I recently discovered Altar in my neighborhood, and let me tell you, it's a total game changer. It's just a short walk from my place, which makes it super convenient for those lazy weekend mornings when you want to treat yourself. The burrito itself? A dream! The moment I unwrapped it, I could smell the deliciousness. Inside, there were crispy, perfectly seasoned potatoes that were just the right amount of crunchy and fluffy scrambled eggs that made every bite feel like a warm hug. But the real star here has to be the chorizo--it's so flavorful and well-seasoned, with just the right kick. Seriously, I could eat that stuff morning, noon, and night! What's great is that it's incredibly filling without being too heavy. I felt satisfied but not like I needed a nap afterward (which is a huge plus). Plus, it's got that cozy neighborhood vibe. The staff is always super friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're in the area and craving a delicious breakfast, you've gotta stop by and grab one of these burritos. I know I'll be back for more--it's officially my go-to breakfast spot!

In Long Beach for the first time for a meeting down the street from here. After the meeting we walked over. Loved the ambiance and customer service was cool. The place is huge and I hear it has an area upstairs for concerts. The food was a no for me. Very greasy but that's typical bar food. I'd go back for drinks and maybe something else on the menu.

Anytime I visit somewhere new, I like to find local breweries with their own goods for sale. I walked past the place on my way to the harbor after lunch earlier, and it really stands out from the street as an inviting place. I decided to pop in on my return trip to my AirBnB, and I am so glad I did. This place is set up with tons of wood seating and a small bar. The kettles are on full display adding to the striking and handsome interior. I situated myself at one of the tables since it wasn't very busy and the bar stools were pretty full. The barkeep came over quickly to let me know about the happy hour special from 3-6 on weekdays and how to access the alcohol menu using a QR code. They were also displayed on a scrolling screen by the bar. The food menus were already on the table making it convenient. I chose to get a basket of tots and a Three Pillars Pilsner all on the happy hour special. The tots came out in a huge paper basket and were way too many for just me. They were perfectly crisp and came with a side of ketchup for dipping. The pils had excellent notes of caramel and was an easy drinker. I did check out the menu, and it looked more than ample for a brewery. This place seems to be a pretty awesome place to hang out, enjoy some good food and beer, and have excellent customer service. Check it out anytime you're in Long Beach! I know I'll be back to try more local brews and their menu when in town.

Great selection of beer with a good variety in their menu. I really enjoyed the Nutella Nut ale and their delicious Hazy's! The $5 slice of pizza hit the spot and the meatball mozzarella sub was tasty! The ambiance was cool, especially the music you can hear from the band rehearsing next door. Service was helpful and prompt, which was perfect for the time frame I was in the LB!

Placed an order via Toast order website for a pizza which you can easily link to from the Altar official website. Initially, I thought the pizza was overpriced in comparison to many other popular pizza places around town. When I received my pizza, it was in a gigantic box, and it turned out that the pizza was exactly as big as the box (approximately 19") Based on the size and amount of toppings, it's not a bad value at all! The NY style pizza was crisp and cooked perfectly and was ready at the exact time toast had estimated I didn't try any of the beer, but interacted with a few staff members while I was there. Everybody was so courteous helpful and friendly! Looking forward to coming back and trying other food and beverage options.

Second time I came by I finally wanted to try the Nutella beer because they were out last time. However, unfortunately they did not have it this time either as it is a seasonal beer. So I had the Cafe Campfire Smores Ale and got my free slice of Pizza with the Long Beach Passport. Still happy with my choice :-)

Altar Society Brewing (gastro) pub serves up a good selection of tasty bar food executed well, along with their very own and good craft beers, all located in the historic corridor that is Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach. My wife and I stopped in for the first time for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon and we really enjoyed ourselves: good food and excellent service in a casual atmosphere. We had planned on taking a long walk down to Shoreline Village using Pine Avenue, but it was taking a longer that I thought and thus, we decided to stop into Altar, eat, and then head back before it got too dark. The "day" club nearby was really blasting out the music into the street, so we were pleasantly surprised that one couldn't hear any of it inside. The indoor space is very large, with the back (which has a coffee bar) reaching all the way to the nearby city parking garage (free 2 hours of parking). It was fairly busy (with most watching NFL on the many nearby TV screens). Signs clearly indicated that we were to order (both food and drinks) from the bar, so decided to find a place to sit first. Before we could, Cindy stopped us to ask if we were dining in, and told us that we could order from her directly if we wanted. We decided to sit at a tabletop Ms. Pac-man machine ($0.50 a play). She was super friendly from the onset, and just set a good mood (and even got us change from the bartender to play one game). We weren't super hungry, but definitely wanted to sample couple of their house beers, so decided to go with classics. Chicken wings (8) for $15 - naked wings, deep fried, and tossed in a classic hot sauce. Just the way we like it.Cheese Fries ($11) - shoestring potatoes, expertly deep fried, slathered with a VERY thick beer cheese sauce (more like a spread). The cheese sauce was good...would have been good with a lot of different foods (in fact that and the pulled pork can be added to any dish). Definitely a sauce that becomes part of the main dish vs just flavoring it.We really liked both of our beers, that were unique tastes. The Life's A Peach Hef Pint (9) was a typical light body wheat beer, but with a slight taste of peach, mellowing it even more. The Golden Key Pint ($9) was recommended by Cindy, and surprised both of us. We were expecting a stout, but it looked like a blond ale (very similar in appearance to the Hef), so we were confused thinking we had gotten the wrong beer. But nope, it tasted like a coffee stout, but A LOT lighter to make it an easy drinking session beer. They also serve NY Style pizza (both slices and whole), and have a special (slice and a beer for $9), but only available after 9pm. Regular prices are not cheap, so need to try specials whenever we can.

Walking downtown decided to stop at Altar. Server was very nice and brought us three different beers to taste, all brewed on site. I ordered the pull pork sliders (delicious) and my friend got a salad. Two sliders were plenty with chips. Multiple TV's so great place to catch a game!
