Alce 101 Kitchen + Tequileria

Went for the first time the other night and it was great. Cool vibe, great decor and the fajitas were the best I ever had. Our waiter Ben represented the company well too

It's totally ok for a restaurant to temporarily close. But not telling their patrons and continuing to accept reservations online (and even confirming the reservations!) only to show up to a dark restaurant with a crayon written WE ARE CLOSED sign is not ok. We have spent thousands at Alce over the years and it's always a special stop for our family on our annual trips to SB. So to say we were disappointed to show up for our reservation for dinner to find it closed... well it feels like a real eff you to their loyal customers. Perhaps loyalty doesn't matter any more.

I really wanted to write a good review about this place, because the food does taste good, but terrible service, bad portions and a clear health code violation weigh to heavily for me to leave anything more than 2 stars... and I feel like 2 stars is generous.We had reservations for 6 at 7:00; we were seated and didn't see our server again for close to half an hour. She came back to take drink orders at almost 7:30. We then received 5 out of six of our drinks. Meanwhile a table was sat next to us and they brought in their dog. I love dogs, but it isn't legal to have them in restaurants y'all.Nothing was bussed off of our table until we were leaving; I literally had to take empty plates off our table to make room and drop them off at the bar myself.My wife and I ordered the chicken fajitas for two; our friend ordered beef fajitas for one. His single serving was larger than our very skimpy double serving, $18 mediocre cocktails, bad service, terrible portions and health code violations. Don't bother wasting your money here.

Restaurant is closed!!! We called and the VM sounded like they open. They still took our online reservation. Showed up on Thursday night at 630 for our reservation and they weren't open. We had to walk like a mile (in heels) to find another restaurant that could seat us without a reservation in time to make our show at the belly up. Be sure to sort Yelp reviews by 'newest' - I looked at Yelp before we made our reservation but didn't see all the 'closed' reviews until today when I sorted by new reviews.

I ate there last night with 2 friends, to summarize this review, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food turned out to be amazing but the service was a little slow. It was a full house however. I don't recommend eating here if you're in a huge rush. The two items the three of us received were mussels and a chile relleno. Both were epic. Not something I could make at home. Awesome flavors. Spotty service was instantly forgotten. I would even go back. Food is the most important part of a restaurant to me.

I wanted to try a new happy hour locally and found this on yelp. They're happy hour deals are quite fabulous. The food we sampled was so good but the drinks were even better. The only thing on the happy hour was a margarita which is perfectly fine because that's what I wanted, I looked at the rest of the drinks and I definitely want to return to try other beverages hereThe ambience is upscale yet casual. There's an indoor dining room and outdoor seating. The bar itself has both indoor and outdoor seating also. We opted to sit at the bar outside. Service was fabulous. The bartender was very attentive and gave us some good suggestions writing this review has actually gotten me excited to go back soon.

I was really disappointed when we went to try this establishment. Server brought water and I sent it back, it tasted like mold. We asked for a moment to look over drink menu oh about 20 minutes later he shows back up and I say to him I'm not a tequila drinker could you tell me about a few of the specialty drinks? I showed him which ones and I guess maybe he wasn't to knowledgeable about the drinks I never really got my answers. We also placed food order same time and said bring tapas out when ready. We ordered a few different ones. Ceviche had absolutely no taste (I got sick to my stomach later). The onion rings were brought out much later than expected and they were way overcooked. The Guacamole was great and the Tortilla Soup was okay. We dined on a Tuesday 7/2/24 and I don't think the "A" team was on duty, I was looking forward to some amazing food but was disappointed unfortunately.

We loved coming here. We would have found it sooner but they are not on open table. The ambiance is as great and the staff very friendly. Our server Mark was an exceptional waiter and really made our experience wonderful. I love that they have tapas and small plates so that we can try a lot of different. Items. The Aperol spritz was very good and my husband enjoyed his drinks. He had 2 different margaritas, but he wished they had some rum drinks on the menu. The bartender was great!I loved the lamb lollipops. Cooked to perfection! I even ordered 2 of them. The Caesar salad was good but the dressing needed more garlic. Order the corn bread with honey. Really good. I liked the chicken dumplings a lot. But my husband thought it was too salty. They were unique in that we've never had anything like that before. The arugula salad was really good and I liked the way there prepared it with the jicama and the blistered tomatoes in it. It was so good I didn't snap a pic. My husband enjoyed the tamales with the bbq quail. The reason why this got 4 stars instead of 5 is because the benches were really uncomfortable. Too upright and stiff like a church pew. And the length under your legs was too short. We looked at the outside benches and they appeared to be the same. What was the designer thinking? They got everything else right. The decor is great. The noice level was good. They didn't play annoying music. The staff was excellent. It's not touristy at all. The bathroom was really clean and I loved the paintings of the flowers on the walls and ceiling. Overall this place is fantastic and I hope they consider replacing the benches. We will come back

This restaurant is cute and trendy! It has a causal feel and the staff was really kind and gave us great suggestions. We got the serpent, lobo, and alce the moose drinks and each one was unique. We also go the fajitas for 2 which had great flavor and good portions. Would eat here again for sure.

Closed! Made a reservation and they confirmed. Arrived and they are closed. Bummer, because this place was fun and yummy.
