I've never written a yelp review before but I had such a terrible experience that I'm doing it now - I firmly believe that this is the most unprofessional business in the city of Albuquerque. Not only is the service and actual quality of work poor, but the business is shady all-around. If I could give a worse rating, I would.I purchased a groupon, just like all the other reviewers, for a "VIP detail" from Extreme Auto Spa & Detail, which to start off isn't even the name of the actual business located at that address. The groupon was for a detail package, originally $164, that I purchased for about half that price. I called to schedule an appointment and had to leave a message.I drove to the location to talk to someone and the owner (I'm assuming) proceeded to tell me, without me even asking, that the groupon package was not what I thought a detail consisted of and that I'd have to spend an additional $35 to have the seats and carpets cleaned. I wanted a full *actual* detail and I had already bought the groupon, so I decided to go ahead with that.We scheduled the appointment for 10am on a Monday and when I arrived, there wasn't anyone there. I waited for about 10 minutes then called the business phone hoping someone in the back would hear it. The person who came wasn't expecting me and was confused why I was there, but then after I talked with him he asked for a phone number and that he'd call when he was finished.I got a call at about 2pm from the owner who told me it was done and asked how soon I could be there because he wanted to "take lunch" and wouldn't be back until 3:30pm. I told him I'd be there when he got back. When I arrived the door was locked and there was another couple in the same boat who had been waiting for over an hour. The owner came out the front door at 4pm saying, "I'm here now!".When I went to pay, he told me that not only was he charging me for the extra shampooing but that he'd be charging me sales tax for the groupon as well as a water surcharge (seriously?) that ended up being over $60! I didn't understand how that math added up, and he told me that he charged sales tax on the original price of the package that I bought from groupon ($164) on top of the sales tax for the extra work. Now for the actual detail: it was lousy. There was dirt and sand in the e-brake boot, the gauge cluster was dirty and oily, there were spots of some kind of goo-like substances around the exterior, and top it all off, they took items out of the vehicle. I understand that normally when you leave your car at a shop they express to you to take personal items out, but in this case no legal document was ever signed. I should have taken the items out of the vehicle, but even so it's a pretty low and unethical move to deliberately take specific things out of the center console (especially a bottle of hand sanitizer, we all know how valuable that is nowadays) and keep it for yourself. All in all, if there's anything to learn from this review, if you'd like to save yourself a headache and a good chunk of change for a poorly done car detail and a frustrating experience, go to an actual, responsible, professional business, not this one.UPDATE A YEAR LATER: I was curious to see if this company was still in business and I've found that the company has gone through several name changes, which I assume is due to poor reviews associated with each new company name and the owner attempting to rid himself of poor customer feedback: Extreme/Xtreme Clean Auto Spa, Tint World & Auto Detailing, Showroom Shine, and now Mirror Image Auto Detail. I highly suggest you look up that name on yelp and read the review by Logan D. He mentions the manager cursed him out and sprayed him with water. He blamed Logan for his own mistakes, and Logan had to walk away leaving his car at the business out of fear of being assaulted. I know for a fact this is the same manager I dealt with because not only does he mention him by name, but the address is the same and the photos show the same building but with a different name.

Purchased a Groupon for $80 for a detail on my moms suv. Our governor released a statement for the elderly to stay inside due to the coronavirus. We saw the news around 930 and my mom told me she was scared because of her comprised health to go outside. I immediately notified the company around 10pm (late I know) but nothing I could do we are in the middle of a pandemic and things are changing by the minute. Instead of being understanding I received a text message from someone I assume works at the detail shop advising me he will be charging a $25 rescheduling fee after I explained the situation about my moms health. This company has no understanding or compassion for the current situation. I should've known from all the negative reviews on Groupon about the company. If this company would have been understanding with the current global issue, they would've had a customer for life but being selfish in this time of need shows the type of business ran. I know you have "policy's in place" but my mom has no control over being too ill to risk getting her car detailed especially for this type of company. Also I received a threatening text message stating "I will be posting your text message if you leave a yelp or Groupon complaint")Not a complaint, just awareness for future customers.

