"Tasty Box (different from Tasty Box Dim Sum) are both located at opposite ends of the same plaza. Weird.Tasty Box in Diamond Bar is a solid choice for anyone craving roast duck box lunch. The shop is set up to order, pick up and go. Service is succinct and to the point. :)There's no seating inside but one small table outside for those who cannot wait to dig in. The duck is decent, but don't expect a crispy skin. The ducks are tender, juicy meat that's packed with rich, savory flavor. I think paired with steamed rice and a some cabbage makes the dish full of tastes. The portion size is generous, making it a filling and worthwhile option for lunch. It's $11.I will certainly return. :)"
"The hostess didn't listen to a single word I said. She just denied the table and started talking to another party waiting for a table. Even through she was still adding people to the waitlist even if that courtesy was not available to me. I'm guessing business must be good. They pick and choose their clients. I can think of a few factors they use to make that determination. Thankfully, we are no longer in an era where that matters anymore - I have brought countless people to this restaurant and recommended them heavily. For the food, not the service. But this has clearly crossed the line and frankly, it may be due. The place is run down anyway. With all the new exciting Chinese restaurants open in irvine and even Lake Forrest now; I don't think anyone is missing this place at all. The rundown carpet and disgusting bathrooms can fade away into the annals of history where they belong."

"Sam Woo BBQ and SeafoodThis is a review for my experience for take out at Sam Woo BBQ and Seafood. My family and I are fans of Sam Woo! When we have family celebrations this restaurant is at the top of our list to order from!PARKINGParking can be difficult. They have a small lot, but there are other parking lots nearby. TAKEOUT/ORDERS The Aunties that are at the take out station, are remarkable workers! They are quick thinkers and whatever system they have in place, it works! Be patient! They are great at multi tasking! One minute I see them answering the phone, creating combo plates for the customers, and then they are right onto cutting a whole duck to perfection with a butcher knife. They are very generous with the portions and give iced tea to those who are kind and patient back to them! :)FOODI love all of the rich flavors and every dish I have tasted is delicious! Our go to:1. Peking Duck ***2. Fried Flounder Fish ***3. Chef Special Beef4. Salt and Pepper Pork Chops5. House special fried noodle chow mein-Seafood6. Fried green beans7. Honey walnut shrimp*I also have to compliment them on their sauces. I love their chili oil and the sauce for the fried fish pairs really well with your rice! If you're in the mood for Cantonese food or want to have a yummy meal with your family stop by Sam Woo!"
"I ordered over the phone and the food was ready in 20 minutes. The parking lot was empty so we didn't have issues finding a space. When we entered, our order was ready, the food was packed expertly and the employees were courteous and efficient. The calamari was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The salted fish chicken fried rice was not greasy at all. They also were generous with the serving. The clams in ginger scallion sauce was slightly more expensive but there was so much of it. The half duck was lovely - it is a family favorite. We are eating the food right now and despite how full we are, we are contemplating when we are coming back. We'll probably try their dimsum upon our return. So excited!I'll post photos next time. We were famished when we got home so we forgot to take pictures!"
"Took my parents here for DimSum and we have been going here for many years. They do not disappoint! Their dishes are fresh and flavorful, dim sum is juicy and Peking duck is good (almost half the price of other places nearby, ahem) The only thing is they don't serve alcohol. We like to indulge with beer or wine for brunch on weekends but that's okay, we made up for it with food!Whole order of Peking DuckChinese BroccoliCold CucumberSpicy Jellyfishshiu maiShao long baoHar gow Bean curdChicken fried riceAnd we ordered a bunch of things to take home to eat for dinner hehe. So yummy..."
