So glad they were open on New Years Day! I always order the Hawaiian BBQ Mix plate here. Comes chicken, beef, and a little bit of short rib, rice and mac salad. You get a lot too! It feels like it weighs a few pounds. They even have to use a rubber band to close the lid on the container cuz it's so stuffed with food that it won't close otherwise. And don't forget to get a can of the Hawaiian drinks. Everything is so good!

I have a new favorite Hawaiian BBQ joint. Too bad that they are not located in my hometown, though. Aloha Hawaiian BBQ is located in Santa Ana next to Plato's Closet on Bristol St. This spot was not on our radar when we were looking for a restaurant to dine at with my parents. My Mom saw them as we were driving by and said "Let's eat there!" So I did as Mom instructed, and were all happy that we did.The restaurant is not very large, and it is not fancy. Go to the counter to place your order, and then find a table to dine at. We were there mid afternoon so there were not too many folks dining in. Although, they did have plenty of take out orders. They are not a fast food joint so don't expect to get your food quickly. We waited about 20 minutes for our order, and it was worth the wait!!Each one of us was extremely happy with our choices! Portion sizes ranged from good to generous, and prices are very reasonable. We shared the food, and I had my favorites. Spam Musubi was delicious! Chicken Katsu was yummy!!!I Highly recommend Aloha Hawaiian Bbq!! Terrific place with delectable food!

I have been here many times over the years but was not impressed with my to-go order yesterday. I ordered the BBQ chicken and shrimp meal. Don't get me wrong, you get a lot of food for your money but the chicken was SO fatty, it wasn't pleasant to eat. I probably won't ever return unfortunately.

Generous portions, juicy chicken, and fast service BUT the food is really bland. I ordered the chicken katsu mini meal and was super bummed at the lack of flavor in the entire meal and even the katsu sauce. I even tried making a concoction out of their katsu sauce, teriyaki, and ketchup but nothing was bringing the flavor out. On the plus side the chicken was notably juicy.

If you're looking to BULK this is where you go.In a world of excess, there are so many people in OC looking to optimize their macros and use food as fuel to become their best selves. I don't know if Aloha Hawaiian BBQ fits the criteria of becoming your best self, but if you're looking for no frills Hawaiian plate lunches to put on MASS, this is where you go. I've been coming here for years whenever I want to get 2 meals in 1 and although I sometimes feel some self-loathing after the fact, it always hits the spot.I typically get either the Half & Half BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu plate or the Hawaiian BBQ Mix... they both cost about $20 including tax. When I talk about mass I mean MASS: they use a rubber band to tie down the container and each order is easily enough for 2 meals, maybe even 3.Now the food itself is about the same style and quality you'd get at just about any Hawaiian plate lunch spot, but if you're looking to gorge on a plate of protein, fats, and carbs without paying attention to how others think of you, THIS IS THE SPOT.Added bonus: they're always playing the sports event of the moment in here, whether it's football, basketball, or soccer, and the A/C is always CRANKING.

Food was old and dry. Burnt as well. Ordered through door dash and was extremely disappointed. Tried to finish the food as we did not want to waste it but the only thing edible was the macaroni salad.

This place saved my sanity when the kids didn't like what we actually had for lunch. The kids quieted down and scarfed down the chicken katsu. The meat was white, thick, and tender. The batter was lightly covered with crispy panko. There was plenty of rice for the two little kids to share. The mac salad was not as creamy as I am used to because it had canned tuna in it, but it was nice to have something a little different from other places. The seating area was spacious, and there was a self-service soda fountain with fresh tasting water. This restaurant was the perfect find for my tired kids.

Likes:+ Ample parking. Located near the freeway. + Ton of good food.+ Polite cashier. Non-likes:- Food comes out much slower here than the one in Irvine on Tustin Ranch Rd (they bring your food out within 2min). Here they took 13min, long enough for me to write this whole review. - I ordered he same thing here: the Hawaiian BBQ mix. The total came out to be about another $1 because of a 3.8% service charge. - [Ambiance] Two and a Half Men on TV. Not my cup of tea.

The food here is consistently good and the portions are generous without the crazy price tag. Great food for weekdays when picking up food for the family!
