Where do I start?Food: A+; the sandwich was fantastic. Unreal. Mind-numbingly good. It's basic but basic is what you want. No, basic is what you need. Lobster was fresh. Bread was toasted well. Lightly seasoned with mayo(?). Look folks: this is what you need in your life. Right now. Who cares about anything else? You can sit inside or outside. Sit outside. Share a table with a stranger. Talk crap about New York, all the traffic in Boston, and how it takes an Uber like 10-45 minutes to show up. Eat here. Seriously, you need this.

Super casual hole in the wall establishment with plenty of outdoor picnic bench seating. We placed our order at the counter, and waited 15 minutes on a Saturday afternoon for our lobster sandwich. The lobster sandwich is stuffed to the brim with lobster, and is sandwiched between toasted white bread. The lobster itself is tender and moist, and a tasty treat. Overall a great casual experience, and would recommend.

The place is a crossover fish market (the scallops looked exquisite but were market items) and lobster pot right smack in the middle of Cambridge. The place is counter service for both dining and market options. My wife had a lobster sandwich (not actually the traditional roll on a bun) so she didn't have to do any work (~$32). I had a whole "chicken" (maybe a pound) lobster ($~20) so I did have to work. Both were fresh lobster at its best. I might have liked a slightly larger lobster myself but that wasn't an option. The weather was hot so sitting out on a picnic table under an umbrella was perfect. There is a small shed to eat in on rainy days. Just what we were looking for as we neared the end of a New England vacation.

I really wanted to try a solid lobster roll while visiting Boston and Alive & Kicking Lobsters was recommended as an delicious place to stop by to fulfill that wish. I stopped by Alive and Kicking on a Wednesday around noon to check this place out.Parking seems to be mostly streetside to the restaurant, as it feels like its located just in a neighborhood as there are residential houses/apartments surrounding the location. Service is casual, you order your food at the cash register and they hand you a number, and then someone brings out your food to the corresponding tray, and you bus your own tables afterwards. As for food, the lobster sandwich was specifically recommended as the item to get while stopping by. This is a very solid lobster sandwich! As you can see in the photos, it is literally jam packed with lobster - there is no skimping, and the lobster is an inch thick from crust to crust. There isn't too much added to the lobster other than a slight bit of mayo I think, and also the bread is really plain too - which really highlights the freshness of the lobster. Each toothsome bite is satisfying, and you'll finish the sandwich before you know it. Though it is almost $40 for a sandwich, most places seem to offer an "overstuffed" lobster roll for a similar price that doesn't even have that much more lobster than the standard lobster roll. I would say for Boston, this was one of the better places that I've tried during my visit. Though the price may be hefty to some, you definitely get what you pay for! The sandwich is absolutely loaded with lobster and it tastes pretty fresh, a very solid lobster related option in comparison to the other rolls that I have tried so far in the area - I would definitely revisit if I'm in Boston and looking to splurge on a delicious lobster meal.

Food: lobster sandwich comes with a bag of kettle chips for $32. This was my first lobster sandwich and I wasn't sure if I'd like it so our family of 3 split one as a snack. Also it was pricy for all of us to buy 3. Well it was so delicious that we fought over it! It tasted so fresh from the sea. My 16 year old would not give it up. Then in the afternoon I said what do you want for dinner and she's like "lobster sandwich". Service: hole in the wall place. Go up to the counter and order. They have square so credit cards accepted. Ambiance: there is a little shack with somewhat a/c but it wasn't that cool and smelled not great. There are picnic tables with umbrellas outside so we did that. Outhouse for the bathroom. We'll be back if ever in town!

I had a couple lobster rolls while I was in Boston, but the lobster sandwich from Alive and Kicking really blew my mind! This place is a quaint little shack in Cambridge but do not be deceived, it packs a punch. We got the following: - Lobster sandwich: It's juicy, meaty, sweet, and not too saucy. The bread is thin, but strategically so - it stays crunchy and does not compete with the amount of lobster! Comes with a bag of chips instead of fries on the side, but nothing to complain about - they're kettle cooked and very crunchy. 10/10- Clam chowder: Also amazing. It was a thick creamy type and heavy in black pepper flavour - I really enjoyed it! 8/10 Pro tip: Dunk your lobster sandwich into the clam chowder for extra flavour. Overall, service was quick and seating was plenty! Definitely check this place out if you're in the Harvard/MIT area, it's perfect for an easy lunch!

The lobster filling of the sandwich is good. The bread is well-toasted. Pretty standard Boston lobster sandwich/roll. The clam chowder had a decent amount of clams and potatoes. It came with a slice of buttered sourdough. The calamari salad was too sour for my taste.I ordered take out for a Saturday lunch. There was no line for ordering and the wait for the food was about 10 minutes. The place has some indoor and outdoor options. Very homey vibe.

Loved it!!! Expensive but for a one time thing while visiting it's a must do. In a neighborhood which was odd, still fun outdoor picnic vibe. Definitely one can eat a sandwich on their own because you will not want to share once you taste! Totally enjoyed experience!

Hole in the wall with fresh, raw and cooked seafood. No frills so if you are not okay eating at a picnic table in the parking lot then get takeout. A hidden gem in cambridge, great food and great prices.