"We've been to this Hong Kong cuisine many times and this place has the most authentic Hong Kong food. It's perfect to have my hometown comfort food on a rainy day. My friend and I ordered from the lunch special menu. (Lunch Special only $14.99 and they have 6 choices and it's served with a drink, is from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) I ordered the Hot & Spicy Beef Tripe & Tendon Rice Platter and my friend ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice. The lunch specials come with a drink and you can choose green tea, black tea, Thai tea, Grass Jelly drink, chrysanthemum tea, lemon tea, milk tea, coffee, or HK-style coffee and milk tea mix. Both of us picked a Grass Jelly drink. The portions of the food were big. The Hot & Spicy beef tripe & tendon rice platter was flavorful but not too spicy. It had a good amount of beef tripe & tendon. The BBQ Pork fried rice was also delicious and flavorful. They now have a "Enjoy a lovely meal" challenge, when you complete one of the tasks (post a photo or write a review on social media) then you can get a free Pineapple Bun Keychain (Valued at $8.99)! The Pineapple Bun Keychain looks very cute but it's only limited to one per table."
"Awesome place - probably one of top Hong Kong cafes in the area! Highly recommend their roast duck - one of the better places where the meat is juicy and the skin is crispy compared to other places. Other things worth mentioning include Honey Walnut Shrimp, Fried Calamari, etc.Their clay pot rice and cucumber cold dish wasn't as good as other places I've been to - but still reasonable given that all their food are good.Service is good, and the atmosphere is nice as they have a large space. Come early because there can be a long wait!"

We came around 30 minutes after opening and by the time we were finishing our meal it was a full house with people waiting to be seated! I loved the steamed fish fillet with green onion and ginger.

It's been a looooonnggg time since I've been to a Sam Woo's. The now defunct DTLA was my last run, and when I drove by and saw this, I vowed to make a stop someday. I had to make a quick stop at Cuzzo's house which happens to be nearby. I happen to be with another Cuzzo and Mom and Mom mentioned she was kinda hungry. I immediately suggested this place. They both said it's been awhile since their last Sam Woo run, too, so the suggestion was a good idea. Came through mid-afternoon on a Saturday, and being it a Thanksgiving weekend (plus the odd hour) we were surprised it wasn't full. We were seated almost immediately and were given plenty of time to look through their massive menu. We all decided to get our own rice dishes (to share) and a soup. MINCED BEEF WITH RICE VERMICELLI SOUP: My 2nd least favorite dish on the table. I wasn't sure what it was but there was a gamey taste to it which I didn't expect. There was also way too many peas and carrots fillers. Soup was seasoned well, as with the beef but it wasn't impressive enough for it to be a repeat order. ROAST PORK AND TOFU ON RICE: Mom's choice. My least favorite. Sauce was on point. Tofu absorbed a lot of the sauce's flavor. The pork - the supposed center of the dish - was tough and lacked flavor. (Yes! Even with the sauce!) I didn't have more than a bite. I much liked the tofu better. BEEF WITH EGG ON RICE: Cuzzo's pick. My second favorite! Beef was definitely the star of the plate! It was seasoned well and cooked tender. Delish!CHICKEN WITH CURRY SAICE ON RICE: My choice and my ultimate favorite out of everything we ordered. Chicken was cooked tender. The sauce is what does this dish in with the perfect flavor and seasoning - even the onions and potatoes tasted great because of it. This will be a repeat order! FOOD: 4. SERVICE: 3. Our server wasn't readily available and not as friendly. When he was walking by and we asked for water, he rudely told us to wait. But I understand: he was getting pulled from different directions since he was the only one tending to every occupied table. (Restaurant was about 1/3 full.) He took orders, delivered food, ran the checks and everything else in between. There's another who mainly cleaned up and reset tables who also helped taking food to tables. They were clearly understaffed. VALUE: 4.5. The servings here are massive! One plate dish can be shared with another, if not a third, depending on how hungry you are. PARKING: Private lot. OVERALL: 3.75. More than average first run. We saw a few tables order the salt and pepper pork chop (and it looked so good!) so we intend to return and try that - possibly other stuff as well. A second visit is definitely a good possibility.

The food is amazing. They used to be at a different location and reopened here now. Same setup as old times! Service is good for me! No complaints. Complimentary rice when you order food and its reasonably priced. One dish, with rice and tea ($2 per person unless you opt out) under $15! I would come back again. Writing this review makes me hungry again!

