My grandfather lived in this complex and unfortunately passed on this month. My family all lives out of state and I want to sincerely express my appreciation for their management team here. They answered the phone any time we called, they helped secure his unit when we couldn't be there to do it ourselves, and they really made me feel like he had a little family where he lived. Thank you Trinity and Angela in the office for your kindness, patience (I know we required a lot ), and your assistance in our time of loss. I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for our family.

Many people like myself look for honest and unbiased reviews to help inform their decisions when trying to decide on a place to call home. My review will be just that; Facts. My partner and I found whispering sands via an online search for inexpensive rental properties within a certain radius from the UNM campus. We currently live in the ever-expensive Denver Metro area and were thinking about relocating.I called to inquire about available properties and was told that 1bdr's were renting for $526.00. I was also told the application fee was $40 per adult and that I could do the process via an online application or in person. Based on the top reviews that I saw , I decided to start the process online which included $45 application fee's (+ processing for ACH) and a $100 holding fee, with all 1bdr rents starting at $589.00.When I inquired with the leasing staff Brianna, she told me that she didn't know why the price was different but that she would speak to her manager to ensure consistency with the information that she provided. My partner and I drove down to ABQ, New Mexico on 1/30/16 to meet with Brianna as discussed to drop off our verification paperwork and to also see the unit in person. The model unit we were shown had over 35 dead cockroaches in it. from the bathroom to the closet to the kitchen and so forth. When we inquired about the infestation we were told that it is sometimes the unfortunate nature of living in an apartment community and that they were under new management FPI MANAGEMENT COMPANY: 916.357.5300 ( who I have since reached out to , to no avail - Left message for Renee Wilson who handles the portfolio that includes this property) who was trying to get a handle on the issue.I also inquired about beg bug infestations to which the leasing staff was honest in saying that they have had issues with it and that there even was a woman next door to the model unit who had been the main problem in that area with a severe infestation who would be moving soon.I told Brianna that I have asthma and am allergic to roaches. She stated that apart of the lease actually has a clause that requires each tenant to submit to mandatory spraying of their unit every two weeks. The purpose in her conveying this information was to express her sincerest understanding of my concern but also to be honest, which I can respect. When we got back to the office we discussed what the rest of process would entail if we decided to proceed or if we decided not to. She explained that if we decided not to, the holding fee were refundable.I reached out to Brianna on 2/1/16 to inform her that we would not be moving forward in the process due to the infestation issues and that I would need the holding deposit refunded. She stated that she would reach out to her manager and call me back by EOB. She never called back and seemed (my assumption based on tone and hurried pace) to be irritated by my request. After she did not deliver on her promise I proceeded to reach out to FPI management and left a message for Renee last name perhaps Wilson at phone number:916.357.5300 to let her know of the situation going on at FPI's property, whispering Sands ,and also to request that my holding fee and application fee's be refunded due to misrepresentation of the property and the terrible infestation. There is no way with a known infestation of the complex that I would have applied for the unit and drove down almost 6 hrs to New Mexico to view it.It is my opinion that property management companies misrepresent their properties and hope that people don't discover the issues before handing over their money. I don't have money to throw away and I think it is more than fair to request a refund of what was paid.I am going to progressively move from one social media platform to another and increase my postings of what occurred until this issue is resolved and my money is refundedThank you for reading.

My sister lives at this complex and her and as well as her family's clothes were stolen from the laundry area. They let management know because there are cameras but management would not help them. Definitely not a good place. They DO NOT CARE about there residents.

We lived there from june2015 to June 2016. It was the worst place i have ever lived. When they bring you in to showcase their apartments they show you a model that looks pristine, but dont fall for it. The price was the only reason we stayed. Neighbors were rude, smoked and grilled right outside the apartments making our entire aprtment small like lighter fluid and cheap cigarettes. Maintenance is terrible. They ignore your requests and do the minimal to fix things. The heater and swamp cooler were crap and we were uncomfortable most of the time. The gated entrance ia stupid and does not keep homeless people out, it just pisses residents off and backs up traffic coming in and out. If you can afford anything else do it to avoid living in this dump.
