Service is great. Good and drinks are amazing too. Was here for a conference and the food and drinks were so good the first night, I ate here again.

I had a late meal at the hotel restaurant and I had a nice dining experience. I sat at the bar in the patio section which was nice with fresh air and they have a nice outdoor fire pit. I ordered the salmon which was very good. The service was friendly and accommodating with Nick and Zack. I would recommend this restaurant if you need to stay in the hotel.

I was in town just for a night and found Amuse to be just a typical hotel restaurant. It's really more for hotel guests who dont want to venture far outside after checking ib or a long day out (which was the case for me after walking long hours during the day time that day). The menu contains very basic items like salad, sandwiches..although I was hoping for something more complex, satisfying that can't usually/easily be cooked at home.I settled on a bowl, where you get to pick a grain and a type of meat. I found the bowl to be just ok. The lime that came with the dish wasn't quite fresh and seemed a lil dry. Service was polite and ok. They did try to check up on me. The food wasn't that memorable..and frankly if there's a place nearby elsewhere within a short walking distance, I would have preferred going there instead. The setting of this place was pretty much a bar with few tables around...so it wasn't as conducive for sitting and fully relaxing eating your dinner.Overall, just ok for hotel food. If you have a car or feel like walking to a mall close by though..I think those places may offer better alternatives/prices/ values for your meal.

In my heart of hearts, I'd rather go out from the hotel for dinner if I'm in another city. I was recently on a long golf weekend and the Marriott La Jolla was a logical choice for the first night based on its proximity to Torrey Pines. After a day of golf, the convenience of a reasonably nice restaurant within minutes of your room was a major plus.My experience was based on eating and drinking at the bar. There are also bistro tables in the hotel lobby and a nice looking outdoor area (pictures are on Yelp). We were both ready for a drink. I was happy with their beer selection and had a couple of offerings from Stone - their IPA, which oddly I'd never had, and the Xocoveza. There was also the Bartender's drink of the day, which turned out to be Tequila Sunrise. Overall a nice full bar with nice bartenders. Went with the Burger, which was on a nice bun with fixin's plus the opportunity to add two additional items, plus you can add more. My burger was a Cheddar, Bacon and Avocado (they also had fried onions, mushrooms, other cheese and a fried egg that could be added) - I ordered Sweet Potato Fries which were no additional charge. The burger nailed my number one rule of good burgers and sandwiches: Have more bun on the bottom. And, it was a nice brioche bun. I typically don't order dessert, but hey, Golf Vacay. The Tiramisu was pretty underwhelming, more like a Tiramisu flavored cake. I wasn't too upset, as I still enjoyed some cake after dinner. After three beers and a day of golf, let me tell you that dinner did the trick. I was happy with my experience, as was my dining companion. You can check out the menu and find a decent range depending upon what you're in the mood to eat. Overall, it's a nice hotel lobby restaurant with a large outdoor area. Additionally, this is a beautiful hotel lobby and it was during the holiday season and the tree was quite strikingly nice. And, it was so nice to be in the room within minutes, full and happy.

Came in to hear the live music and have dinner. The waiter ignored me for a few minutes, but it was Valentines Day so I figured he's stressed, no worries. After a while though I asked if it was open seating and he said "pretty much". Um okay. So far not exactly what I'd expect from the Marriott La Jolla, but alright Couldn't decide what to order the first time the waiter asked what I'd like, so I apologized and ordered a water. I guess that was the end for him. He never came back and after about 15 minutes I moved closer to the music because at this point that was the only thing keeping me there. I really did want one of their craft cocktails though so I went to ask him first (didn't want to step on toes). I said, "so should I just order from the bar?", he gave me a cold, "yes". A very shitty and weak cocktail with a rotten lime for garnish. Worst $16 "craft cocktail" ever!!! You know, I know this place is expensive and I came here prepared to spend 25+ on dinner plus drinks. The only good thing was the music. The service and my drink sucked. When will Yelp enable a negative star system???

I search the world for the best Caesar salad. I search far and wide, long and hard! Alas I bring you the most unassuming location to feature the tastiest Caesar I have sampled in years! The sauce is super authentic and I ask for red onions and tomatillos/ always fresh and the cheese is incredible-- great pop! I eat this salad weekly and the quality of the lettuce, freshness of the ingredients and overall taste is out of this world!

Such a lovely lounge at the low level of the Marriot Hotel! I went last night to pick up a friend that was a way too long conversation with a colleague and needed some respite. It took me a while to find parking on the street (parking is $4/hour and I asked if they validate and looks like only for salsa dancers. Oh well. That is the only reason I give 3 stars, and also because we only had drinks and no food, so cannot comment on that yet.The menu looks very good, though, and I wonder about the name 'amuse', somehow it reminds me the 'amuse-bouche' (appetizer in French). Don't know if they were thinking about this fun French expression, but I am sure it perfectly matches with what you get there at this perfect hidden oasis. Prices look normal, so I will be back for the food.

Don't any of the wait staff ever look up? I'm a freaking customer and they are all huddled together talking behind the bar. After about 10 minutes, we managed to get someone's attention and we placed our orders. Angus burger, Turkey burger, two kids meals, and a shrimp and grits. 40 minutes in, no food and our table still had the previous customers dishes sitting there in plain sight. No waters, no attempt to clean up, and no customer service to speak of. We sat down at 8:00 and the kids are starving and cranky. One guy kept going back to the POS machine for no real reason that I could think of. He didn't take any orders and just stood there playing with the screen. After complaining about the long wait, we got some weird comment that they don't make the food here and he'll try to expedite it. 15 minutes later, the two Turkey burgers come out. Most normal places would bring the kid food first. This place is different, kids meals come last. The kids ordered lemonade and it was fizzy margarita mix. Really? Kids were not happy. It took roughly 5 minutes for the drinks to appear despite the bar being literally 3 feet away from where we were sitting. The tender was just standing around joking with his buddies and we had to remind him that we had drink orders to fill. This apparently reminded him that he needed cups to serve the lemonades in so this is the point where the table was finally cleaned. Seriously, it was a total disaster.Angus burger was ordered medium and it arrived as cardboard. It had absolutely no seasoning or nutritional value. It was dry, tasteless, and totally not worth it. Lucky for me, I got food you can eat with your hands but others in our group were not so fotunate. The table was finally cleaned up but once the food came, the server disappeared and didn't give us any tableware. No knife, forks, spoons, napkins, etc... nothing. He just brought the food and left. WTF! Seriously? We had to get up from the table and track someone down to get us utensils. Turkey burger was TERRIBLE. Meat was pink but somehow totally overcooked to the point where the dining table looked more appetizing. After tasting it, the table definitely would have been better. At least the table was seasoned with crumbs from the diners who ate at our table before us. The shrimp and grits were apparently not bad, but I didn't have the appetite to try. If you like to fight for attention or like waiting for food that is both tasteless and expensive, this is your place. If you want a real burger, go down to the mall across the street, save some dough, and make your mouth happy. We finished dinner at 10:30. I kid you not. Do not eat here.

It's downstairs in the Marriott hotel where we were staying. They have a nice social distancing patio. It's a bar in a hotel, so it's a bit pricey, but not too ridiculous for the area. Food was on par with your average restaurant (Chilies, Red Robin, etc).

The service was terrible and food was trash. I called ahead to order a burger and fries but the server was rude and my burger tasted like cardboard. It was cold and the buns were stale. Plus it was way overpriced. I definitely won't be returning.