This Hong Kong Cafe location can be found in the same large plaza as Starbucks. What makes this location different from the one in Monterey Park, is their dog friendly (covered) seating. My mother, my husband, our little girl dog and I decided to have lunch here last Sunday. We parked and walked over to the restaurant around 12:18 pm. There was plenty of seating available both inside and out. My mom informed one of the servers that we would like to sit outside, in which one server brought out menus for us right away. After looking it over, we ended up ordering:#93 Congee w/ Fresh Chicken, $9.50 prior to tax- Portion size, this is good for 3 people and probably even 4. I thought this was okay. I probably would have ordered a different protein for added flavor but the congee itself was cooked right and wasn't too watery (I prefer my congee to be thick but my mother and husband prefer their congee to be thinner). #17 Shrimp Hargow, $6.50 prior to tax- This came in an order of 4 and tasted pretty standard. #16 Pork Siumai, $6.50 prior to tax- Also in an order of 4, I thought this was also fine. My mom really liked them (but she really likes pork in general). #21 XLB (Juicy Pork Dumpling), $9.99 prior to tax- This came in an order of 8 and was good. But there was no soup inside. #76 Beef Chow Fun w/ Soy Sauce, $12.95 prior to tax- I felt like the portion was smaller than I had expected, but fair to feed 3- 4 people. I thought the flavors were good. #42 Baked Bolognese, $12.95 prior to tax- This was one of a few regular dishes for me to order when I was kid, whenever I would eat at a Chinese cafe with my father. Although incredibly fatty and unhealthy (because of that thick layer of cheese and oil underneath), I still really enjoyed this dish. But this dish was pretty rich. My husband, who has never had this before, really liked it. Hong Kong Milk Tea, Hot, $5.50 each, prior to tax- We ordered 2 of these, one for my husband and one for myself. We both did not like it because the tea was rather bitter. Hong Kong Milk Tea is supposed to taste over steeped but this was steeped for way too long, overpowering and ruining the flavor of the tea.Hong Kong Ice Lemon Tea, Hot, $5.75- My mom ordered this but I didn't ask her if she liked her drink or not. --------------------------------- (Total= $82.28 after tax, prior to tip)My mother really wanted dim sum, which is why she ordered a few items mentioned above. But she also wanted congee. I wanted the baked bolognese and my husband wanted to make an order since my mother and I were both ordering...and so this is why we had so much food at our table (and leftovers to take home). Our drinks were served in (heat safe) paper cups that is convenient for us to take with us. Same with cold drinks, I saw inside that some patrons had their tea drinks in plastic cups. But I am not sure if refills are offered. Service was pretty attentive, even though we were the only party sitting outside. The employees who took care of us were friendly. One employee had even complimented that my little girl is so good and well behaved (lol, if she wasn't, I wouldn't take her to places to eat out or travel with). The woman's restroom was clean during this visit and adequately stocked with the essentials. The woman's restroom is a single toilet that is a pretty large size.Overall, we had a pretty good dining experience and would come back. Please note that even if you do not speak Chinese (as my Chinese is rather poor...), the servers here also speak English so you shouldn't have any language barriers to dine here.

Pricier than most HK/Western-style restaurant but you get great ambience in an tastefully elegant dining room in which to chow down the roast duck (excellent, not greasy), white & brown chicken (super good, definitely a 'happy' chicken when it was alive), and beef brisket lo mein (THE BEST version I've ever had in the SGV.) Beautiful menu, good service, quietly efficient waitstaff. No dim sum or lunch specials here folks, just the best HK-style comfort food in a beautiful restaurant. My compliments to the chef.

