Tried for the 1st time. Has great potential but just not there yet. Got the croque madame - way to much dijon, tiny amount of bechemal, ham was hard (really burnt on the ends), bread was partially burnt: Split Pea soup - excellent, no complaints. Reuben with cesaer salad was ok. Pesto egg bake was excellent. Server said potatoes had green peppers so didn't get because they couldn't be taken out and fries weren't available. The other egg bake doesn't come with potatoes and they charge $4 less. Feel they should have just done a price adjustment. The place is cute. Server was very nice but needs to learn her menu. Took way toooooo loooooooong to get our food when there were only 2 other tables. Probably will try it again.

Great gluten-free avocado toast! I've had it twice and added poached eggs. Delicious both times. I also loved their loose-leaf tea selection.

The pesto breakfast was amazing! Coffee was really good. Highly recommend this place. Server was very nice.

Table service was serious lacking. The young server needs more training. Food was just okay. I had Ruben sandwich. The sliced meat was folded over and cold in the middle. Will try back in a month and see if things improve.

I was happy to see someone that knew restaurants take this place over and we like the new name. Went in there for a late breakfast but had lunch instead. Decided to share a a couple of items to try out. The burger was very good, one of the better I have had and the balsamic chicken sandwich was very good as well. Both were good size and fresh. What came with the items was the pork and lentil soup which was fantastic, I would be happy with just that. Great service. We will be back soon

OMG so good went twice this week once for breakfast and ordered on Uber eats for dinner so good! The food is incredible and the service was top notch need more places like this in Des Moines hope you're here to stay!!

What a great little restaurant. Asked the server how long they've been there and she said about a month. Right now the old name is on the building so it was a little tricky to find. Its small and cozy and once folks find this place it'll be tough to get in. We made a reservation, right now you don't need one but bet the time is coming when you will.Pretty extensive menu for such a small place, they serve breakfast all day and lunch as well and that menu looked like it had some wonderful choices.My friend had eggs, bacon and toast and I took a jump and had baked eggs. Sounded delish and did not disappoint. It was eggs baked in an individual serving dish with a wonderful sauce and topped with cheese. Came with toast and what tasted like home made jam. Believe me I ate every bite.We plan on going back and trying one of the lunch options.

We used to go to this place when it was Anchor for a $5 mimosa or Irish coffee on the weekend. It has a comfortable coffee house vibe with couches and semi secluded table seating if preferred. The food was ok, I think the main problem is the service and lack of training.When we arrived we went to the counter to ask if we seat ourselves, they pointed to a table. My boyfriend was looking at the bar counter and they said "you can sit there, but I am pretty sure that one chair is broken ha ha" why the broken chair is still out to sit on is a question in itself. The original server that seated us self admittedly couldNot pronounce the two beers they had on tap and didn't know anything about them just said they were beer. One was bodhizafa from Georgetown which I am familiar with and told her how to pronounce it and explained it was an IPA. The other one was just described as a beer from xyz brewery. She quickly brought our beers and ice waters and let us look over the menu. After quite a while about 10 minutes or so. We could see the two servers standing behind the counter chatting amongst themselves and staring at their phones. No big deal, just kind of annoying when you are waiting to place your order. I approached the counter and asked if we could order. The second server came to the table to take our order, I had a few questions about the menu, to which she just looked over my shoulder at the menu to find the answer. One question was what kind of dressing do you have for the salmon creek Cobb salad? After looking over my shoulder for a minute she had to go to the back to ask, we also asked what the soup of the day was and she again had to go back and ask. We ended up ordering the chicken sandwich and Salmon Creek Cobb. We subbed the regular cheese for swiss on the sandwich and I asked for dressing on the side. When the orders came to the table the sandwich had the regular cheddar on it and my salad had salmon on it. It didn't look like our order so I asked if it was correct and she said you ordered the salmon cobb, I said the nameOf the salad was salmon creek Cobb, I didn't ask for the up charge of salmon, (which maybe a name change would help alleviate this mix up) and he had ordered different cheese. They did offer a correction of my salad to take the salmon off or make a new salad. I don't like wasting so I said there's no reason to remake it. There was no resolution to the sandwich, but again we don't like waste so we ate it and it wasn't a big deal. The food was ok, and the mystery beers were nice. I really hope these owners take the time to train their servers, this could be a fun weekend hangout.

Super good food, great service and the decor is very pleasant. We will definitely go back.

Food was not that great, service was not that great. First time trying, but I won't be back. Table was sticky which is kind of gross as well.
