So glad that we dined here. We were looking at a few Thai places and this one popped up and had good reviews. My uncle is kind of a Thai food connoisseur and has eaten at many Thai restaurants. My boyfriend has never eaten Thai before, so I was hoping he would like it. We all LOVED the food here! Absolutely delicious! I've only been to a few Thai places and this one is the best so far. Service was excellent and the ambiance is very relaxing. It's very clean and tidy and the decor is pretty as well. It's located right off Arlington heights road. Here's what we ordered:Crab Rangoon appetizerChicken egg rolls appetizer Fried pot stickers appetizerCalamari -I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and it was excellent. I would definitely order it again from here. -My brother ordered the basil duck entree. It was just perfect. I believe duck is one of those foods that can be bad if not cooked and seasoned well. This entree exceeded his expectations, and mine as well(of course I had to get a bite! Lol). -My boyfriend ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and we also shared a plate of fried rice. He loved everything and is now a lover of Thai food! Their fried rice is so tasty and full of flavor. So much better than Chinese fried rice in our opinion. Drinks: We all ordered a Thai iced tea (my all time favorite), and two people at our table ordered the Thai coffee as well. Both the tea and coffee are super sweet and tasted soooo good! This will be our go-to Thai spot! I would highly recommend.

3.5 starscame for din as a party of 5. we started off with the shrimp rolls which tasted good/fresh. for my entree, i got the pad thai with beef and asked for chili oil on the side. the pad thai was surprisingly delicious! i was surprised that the beef was a whole extra $3 though. next time, i'll opt for the chicken which is not extra. very flavorful but i wish there were more noodles and less bean sprouts. the chili oil was also not really chili oil. just oiled chili flakes. it was also an extra charge of 25 cents which i wish the server told us ahead of time.for dessert we got the mango sticky rice and taro custard. the mango sticky rice was good and the mangoes tasted fresh but overpriced at $10. we had previously requested they add a candle for a friend's birthday and they happily complied and sang happy birthday. the taro custard was good but extremely tiny and definitely not worth $5. i do not recommend that one.i also want to mention that i had previously called asking which desserts are gluten free and the manager said only the mango sticky rice but then at the restaurant the server said the taro custard was GF too. if they could notate which dessert items are GF on the menu, that would be helpful.overall a solid experience but pretty expensive for the portions.

04/18/24 - After a morning of shopping @ Costco we worked up appetite and decided to have some Thai food for a late lunch. My friend and I stopped off at AltThai for lunch in Arlington Heights. The restaurants decor is very nice w/authentic Thai decor. We were greeted & seated and perused the lunch menu. We decided to order a couple of dishes & share family style so we could try a few items. We ordered 2 dishes 1 noodle dish Pad Woon Sen - This came w/the stir fried glass noodles. This dish came w/an option of beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp. We choose the beef w/stir fried vegetables mixed inThe second dish had a combination of beef, stir fired vegetables & a ball of white rice. Both of these dishes came w/a small bowl of Panang Curry Soup that was excellent & for me the highlight of the meal. We were also offered a choice of a small cucumber salad in a sweet vinegar that was delicious & 2 small fried dim sum which was very good.This was a very pleasant dining experience w/good company & better than average food & good service.

The food quality is consistently excellent. In my opinion, it's the best Thai food in the area. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. My only concern is how rushed I feel when eating at Alt Thai. Everything comes out to the table whenever it's ready even though we're not done with our previous course. Most of the time, I'm never greeted with courtesy, but am lead quickly to a table. This restaurant is too classy for rude service. This would have been a five star review, if the attitude of the servers were better and I didn't feel rushed in and rushed out. One male server was excellent, but I only encountered him once.

You can see the restaurant when driving on Arlington Heights Road. We have passed this restaurant many times and today was the day we stopped in for lunch. The area is pretty nice you can walk around and shop at nice variety of small stores and shops. When you first walk in the restaurant there is a pickup area and someone was standing there ready to seat us. The restaurant is very clean, elegant, and tastefully decorated. There is soft instrumental music playing in the background but it did not drown out conversations at other tables. We sat in the "upper" dining room (a step higher) and there were two ladies from the lower dining room that asked to move near our table because it was too noisy in the "lower" level. So you may want to sit closer to the front door if you want a quieter table. AsWe decided to come here for lunch because my husband took the day off. Since it is Friday and lent, we cannot eat meat today. There were plenty of veggie options on the menu. My husband ordered the Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp, he said unfortunately it was way too dry for his liking and says he will probably try the Pad Thai next time.My husband drinks so much water and was impressed that they kept his cup full. He must have had 6 refills. Lunch comes with the choice of a vegetable egg roll, or pot stickers and if your dining in a bowl of soup. There are two choices we picked the tofu spinach. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with vegetables and it had the perfect balance of sauce because not only could I taste the yummy sauce but all the veggies and noodles too. So yummy! I have been to Thai restaurants that have put on way too much sauce and this was definitely not the case. This is probably the best Pad Kee Mao I have ever had the pleasure to eat! If your in the area I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Nice thai restaurant place in arlington height and close to train station. The food is delish. We tried the spring rolls, pad thai, shrimo fried rice, cucumber salad, crab rangoon. It was good. Love it. Would comeback again to try another dish

Had takeout while visiting a friend in the area. My veggie combo was delicious. I normally don't like spring rolls or the lettuce type wraps but was trying to be more healthy. So glad I did. They have tofu satay!!!! The peanut sauce is on point. My husband and sons had hot dishes (Thai fried rice, pad see ew, pad kee mao) and were all impressed. They had no leftovers because they maxed everything. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I'm in Evanston but might make the trip for this Thai food. It's that good. Can't speak to service or ambiance since we didn't go inside.

The food is amazing 5star and the service is very very very nice but the price is a bit expensive

I came here twice. First time, foods were ok, services are not. The servers are very rude and unprofessional. Second time, foods are bad, no taste and servers are extremely rude and ignorant. I don't understand why people can go to work with such bad attitude and if you don't want to work then stay home. I will not come back.
