Zeng Chinese Restaurant

My mom and I stopped in for lunch. The food was DELICIOUS! And the service was great! We'll definitely be back!

What a great find in Santa Fe The food tends to have lots of flavor fresh vegetables and appropriate serving sizes. The robot delivers your items and even comes to your table for clean up! The dumplings are made fresh and the ambiance is nice and bright.

We stayed at El Sendero and decided to have dinner at Zeng. The ambiance is nice, and the staff is very attentive. They have those robot servers, but a human always accompanies them, which I think helps ensure that each diner gets what they ordered.We had the steamed pork buns to start. The dough was nice and light and the pork filling was really flavorful. They had dipping sauce available but the buns were fine on their own.We also ordered the spicy cumin lamb. Sometimes I can't handle spicy food very well, so we asked them to make it less spicy. When it came, it wasn't spicy at all, though the cumin and other seasonings came through just fine. The meat was lovely and tender but didn't taste much like lamb. My husband thought maybe it got mixed up with beef by accident, but I think it was just a nice young lamb. They have delicious house-made chile crisp so people can ramp up the heat level if they like.I'd like to come back and try a few more of their dishes.

The food and service were very good on our visit to Zeng. Three of us walked in at 7pm on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a bright, diner feel with comfortable booths that are great for groups because you can enter from either side of the booth (small but useful feature!).The waiter suggested that we chose from the specials page because they were more authentic Chinese dishes and the pretty, printed picture pages were more American. I ordered hot and sour soup to start. It was good, pretty typical for what you get in most Chinese restaurants.My wife ordered wonton soup, which she thought would be an appetizer-sized bowl. She didn't notice that the wonton soup is actually an entree item on the menu. It was a large bowl of soup with 5 or 6 pork wontons. It was excellent and we ended up sharing it.For our entree, we ordered stir-fried cauliflower with pork from the specials menu. It was excellent. The menu has one spicy symbol and it was pretty hot. It had a lot of chopped dried hot peppers, which we removed because it was so hot. The cauliflower was nicely cooked, a little browned and still chewy. The flavors were really nice. It was plenty of food for 2 people.The third in our party ordered sesame chicken. It was very large serving that included steamed broccoli and rice. She said it was very good.My wife ordered green tea ice cream for dessert. It was good but not quite a flavorful as we've had at other places. Overall, the food was very good. The service was attentive and friendly and prices were reasonable. Zeng's is a great option when you're in Santa Fe and want something besides Mexican.

Only stumbled onto this place because we were staying at the attached hotel and thought why not. Didn't expect much but all the dishes were DELICIOUS. Quite quite authentic tasting. What a hidden gem nestled in the Santa Fe markets area. We loved that the noodles were handmade! My absolute favorite was the soup dumplings. So much so that we came back and got 3 orders the next day. We also got the Dan Dan noodle soup which was very flavorful. I also got the beef noodle soup which was OK but the beef itself was melting in my mouth, super nice!The service was very fast and extremely polite. Theres a cute little robot that delivers your food to you if seated indoors. Outdoors is also very nice on a cool day. Absolutely loved coming here! Please stop here if you have the time

Don't order the seafood noodles. The crab is fake, and the shrimp is tiny and tasteless. The chicken mushroom steamed dumplings were solid; they make their own skin it seems, but the filling variety and quality are better at Dumpling Tea. I wish the two would trade locations.

What a fantastic restaurant! Super friendly service, beautiful and clean atmosphere and the BEST Chinese food we've found in New Mexico! Being boomers, we mostly split an entree as the portions are usually so large. Last night we had the Mongolian beef and some crab rangoons which was just perfect for us! The rangoons were definitely made to order and absolutely delicious as was the Mongolian beef! All just spectacular as was the outstanding service! The little robots delivering food was also very entertaining! Loved the whole experience!

I tried this place for the first time recently while visiting my folks from out of state. They said Zeng's was relatively new to the area and had gotten rave reviews so we gave it a shot. First off, to be fair, I will say that my parents really liked the entire experience, from the ambience to the food. They even got a kick out of the little robot server strolling around with food and drinks to the various tables. Speaking of which, all the tables were full, and there were plenty of people sitting on the outside patio as well so they must be doing something right.Unfortunately I just didn't care for the food. I tried the Mongolian Beef, fried wantons and Lo Mein. I found there was just way to much oil used on almost all the food. MSG? Chili sauce? Honestly I am not sure what it was, except that it made it almost unpalatable to me. I eat a lot of Chinese food, so it's not that I am picky, but there are a few places I can't go back to because they use too much of a (as-yet unidentified by me) ingredient which gives me a hard stomach ache. This place has now hit that sad list of Chinese food joints I just won't go back to.

First you must ignore the signs about paying for parking and park at the El Sendero Inn - it will be at no charge. We ordered the Mongolian beef and the twice cooked pork. $33.The Mongolian beef was pretty mild in flavor and tasted more like a Moo Shoo beef. But the twice cooked pork was very amazing and we'll be getting that again.The robot delivery and noodle display were pretty cool but even better was the live person making fresh dumplings!! We'll have to try that soon!The staff were courteous and attentive and friendly.Don't forget your free ice cream before you leave!

Great service and good food. The owner came and checked on us and was very friendly. The chili oil they keep on the table is one of the better ones I've ever had and was great to spice up the food. The dumplings and buns were awesome!. The Mongolian beef and Singapore noodles were just what I expected and wanted. The restaurant just opened 4 days prior to when we ate and I am just very happy with our experience and hope it does well and plan to be back myself :)
