park along the street with metered, structure, or neighborhood parking down the residential streets.Loved this place and come hungry!"
"10am Thursday morning and it's super busy that we still had to wait a few minutes but it's well worth waiting for. FYI- There is a $1 per egg surcharge currently. Cute decor from their newly soft opening from their old Tambien location (2 restaurants turned into 1 location now). I order the short rib eggs with waffle bacon on the side. Started with the Waffle which is freshly made with syrup and bacon bits on top (I loved this!). Short ribs marinated so well with sweet potatoes and fried egg on top. I would most definitely order this again since it's such tasty comfort food. Thank you Heather for our wonder service. Bravo on new soft opening. Parking- there's a paid lot next door or the streets is free 2 hour parking. There's plenty of street parking."
"Unique food from Brazil. The staff are all Brazilian and while we were there more Brazilians came to eat. The food was authentic to Brazil. We had good cheesy rolls that were doughy inside with guava jam. I had fish with shrimp sauce, which had a tomato base and really good mashed potatoes.I love having anything unique in town so will definitely come back again."
"Really love this place. There is nothing you can order that won't be amazing. The green pasta and the seafood rice are my personal favorites.Don't skip the green sauce for the bread. It is spicy goodness and just on another level. This place gets very busy on weekday lunches. Occasionally I have to wait a bit to order after being seated. It came be annoying, but it's worth the wait. The staff is super sweet and they work very hard for your business."
"Great great spot! We went here at lunch time and our family needed something quick and delicious and we definitely found the place. Everyone loved their tacos and the lunch special with two tacos and rice/beans was cheap and perfect for what we needed. The food had a lot of flavor and each person loved their order. We had somewhere we had to be and we let the server know and she was on it. The place wasn't busy when we went but we had a bigger party so it was nice that the serve was so attentive. We will for sure be back and we will recommend for anyone visiting!"
