Soto Betawi Soup recommended to have more taste, not much meat for the price charged.

Our Indonesian friend tried to introduce us to this place, but jokes on her, we'd already been going for awhile! This is definitely a hole in the wall tucked into the corner of 168 Market, but the people are friendly and very helpful. A few things we always get when we're here:Tek Tek Kuah - I get this just about every time. Normally, I'm more of a rice guy, but I'm always down for some of these. The noodles have a great chew to them, the soup base is very good, and their sauces are next level. Can't go wrong.Skewers - This one's for our boys. We definitely had a debate in house awhile back on whether filipino BBQ skewers or Indonesian Skewers were better, and I think we eventually just gave up and said both were good. Their sweet soy sauces are fantastic but their peanut sauce is right up there with the best we've ever had. My wife was waxing poetic on the virtues of the sauce to the chefs, and they let us know that they used actual peanuts they roasted themselves.Ketoprak / Gado Gado - I put these two together since we almost always get one or the other. Both are great. We get Gado Gado when we want to have more greens with our meal (usually the wife), or Ketoprak if we don't believe in salad for the day (usually me). Both are great because we eat both smothered in that peanut colored ambrosia they make.I listed a few options off the menu, but at the end of the day, if you like indonesian flavors you could probably throw a dart at the menu and be satisfied. The sauces are great (especially the peanut), the noodles have a great texture, and the meats are satisfying. What more do you want?

Great authentic Indonesia foodBatagor is huge 4/5 - fried tofu/fishcake def enough for 3-4 people as an appetizer.Dry noodles with ground chicken and soup on the side was delicious and flavorful 4/5 If you've never had it you mix in a little bit of the soup into the noodles. I like to mix in half and then drink half separately.Soto betawi very solid soup great flavor and tender beef 5/5. I'm biased towards soup and was a huge fan of the tripe/tender beef/tomatoes and creamy base flavor. Chicken Skewers 3/5 - flavor was good and the meat was okay, but some dry parts to it. Peanut sauce paired well to help mask the dryness

Such a gem hidden inside the 168 Market. This place is affordable and delicious. Portions are large. I usually call ahead for takeout as it usually takes 20-25 minutes if I order there. I love the mi goreng and house fried rice. Each comes with a good portion of meat. I only visit SoCal a few times a year, but when I do, I always get takeout from here!

Indonesian food is hard to find in this area, so this spot is a real gem. They are located right inside the 168 Supermarket.I've tried their nasi goreng(fried rice) and mie goreng(fried noodles). The Nasi goreng was quite good, but not as flavorful as I had hoped, but the mie goreng is truly delicious. The noodles that they use are slightly chewy and pick up plenty of flavor. If you love spicy, you will love this spot. Keep in mind that their spiciness is similar to Thai spicy, so their mild is quite a kick for a lot of people.I've always ordered a party platter of mie goreng for a potluck. A small size was able to feed 12 people with plenty of leftovers. It was a hit!The service is always great and the wait for food is usually 10-15minutes!

We came here to eat lunch. We ordered the chicken mushroom noodle, batagur and mie tek tek. I love the chicken mushroom noodle soup. It was delicious. The service was quick. It took 15 minutes for us to get our food. The place was okay at it was busier around dinner. It's situated at the left corner of the supermarket and it wasn't hard to find.

I kind of like this cozy little Indonesian place inside a FREEZING Asian supermarket. Lots of noodles options and it's all been good. You have to pay for water which is kind of a drag but gotta roll with it.

EVERY BITE satisfied and met my Indonesian flavor cravings!! This place is a hidden gem in my opinion. Not a fancy place. Ignore the market shoppers running their errand. Takeout makes sense, but they do have tables inside if you prefer dining in. If you're craving more authentic Indonesian/Malaysian flavors, like I often do, +62 Street Food hits the spot!!! INSIDE the Asian market, tons of spacious parking in this large corner shopping center. Seems like there are a lot of food vendors too, ramen, shabu, Chinese, boba, etc. I called in my order for takeout as I was driving through the area. I couldn't wait to try a bite of everything once I was back in my car, too: Gado Gado with peanut sauce, few small shrimp chips, and steamed rice, Chicken Satay, stir Fri glass noodles with chicken and veggies (Bihun Goreng w/Ayem) and an extra steamed rice. Finally!!! I even like their peanut sauce that accompanied their Gado Gado. I believe I paid cash and it was about $37 for everything. Generous portions, I thought: I made four dinners and two lunches out of everything I ordered.Just an FYI if you want to read more: More details and why this place sets the new bar for me: Gado Gado: ample peanut sauce dressing, kecap manis garnish, ONLY DOWNSIDES were no kruprek???? Maybe they were out of stock? And NO ACAR (garnish for satay, a cucumber, onion, carrot, sweet vinegar dressing garnish) and their veggies included all the must-haves: boiled cabbage, bean sprouts, one hard boiled egg (I need to ask for extra next time) boiled spinach, and an Asian green veggie I don't know the name but it has the spinaxh-like leaves and thicker green stems for some great crunch. This is the FIRST TIME in ages where I did not even have to adjust the peanut sauce from the restaurant. I could enjoy their peanut sauce as-is! If anything, I could add more sambal if I wanted it more spicy. Bihun Goreng is a generous portion and has the perfect noodles, thin glass noodles fried with a perfect vegetable to chicken to noodle ratio. Next time, I'd definitely order a couple orders at-a-time to be sure I have a couple extra lunches in there. Chicken satay, again, generous portions!! The bamboo stick is densely packed with the chicken and grilled and seasoned perfectly. I can't wait to be back to try these items again and venture to try even more!

I'm gonna start on a high note today. The batagor is hands down the best. It's a fried tofu/fish cake dish with lots of yummy crunchy bits. It's great for sharing because they are generous with their portion. I would come here just to order this dish when I'm in SoCal.The kwe tiau siram is okay. The gravy is a little thick and lacks flavor. I don't remember if it was supposed to be chicken but I couldn't tell the meat. In Jakarta, Indonesia where I had the best ever kwe tiau siram on Jalan Hayam Wuruk they typically make it with beef slices.I saw some very positive reviews on their dry noodles. I was disappointed when my wife said her mie ayam lacked even the basic flavors. Noodles are her favorite food and her words were not so nice. I do agree as my mie taste bland. Even after putting the spicy hot sauce I felt like it's missing something. The noodle texture is good but did someone forget to add sauce?
