Tips:- Their wait staff isn't the most attentive, so I would work hard on flagging them down.- Waiting can be a PAIN on weekend nights. I highly suggest making a reservation a week in advance, or coming in half an hour early to be the first on the waitlist. I was second, and had to wait an hour and a half just to be seated.- If you plan to come with a large party, expect to have the exact number, because seating indoors is always packed!- Bar seating will get you in much faster, but you can only order off the sushi menu. Still worth it if you don't plan to buy any of the bowls.If you can make it through these hurdles, I'd say the food is very much worth the price. The ramen and chirashi bowls (both premium and non-premium) may seem pricey, but are definitely shareable between two people. The quality of their fish is so fresh that the price justifies it."

"Oak and Coal has been on my list for a while, thanks to TikTok. It was also on my husband's list to try. Finally made it out with my husband and toddler one Monday evening in October, and we were not disappointed! There was no wait, but the steady foot traffic showed we were in for a treat. Here's what we tried: * Chicken Karaage: Perfectly cooked with a crispy, flavorful batter. The hint of lemon zest in the batter was a great touch, so we didn't even need to add extra lemon. * Chashu Bao Buns: Delicious, fluffy bao buns with pork that was tender and flavorful. Everything in it was perfectly balanced. * Kurobuta Sausage Skewer: The sausage was juicy and flavorful. Can't go wrong with it. * Snake River Wagyu Beef Skewer: Cooked to perfection. The flavor was fantastic, and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender. * Seared Hamachi: Good, though we've had slightly better. The grilled asparagus was a nice addition, pairing well with the fish.For drinks, my husband tried a bartender's choice cocktail, which was deliciously refreshing. I went with the lychee spritz--light, refreshing, and not overly sweet.Overall, Oak and Coal was an awesome dining experience, and we can't wait to return and explore more of their full bar in the back (reservations only). Their halibut is so good, it has its own unique flavors added like something zesty, and their yellowtail is so soft and even their albacore (which i find is hard to find thats not to fishy tasting). My favorite is their variety chirashi bowl, halibut sushi, yellowtail and albacore sushi. I got their mixed tempura like 4 times but no more unforunately. We love fried tempura, but the shrimp (which is everyones favorite) is TOO salty! Its always too salty, i wish they made it less salty and then we will order it. Idk why they cant just add less salt?? All 4 times, so i guess its their thing? Notba fancy looking place inside but their quality speaks for itself! Yumm"

The actual size of the piece of sashimi on top of the rice is good sized; some places barely give you a piece and load it up with rice. The fish quality over all was good. The appetizers were amazing. We love a good crispy rice and garlic edamame and YUM! The cucumber salad is also delicious. Again for AYCE sushi this is phenomenal. Some of the staff were friendly/helpful and the restaurant itself needs some help. The bench cushions were split, the ceiling looks like somebody took a chunk out of it, and the bathroom.....oh boy it needs some love. The toilets were leaking so please get that fixed asap!"

One key shoutout is the way staffs cleaning our table, filling the water, changing plates. The dish includes udon noodles, beef, and vegetables in a cream sauce. It was my first time trying this dish after seeing it all over social media this past year, and I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype. The sauce was different; it was thicker than what I'm used to from Asian restaurants while still maintaining a subtle taste of curry. The creaminess of the sauce comes from the use of cooking cream, or alternatively, evaporated milk. So you can imagine how thick the sauce coating the udon noodles was.