This is a mom and pop Cantonese restaurant that I will be coming back to! Came here for breakfast with my family and it was a great meal to start our morning.SERVICE: 4/5We arrived on Sunday early morning and it wasn't crowded. We got seated immediately and ordered on our phone after scanning the QR code located on the table. There was only one server who was working hard so it was understandable. I appreciated how she did her best to give the quickest service!FOOD: 5/5We ordered the Shrimp Rice Roll, Beef Noodle Soup, Chicken and Mushroom Clay Pot, and of course their famous Pan Fried Vermicelli! Every dish was delicious and met all the expectations. It was my first time trying the pan fried vermicelli and I kept on adding more to my plate. Overall, all the food was enjoyable and filling!AMBIANCE: 4/5The decor was modern and simple. Sitting in here was comfortable as my family and I enjoyed our meal.PARKING: 5/5This restaurant is located in a plaza so there were plenty of parking.

"If you're a big fan of authentic hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop places, then head to Happy Morning! They have some rare authentic dishes that taste just like in Hong Kong - while everyone is raving about the pan-fried vermicelli (it is delicious, but not my favorite) they have so many other dishes that are worth a try because they are harder to find. For example, the bojaifan or crisped rice claypot rice is executed with perfection - the beauty is in the crisped rice (in this instance in a metal pot, but tastes just as good). You can tell whether the chef knows what they are doing by evaluating the crust/crisped rice at the bottom and sides of the pot - it is perfectly and evenly crisp on all sides, no burn spots. This dish alone was heaven. I got the one with the minced pork and salted fish. Don't order this if you have cancer or are worried about getting cancer from the salted fish. Order the other bojaifan choices. But once in a long while only this taste can be had so it must be ordered lol. Much to my family's chagrin. The cold hand-shredded chicken was literally perfection also. A free range chicken, lightly poached, then shredded and tossed in sesame seeds, gorgeously slivered green onions, and sesame oil. Served with a side of mild sweet soy sauce. Heaven! The flavors here are authentic and on point. The key here is the excellent do-fat "knife skill" of the chef - the green onions were literally shredded into the prettiest wisps. The flavors are simple, pure, and on point. He knows authentic Cantonese cooking. They also have some Toishan specialities - and I wish I had four stomachs lol so I could try more. Next time!!The wonton noodle soup was just ok, the noodles were perfectly al dente and toothsome but I prefer my wontons with shrimp and a lot bigger. The wonton wrappers were perfectly thin and silky though.I have had other dishes here - the beef stew noodles are stellar. They have egg puff waffles, citron honey tea, and so many cha chaan teng staples that are hard to find. While I love Delicious Food Corner and other local favorites Happy Morning is in that happy place of an up-and-coming upstart that hasn't gotten famous yet. I suggest coming here before they start having lines around the block! The service is simple and courteous, it is literally a mom and pop shop so do not expect white glove service - these are kind and hardworking folks doing their best in a rough economy. I wish them all the best and will be back each time I am in town to explore more of their delicious menu. While it's a hole-in-the-wall, their decor is super modern, clean and inviting. I like that the tables and banquets aren't sticky lol. This place is a hidden gem!! Literally tucked in the back right pocket next to Vons. Just go!! The food is delicious!!"
"My Taiwanese buddy brought me here for lunch after golf in Rowland Hts. I liked the food so much, I bought char siu, roast duck and roast pork to take home. Two of the many items we had for lunch were shrimp & eggs, and yukh beng (steamed pork patty w/ ferented fish). Both were very good, as was the rest of the food. In addition, the deli items were really tasty. The char siu was moist, and the duck skin & roast pork skin were nice and crispy.Regarding the ambiance, its your typical Chinese restaurant with tables of 2, 4 and a couple of rounds like the one we sat at (there were 8 of us. The deli items were hanging in the window, and were very enticing as evidenced by how much I bought. Our waitress was really nice, and my buddy was able to converse with her in Mandarin. Most of the staff also spoke Cantonese. All in all, a pleasant experience in the heart of SGV. I would definitely return when I am in the area."