They seem to have changed their names a few times to avoid the bad reviews but the poor business practices remained. The business has gone by other names but these are the ones that have current Yelp pages. The reviews make it clear that this is the same business at the same location, with the same owner/manager. They have also been accused of assault in the reviews.I highly suggest reviewing the additional reviews of this company from its other names:Xtreme Clean Auto Spa (https://www.yelp.com/biz/xtreme-clean-auto-spa-albuquerque-3?sort_by=date_desc)Mirror Image Auto Detailing (https://www.yelp.com/biz/mirror-image-auto-detailing-albuquerque)Johns tints (https://www.yelp.com/biz/johns-tints-albuquerque)**The business has gone by other names but these are the ones that have current Yelp pages. Purchaser Beware! Their website and the Groupon site offer a sale price - and list everything that is included. However, once my vehicle was completed (pay in advance of course), they do not provide all the services listed. Per the very rude owner, if you want all the services listed, you have to pay full price. He did not and does not quite understand the concept of a "sale price" - especially when he has all the services listed in the sales price. I tried to reason with him (they did not detail the engine as listed - and most likely did not perform several of the services listed) and requested they perform the engine detail, give me a partial refund or a credit. Owner refused all. I should've checked the Better Business Bureau site for the grade (F). I filed a complaint with the BBB, here is his his exact (cut & paste) written response through the BBB:"this man is crazy and i will not respond . He paid a lesser price than the full amount there fore not all services are performed !hes already disputed this charge with his bank and is asking for a full refund except for $30 dollars so basically we worked for free on his car . but thats fine if he wants to try and have champagne taste on a beer budget . so he aint getting nothing from ME ! BYE BYE" As you can see, not only fraudulent advertising, but pathetic customer service from the OWNER.

Terrible customer service. Owner never even showed up for one of the appointments. Below average car detail. Items from inside my car stolen during the process. A bunch of extra charges such as an $8.00 "water surcharge" and $5.00 "disinfection fee" added to the bill at the end. Such a scam.

Like the other reviewer, I called and left a message to schedule and they texted me more than a week later as a response. It takes a lot to arrange dropping off your vehicle on a weekday and they should be accurate on times. Their employees need to communicate better. The person who took the car in the morning said 2-3 hours. Then when I got my ride there after work, more than 6 hours later, it wasn't done. That was pretty aggravating. I knew about the water surcharge and sales tax but yes like the other reviewer it was way over taxed! The amount they taxed me isn't even correct amount for state taxes for the ORIGINAL price of my economy detail, nor the groupon price I paid. I don't know where they got the number to be honest.

The owner/manager worked with us to redeem a Groupon that was ready to expire. He offered extra services, which I declined and he accepted. The vehicle was very well done and when picking it up, I spent some time talking with the owner/manager. Professional service, nice people. I suggest they update the times they are open on the website, but other than that, I'll be back for another detail.

I purchased an auto detailing from Groupon. When I called to schedule I had to leave a message and did not get a call back. I had to call again the next day. When I dropped off my vehicle the gentlemen spoke broken English so communication was a problem. I was told it would take approximately 3 hrs. After 5 1/2 hrs I called for a status update and was told it had been ready for 3 hrs and that they had sent a text. NO text was sent to me. In addition, I could not go pick up my vehicle at that time because NO ONE WAS THERE and would not be back for another 1 1/2 hrs. This is not what I consider good customer service. On top of that they charged sales tax on what it would have cost had I not had a Groupon. That does not seem legal to me. I can understand charging on what I paid but not on some arbitrary amount. Plus they charged an $8.00 water surcharge......really?!! A water surcharge! Overall I am happy with the actual detailing but their business practices are suspect. I would suggest you get the total costs in writing before proceeding with this company.
