Akami Sushi

Small but cozy mid-priced sushi restaurant. This place is perfect for when you want quality sushi but you don't want to break the bank. It's located in sort of a run down area, but the inside is modern and classy. I would highly recommend placing yourself on the yelp waitlist before arriving as there aren't many seats. Also it is less of a wait if you are only a party of two since you can sit at the bar. We ordered the premium nigiri set and it was the perfect amount of food for me. I had to give some of the tuna rolls to my partner because I was starting to get full Everything was delicious and the service was great! The waitress that was serving us was so friendly and bubbly I will definitely be back to try their omakase!

The remodeled space is new and modern. I have fond memories of coming here with my family for many many dinners before they changed owners. It was nice to be back.My friend and I came here for lunch. The tofu salad needed more dressing. It lacked flavor. The albacore sushi was good. The fish tasted fresh. It had wasabi inside between the fish and rice already. Their sushi lunch sets looked appetising. I will probably get that next time. Service was alright, not the best. There is free street parking available.

Very good food and great service! Their menu and style is very similar to Iki Ramen in Ktown (might be sister company but I'm not entirely sure). They have a sushi bar available and have small tables close together that give it a cozy vibe. They're located in a small plaza with limited parking but there is street parking available. Their sushi is fresh and the noodles (mentaiki mentai) is sooo yummy! Very similar if not the same to the one at Iki Ramen. Their chawamushi is good, but had a lot going on and many flavors at once that overpowered the egg. For cooked options, I'd recommend the california roll and spider roll. The service is also 10/10, and they give you good recommendations. They are also quick to taking plates away and refilling water. Kitchen forgot to make one of our orders and there was no issue in taking it off of the bill. Will come back when I'm able to eat raw fish again!

Surprised to find a sushi restaurant, very nice sushi, raw fish, and a set dinner called : Omakase!Not too expensive, but very good quality ! The decor is bright contemporary, homey, and comfortable just a little bit noisy, maybe the guest was not trained as a gourmet!Service is pretty good with very detailed explanation about the food !You cannot make a reservation without ordering on my cousin the set dinner by chef with no menu !But very satisfied with the full quality and creation !

Great place! Love their dessert and chirashi set. Chirashi has a good variety of fish. Even though it is thinly slices, I feel full after eating it. Tempura is also very good as well. Their dessert is affordable and very delicious. I especially love their creme brûlée.It is a small restaurant, so sometimes there might be a wait. Great for a date otherwise as it has a nice and soft ambience, with lots of natural lighting. Parking can be difficult, but you can park in the neighborhood.

Love the sushi here! Always consistent in quality - I get the sashimi sets and rolls. Service can be a bit sparse during busy hours but it's easy to flag them down if needed.

Honestly, thought this sushi spot was going to be all hype, but it was soooo good!!The blue fin tuna with burrata and olive oil, sounds like it wouldn't work, but it was one of our favorite bites of the night. We also loved the scallop, uni, caviar nigiri. It was luxurious and decadent. The baked scallop roll is simple but the scallop was lightly baked so it was so tender. My husband had the premium sashimi set, it was beautiful and obviously served with super fresh fish!

First time trying this restaurant - all the details from the decorations to ceramic pottery dishes to services were beautiful and excellent. We came for a Valentine's Day $150 omakase at lunch (reservations via Yelp for omakase only). Each course was bright and prepared thoughtfully! Our waitresses were attentive and explained what each item in each course was. Had a wonderful experience and will be back!

Before you walk in, you scan the QR code to add your name to the wait list. We were lucky to be seated right away as it was just me and my daughter. We started off with their mis/o soup, blossom roll and lemon roll. Also my daughter got a salmon handroll and softshell crab handroll. And we also ordered a crab avocado cut roll. We also had their house salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. Then we ended the meal with their Shio koji ice cream. It was perfectly delicious!!Thanks aakami sushi team for the great service!!