"TIP: my husband and I decided on dim sum last minute and was able to order with a person but there was 25 min wait due to them being busy, to avoid any wait order online is the easiest way to go.Located at Twenty Eight restaurant, park in the Google/ Twenty Eight Parking structure.. don't worry about paying as you will get validation at the restaurant EATS: Shu Mai Flight : (2) shu mai, (2) shu mai w. quail egg,(2) shu mai w. lobster, (2) chicken shu mai with house chili oil - this was probably the best dish for us and I liked that we were able to get a taste of the different shu mai that they offered, my favorite was with the quail egg which gave it more richness in each bite Rice Roll with ShrimpGai Lan-(steamed chinese broccoli) - both these dishes were tasty and traditional dim sum items Turnip Cake - I was a bit let down that the outside was burnt, you can definitely tell in my picture lolShrimp Chili Noodles- these were flat noodles with house chili oil and shrimp... the noodles were on the dryer side and overcooked, it also came with an old lime and cilantro that looked like it was going bad. Overall the food was decent, I give this place a 3.5 out of 5. Spending over $70 on 5 dishes is kinda steep in my opinion and there were some areas where they missed the mark in quality. FYI we didn't get any soy sauce thinking they would provide that to us and we only got hot mustard because we asked, so make sure if you try this place to ask for both! If I were to try this place again I would only come back for the shu mai."
"Review #1080~(SGV, CA)~My mom and I walked in here for a quick take out experience since we were ordering dinner from their next door restaurant, 'Pho Rowland.' I also had to borrow the restroom which was kept super clean. From This recent visit about a couple days ago, we ordered a couple of dishes~Duck's Wings and Roasted Tofu to go. As soon as we finished taking out these two dishes, our order from next door's Vietnamese dinner was ready for pick up. Phone didn't get to eat first because it was just a quick take out experience: will add some next time. Parking: Free and convenient plaza parking provided. We must have had our lucky day when we showed up a couple days ago after visiting our family friends in Rowland Heights nearby here. Will likely return again i'm sure."
"As a native Cantonese. I approve this spotCame by with my mom on a weekend day as my mom requested that i spent sometime with her, we just quickly picked this restaurant for a quick brunch.Everything is authentic, this includes the food quality, the taste, the tight parking and server attitude. Overall, i had some quality authentic Cantonese food. The BBQ pork hit the mark with crispy skin and saltiness. The fermented bean curd veggie was great.and as usual, getting in and out of the parking lot was chaotic.Feel like an authentic Chinese spot."
"We came here yesterday on Christmas Day. Our wait was only 15 minutes. The restaurant was full of guests but we were seated comfortably at our table, didn't feel cramped at all. Service was great throughout and things felt clean, both of which were unlike some other dimsum eateries, so it was a bit of a pleasant surprise to us. If you don't want to scan the QR code to order the dimsum items, they can provide you with a printed ordering sheet. Our food came out in a timely manner. The flavors were all quite good. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Cerritos."
"If you're in the Tustin area and craving dim sum, this place definitely stands out. There aren't many options around here, so it's a solid choice. I'd give it a 4-star rating for Tustin, but if you were to head down to more authentic spots like Bolsa or Westminster this would be more of a 2-star experience. The dim sum is decent, nothing mind-blowing, but everything is fresh and served hot. The quality is good for what you can find in Tustin, but it lacks that "wow factor" you get at the more traditional, bustling spots. As for service, it's pretty typical of many dim sum places staff can come off as a bit rude, which seems to be a common theme in many of these spots."
"Located in Diamond Plaza on Fullerton Rd. in Rowland Heights Garden Bistro is an Asian Fusion Hong Kong Style Cafe. The extensive menu has everything from steaks, seafood to chow mien and fried rice. It's very busy and even though our large group had reservations we did wait 15 minutes till they could get the tables put together. It was a family gathering during to holidays and the star of the lunch was my new grand niece. Can't give you a detailed description of all the different items that everyone ordered. The dishes that were within camera distance of my landlocked booth seat had a ribeye steak, scallop pasta, a breaded fillet of sole and a seafood bake over rice. The meal was good but the gathering is what really has the most meaning. Lots of take home boxes at the end of the meal. One knock, the tables are small so with every one ordering mains, appetizers, sides and drinks it was impossible to fit everything all at once. Service was ok. Parking is hard in the super busy center at meal time."
