My fiancé and I recently celebrated a quiet birthday dinner at this Ambrogio15 location, and it was a such delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was so beautiful and perfect for the occasion on a Sunday night. We tried several dishes, including the Manzo Tonnato, Hannibal Lecter pizza, and Porcini Guanciale e Salsa Tartufata. Each dish was delicious, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and authentic Milanese flavors. The service was the cherry on top, with George being particularly attentive and providing fantastic recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. This Ambrogio15 is conveniently located inside the Del Mar Sky Deck, making it easy to explore the area afterward and enjoy a drink or ice cream. The whole setup is so cute and convenient. I highly recommend this location for its delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding service.

We celebrated Father's Day here and were able to reserve a table for 8 people at 12noon. Much to my surprise, I had no issues making a reservation on Open Table just an hour before. When we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty (this was warning sign that I dismissed due to the holiday). We ordered the following to share family style:2 caprese salads - $18.50 eachFried calamari - $19.50Gnocchi $34.00Cabanara - $29Italian ramen - $29Margherita pizza -$19.00Salsiccia asiago & porcini pizza - $23.50Coke - $4.50Ginger ale - $7.50We enjoyed the caprese salads and calamari, although we felt the portion size was relatively small and were not worth the price.Of the 2 pizzas, we preferred the Margherita over the sausage mushroom. The sausage mushroom pizza was too salty and greasy. We typically prefer thin crust over thick crust, although the crust here was way too thin. The edge of the pizza had a nice crisp, but the center was too thin and soggy. We did not enjoy the texture of the dough. We didn't see how they could have been awarded as San Diego's best pizza, we disagreed considerably! At most, we would give the pizzas a 3 out of 5 star rating. The gnocchi and cabanara pastas were too rich and creamy. We did not enjoy these at all. 2 stars max. The portions were very small for the heavy price tag.Of all the dishes, the worst was the Italian ramen. It was a failed attempt at ramen. The only good thing was the soy sauce egg. The wide pastas were over cooked. The beef slices were too well done and dry. The meatballs were fatty. The broth had a weird sour taste to it. In summary, this was a 1 star dish (5 stars for the egg alone and for everything else, deduct 1 star each). The restaurant itself was beautiful and had a nice patio. Service was not bad. Overall, this restaurant fell short of my expectations. It definitely was not worth $259.33 (tax and 20% tip automatically included).

I decided to try Ambrogio15 because it looked really nice. When I read the menu I saw it has Michelin star chefs working and knew I had to try it. Inside looks really nice and makes you feel like you should dress nice (even though everyone eating there was dressed casual) I felt like I was in a fancy restaurant. However, our serve was nice, but I didn't care for the paring I got. I ordered the, Carbonara Come Uma Volta. I saw the Michelin chef would be preparing it as it was labeled with a "star". I was not too impressed especially with the price. The pairing the waiter gave me was an Orange Pinot Grigio. It tasted like cheap wine. My pasta didn't have much flavor and I felt needed more of something but I couldn't pinpoint what it was.My mom ordered the Bronzino was very disappointing and had a very fishy taste. It didn't taste fresh and was overly salty. She ordered a Pinot Noir. It tasted like cherry medicine.I'm not sure if we went on an off day but the food wasn't to my liking, especially for the price. For two wines and two entrees it was almost $200 with the tip.

Good pizza but not the best I've had in San Diego. The Burrata e prosciutto from the sign had good cheese and was cooked about right, but it wasn't very hot when I got it (maybe they were timing the two pizzas together) and the dough wasn't anything special. Not many cocktail options but the negroni was good The seating area is loud as it's open to the food court with music playing. Staff was friendly but not very attentive, could have used another water but we didn't see them until it came time for the check. Pizza was fairly priced. I would consider coming back to try some of the other dishes but generally prefer some of the other Italian options.

Chillin' with a buddy on the Brewer's Deck level of Sky Deck and ordered a Burratina e Prosciutto (Fresh Burrata, Prosciutto Crudo di Parma aged 20 months, EVOO, Olives, Focaccia) from Ambrogio15 below.Unfortunately, the focaccia bread was a bit too soggy and dense to properly showcase the delicately flavored burrata dollops and prosciutto slices. In hindsight, a crispy thin pizza crust with those toppings would've been the better call!

A welcoming spot within a food hall on the 2nd floor of the Sky Deck. You can get food to go and enjoy on the 3rd floor (the deck), but I sat in the seating area and enjoyed the ambiance.I ate fairly early (5:30ish), so the restaurant was not too busy.Service was quick and my pizza and beer came out quickly. A 16 inch pizza with sausage, mushrooms, and tasty melted cheese, with just enough sauce and a crisp crust. 1 star off as the center got soggy (so the slices were hard to hold and eat).Prices were very good for this area ($30ish for the pie and a beer).I recommend this location and will try again the next time I'm in Del Mar.

My boyfriend and I did the Italian omakase where the chef has a curated menu course. We've done Japanese omakase many times before and the idea of Italian omakase sounded so fun!If you decide to only get pizza here, please get the once upon a time lasagna became a pizza!! It was so good and satisfied the craving of wanting pasta even though it was in a pizza form! The other dish I would recommend is the tartufo dessert. It was basically a giant Ferraro Rocher with ice cream! The staff was so kind to us and the vibes in the restaurant were so lively. A great experience in my opinion!

Not your Ma and pa Italian but not a bad for something local in Del Mar. Ambrogio15 is a posh Italian spot. Food is beyond excellent! But the ambience could be livelier. They need music or some other decorations to help it feel more Italian and like a special night out. Without music you hear everything your neighbors are saying. The service was decent, our waitress wasn't the warmest. I wish the menu was more clear about vegetarian options or substitutions, my dinner date and I had to Google translate most of the Italian text. I would come back though. The food is phenomenal, definitely on par with what you would get in Europe.
