Mr. Amalo has a warm and inviting personality. Amalo's is tucked in near the library entrance behind one of the big beautiful trees. If you are walking, or across the street at the park or the library, it's a local business worthy of support. You can get coffee, of course, donuts and cold drinks. If you wanted a quick bite, the cart does have noodles. There are two seating tables and chairs to enjoy your coffee break. The area is shaded and serene all year. Alongside the library boardwalk are cemented benches with honorary plaques. I ordered a vanilla chai latte with coffee and actually it was balanced and yummy.By the way, if you Yelp check-in you get a .50 donut

This coffee stand is located right outside the library on Coronado Island. Note: It's street parking. Parking on the island is kind of a challenge; if you can't find street parking, you can always park by Walgreens right across the street for a fee of $6 for 2 hours or $12 for more than 2 hours. Amalo Brew is a little coffee stand which might be easy to miss; but you would not want to miss it because their iced vanilla latte is fantastic! Barista was also very nice and friendly.

One of the many hidden gems of Coronado. Purchased a dozen donuts along with a dozen donut holes. Donuts included cinnamon roll, taro, sprinkles, pop tart, old fashioned blueberry, s'mores, and maple bars. Donuts were fresh, light, and airy. Nothing overly sweet, oily, or heavy, and no bitter aftertaste. Customer service was extremely personable and professional. I was able to place my order a day ahead and pay over the phone. On the day of pick up my boxes were labeled, ready, and waiting. The owners were extremely gracious and insisted on loading my boxes into my vehicle. I look forward to many future visits and can't wait to try the coffee.

Not impressed, will not be coming back again. First things first, ordered an iced Vanilla Latte and it tasted like sugared milk, far too sweet. Could not taste any espresso, extremely disappointed given we had asked how sweet their Lattes were. Also, $12.00 for two standard lattes.... quite expensive given the quality. No menu. We walked up to the small counter and there was no list of drinks/food or pricing whatsoever. We had to ask about what they had from specialties to flavors, milk, espresso, cold brew... and no pricing. Not convenient or professional. Menu on their website is wholly incomplete and does not match the one on Yelp.Very few signs locating the shop for first time customers not to mention extremely little parking. Add it all together and we will not be coming back. Not worth the hassle for the subpar experience.

It was great to find this little coffee kiosk just outside the public library doors on Orange Ave; our motel was a short walk and we needed morning coffee for a few days. The owner/barrista is a cool guy and makes GREAT organic drip. Also tried his espresso drinks (I had an Americano; fabulous!).We made a daily stop to pick up of our morning brew (and great bakery goods, too) and enjoyed the best coffee and pastry we've had in quite awhile.Would highly recommend Amalo Brew coffee the next time you're visiting Coronado Island!
